Well, at least everybody's absences are in sync. XD
This gives me a chance to properly answer the previous question:
Does your character have any personality traits that come directly from you/Is the character basically you in a different body?
- Nicole loves to write. It's one of her major personality traits. She takes everything as inspiration for a story, even if you shove a serial killer in front of her.
- Acacia is highly determined and calm under pressure, a steadfast protector. She's also physically based off me. When I sketch her, I use pictures of my own figure as a direct reference (while sketching others would need to have edited proportions). She also has the deep tenor/baritone voice.
- Hazel and Hickory resemble my teenage selves. Hazel being the earlier iteration, and Hickory being more like myself as I began to mature. They have similar strengths and weaknesses as myself.
- Hemlock & Vincent are pretty much the opposite of me, but they are tiny scrawny wimps like my brother. I hope he reads this.
Note about Acacia's voice:
It isn't simply a "deep for a girl" (alto or contralto) voice. Imagine your typical "deep for a girl" voice and make it an entire octave lower. Or, imagine the voice of a grown man... and make THAT a little lower.
As a teenager, I was very self conscious about my voice. Even now I get comments from grown men about how my voice is deeper than theirs! These comments do not come from scrawny dudes with "high for a guy" voices, no, these comments come from bulky guys who have genuinely manly voices.
I have learned to be comfortable with my voice and to appreciate it for what it is. And instead of feeling embarrassed about it, I'll happily laugh about my voice WITH people who think it's ridiculous. XD
A little story about why Acacia has my voice pitch. I can actually extend to nearly the lowest bass note (bass is like a Darth Vader voice) but let's not go that far.
