history . cordelia had always felt like her life was never really hers. between a father w
ho never considered her to be enough and a manipulative mother who explicitly told th
e family that cordelia was her favorite to guilt trip her into staying by her side despite e
ach of her parents consistent abuse. but almost more than her parents she almost felt
as if her brother was more overly controlling, she knew he always wanted the best for h
er but constantly fueled her paranoia about people finding out her identifying gender
(she a trans woman if you missed that) and used the fact he was funding her future (bu
ying her hormone blockers and saving up money for her future) as a way to guilt her in
to feeling bad for him. of course the fact he did fund her future is something she appre
ciates and like heck, he's her brother and she loves him. but she can’t deny the fact tha
t she’s a little bitter about their past. but at the time she was pretty ignorant to it and b
ecause she had trouble helping her brother financially, she tried to help with positivity.
for one reason or another point saint claire always seemed to have people down on the
dumps, the least cordelia felt she could do was try and pull them out. of course some p
eople see this optimism as naivety or childish behavior, which honestly, they're right, it
pretty much always is. at the moment cordelia is living a little outside of la and working
as a freelance editor as she attendees medical school. the only reasons she's coming b
ack to saint claire is to attend her mother's funeral. barely anyone in the town knows h
er as cordelia, most people, including her father, still address her as charles and never
learned that she's transgender, at least until now. honeslty she hopes that she can just
slide in and out and have no one confront or recognize her, a lot happened to get her o
ut of this town smoothly, and she doesn't really want to go back.
