they didn't like the idea of their daughter having to submit to
a prince as soon as she married. they taught her to be cunning
and manipulative, as well as teaching her more about her
powers. all in all, thora had a lovely childhood with a loving
mother and father who she owes her life to. she has been told
to never trust anyone in full because as a manipulator, one has
to know that there's always a chance of being manipulated.

thora is manipulative. her kindness is merely a facade that covers up a
need to stand over everyone she associates herself with. thora is a
megalomaniac that places power above literally anything else on her
priority list. alongside this, she's also prissy, arrogant, and spoiled. her
anger slips out easily and she's not afraid to hurt others if she has been
hurt herself because she thinks of herself as almighty. thora is known
to get herself out of tough situations by pretending to be weak.

History:Late one night Rika heard a noise from outside her window, a tall women clad in black stood on her balcony watching her. Instead of be scared, she was curious. Rika slipped out of bed and took a step towards the woman who drew her sword drawn. This was a test that Rika was unaware of, her eyes widened and eventually the woman had her flattened against a wall. The woman dragged her to the balcony, dangling her over the edge. Rika screamed and the clear sky quickly turned to a black abyss full of lightning. The woman released her and presented her with the small sword and disappeared over the balcony.

history. he's the eldest of two children, having a younger sister, though he generally doesn't pay her much attention at all. he isn't very close to his family, though his parents and sister are all very kind in comparison to him. no one really knows why he acts the way he does, other than him of course. when he was younger he used to sneak outside to play with a friend he had made in the small village by their house. soon though that friend betrayed him and gave him up to kidnappers, whom he ended up killing using his powers due to his panic and hurt feelings. his friend had also caught victim to his ice and perished along with the kidnappers. since then he's distanced himself from others to avoid hurting anyone else like that.

akio is a curious individual. he has a concise, robotic manner of speaking and often fails to identify sarcasm. although he spends most of his time alone, akio takes interest in observing other people and their reactions to certain events. he often says things that may upset other people without realizing due to his difficulty understanding emotions. despite being quite apathetic, akio does care to some extent about the well-beings of others and wants to become a more compassionate person. he does not, however, give much thought to how other people perceive him, with the one exception of this being his father. when faced with a choice, akio will often pick the most logical option that will produce the best results. this is the reason why he has no concerns about entering what he believes will be a loveless marriage, as long as it pleases his family. one of the things akio wants the most right now is to be able to properly understand emotions such as love and hate, and to experience these for himself with someone who truly cares about him. the other is to find something that he believes in enough to fight for and to defy his father should the man's wishes conflict with those beliefs.

the miyazaki family have not ruled for very long. about a century ago, akio's kingdom had been ruled by a benevolent monarch who had passed away with no heirs. this led to fighting amongst the nobles over who should succeed the late king, which eventually led to a civil war. after many years of fighting, it was the miyazaki family, the strongest of the fighting houses, who emerged victorious. the new king, akio's father, rules with an iron fist and has no care for the well-being of his people. his only concern is waging war and claiming new territory. it was to his shock and disgust to have his only heir be a quiet, book-wormish boy with little love for war. because of his father's rejection and his mother's death at childbirth, akio spent most of his time alone. he quickly became obsessed with books, escaping into fictional worlds where he could experience all the things he never could in real life. at age sixteen, akio first discovered his powers. with these came the responsibility to train and develop them to aid the kingdom in its wars, as well as the first amount of attention he has ever recieved from his father. from anyone, really. since then, akio's priority has been to master his elemental powers.
