sayuri is... not what you'd expect to see from a hero-in-training. she has a habit of teasing and looking down on others, and when she doesn't get what she wants, she throws a fit. totally a mature teenager. she hides her negative faults with a cheery persona, constantly smiling and throwing jokes left and right so that others won't suspect that she is secretly a bitter person. sayuri will be nice to you until you get closer to her and uncover some of her faults, and that's when she turns nasty. her cheerful teasing slowly turns into ruthless bullying, but she is able to pretend and make others believe that it was all "just a joke". her heart and feelings are more fragile than one may think, considering her extrovertedness, as she had been "betrayed" in a very similar fashion to the kind of bullying she puts other people through. sayuri's insecurity gets the better of her sometimes, and to release those pent up emotions, her victims end up receiving the short end of the stick. all in all, sayuri is that kind of girl who pretends to be all cutesy and spends most of her time on social media when she's merely a monster who has had her heart clawed out a long time ago.
as your typical city-bred girl, sayuri is no stranger to how cruel the real world can be. both of her parents had passed away from an epidemic and sayuri ended up moving from osaka to tokyo, where she started to live with her aunt and uncle. when sayuri's quirk ended started to manifest, it quickly became prevalent that the young girl housed a dangerous quirk that could potentially kill millions if not carefully supervised. from then on, sayuri had been given her own dishes, cutlery, cups, and bathroom, in which no one would dare to use. the red eyed girl's quirk could create toxins or medicine with her bodily fluids, and because she couldn't control how much poison or what kind of fluids to secrete, she was distanced from the rest of the family. however, the straw that ended up breaking the camel's back for sayuri was a boy she dated in junior high. the boy who sayuri dated claimed to love her, but never showed affection to her in any sort of manner. when he wanted to break up, sayuri was unwilling, and he lashed out at her with a knife that he had always carried around with him. it grazed sayuri's cheek and blood began to well up, and that was when sayuri lost it. she killed the boy with the poison from her blood, and when the police arrived, she had cradled her former lover's head and perfectly played the role of a simple, heartbroken girl who had no clue how her lover had died. when fingers started to point in her direction, it was easy for sayuri to claim that it was just an accident; they were fighting, and he had insulted her drew blood first. nonetheless, the authorities had to do some- thing about her seemingly uncontrollable quirk, and the best option was to put sayuri into yuuei's hero course, in order to train her quirk. of course, no one really knows that at sayuri's age, she was already quite proficient in controlling and activating her quirk with ease.
toxic remedies was a strange quirk that had come from sayuri's father, who was a botanist, and sayuri's mother, who was a scientist. in order for her quirk to have any affect on other humans, sayuri must inject her body fluids into the bloodstreams of other humans. for this reason, sayuri had been born with unnaturally sharp teeth, with her sharpest being the canine teeth, or the vampire teeth. for her toxins to take affect, they simply have to be in the bloodstream; secreting remedies is a little more complex, as sayuri would have to take in some of the diseased blood and create the remedy within her own bloodstream. then, she would make the diseased person drink her blood, and voila, the person would be fully recovered (but still fatigued!) within ten minutes. however, sayuri's quirk does have its own limitations; only the blood can create remedies, other- wise the other body fluids would all create toxins. in order to create a specific poison, sayuri must first understand all the chemical and biological compounds of the poison and then consume a little of the plant or animal in which the poison originated from (so if she wanted to kill someone then sayuri would eat a small portion of water hemlock or deadly nightshade, and if she wanted to paralyze someone, she might consume a bit of pufferfish meat). in a sense, sayuri only creates biological toxins and remedies, and though she cannot be affected by natural poisons, chemical poisons such as lead or mercury can still harm her. similarly, sayuri would also need to understand the compounds for her remedies, and other herbal remedies would have no effect on her.
* : sayuri's power is highly dependent on whether or not she is able to inject her poison into her target; if she can inject the poison, then it would be a 4/5, but physically, she's just a 2/5.
