Elderclaw is the epitome of a dedicated warrior. His whole life he has trained hard and fought harder, and his greatest wish is to become the best warrior in the history of the clans - an expert in battle, rigidly following the warrior code - and although it sounds like something a kit might say, Elderclaw takes it seriously. His devotion to the ideal of a perfect warrior has lead him to be one of the better fighters in the clan, earning him the 'claw' suffix for his prowess in battle. His drive to be 'perfect' causes him to constantly reevaluate his actions and abilities, and he often becomes quite distressed if he feels he is not progressing and becoming better. Elderclaw has a quiet demeanour, and often speaks with a calm, if cool, tone. He dislikes being ordered about and prefers to be in control, which has caused more than one altercation with his superiors. He is quick to come to conclusions about the motives of others and does not trust easily, but the clan is always in his best interest and he will not hesitate for a second to defend his clanmates with his life.

Elderclaw grew up in the clan. His mother, Willowstripe, died from greencough only a few days after giving birth to him and his brother, Thymefur. Their grief-stricken father, Rainwhisker, disappeared one night and didn't return. The two brothers grew up under the care of a foster mother. As adults, Thymefur and Elderclaw were an inseparable pair, but shortly after reaching 19 moons, tragedy struck. The brothers were crossing a nearby thunderpath when Thymefur was hit by a car and killed. Elderclaw fled the scene in terror, leaving his brother's body behind. When he returned to camp, he realised what he had done & was overcome with shame; his brother would never get a proper burial. After Thymefur's death, he swore to himself that he would always do the best he could by the warrior code - and never leave his clanmates behind.

Thrushpaw is a quiet and often shy tom, keeping to himself most of the time. Despite this, he is actually has very good social skills and can keep up a conversation quite easily; it's just that he often prefers solitude. His observant nature allows him to pick up body language and shifts in tone without trouble, and this means he sometimes understands more about others than they give him credit for. His social skills allow him to make friends quickly and to get along with almost everyone he meets. However, sometimes he trusts too quickly, allowing others to take advantage of him. Thrushpaw can be very blunt in his answers or advice, although he always tries to avoid this. His brutal honesty stems partly from his natural sincerity and truthfulness. He is fiercely against lying, and unless someone's well-being is on the line, he'll tell the truth at all costs.

Thrushpaw learns quickly and has excellent memory, so he usually does quite well in training. He is exceptionally curious, and this can sometimes lead to him being distracted or running off on his own. It also means he can become nosy and inquisitive about other cats' affairs, but most of the time he's able to recognise when this is inappropriate and stop himself.

elderclaw was once close friends with the leader, but
after the she-cat's ascension to leadership they grew
apart as nightstar's responsibilities began to steal
more and more of her attention and time. elderclaw
feels no malice towards her, but he does feel slightly
injured that she no longer talks to or confides in him
the way she used to. now she is just a leader to him,
and nothing more.

elderclaw deeply respects cloudtuft for her discipline
and the fact that she never asks for more than what
is needed. He often finds himself impressed with the
way she wields words, always seeming to know ex-
actly what to say and how to express her thoughts.

and has an easy relationship with the older tom.
during his apprenticeship elderclaw visited him in
the med. cat's den many times for cuts, bruises and
other injuries he sustained while getting up to mis-
chief with his brother thymefur, so he's gotten to
know the tom fairly well.

common and admires the molly for her bravery and
strength of character. he often compares himself
with her and in his mind she represents a challenge
to become better.

sympathises with the tom's loss and believes that a
young cat like him should not have had to suffer so
much. As such he usually tries to be kind to sootclaw.

he likes her kind nature. he is slightly disapproving of
her hot-headedness, however.

elderclaw hasn't really gotten to know acornpaw yet,
but he does find himself getting somewhat annoyed
by his tactlessness, which he has been the victim of
before. he lets it go because he knows apprentices
aren't always good at saying the right things.

elderclaw is disapproving of the way breezepaw
treats her apprenticeship and her duties. she seems
to be the opposite to elderclaw when it comes to
how seriously they take their roles in the clan.

elderclaw likes clearmorning quite a bit. he finds her
easy to get along with and likes her straightforward-
ness. although they tend to handle problems in very
different ways - elderclaw with strength, and clear-
morning with words - he recognises her ability to
resolve conflicts and respects her for that. he also
highly approves of her devotion to her clan.

swiftsnap is one of elderclaw's oldest friends. They
grew up together, from kithood to apprenticeship
to their first vigil as new warriors. though they
occasionally have their fights as any friends do,
they still get along well and have a strong bond.

elderclaw has a strong sense of protectiveness for
the young she-cat which formed after she lost one
of her close friends. he knows the feeling of loss
too well after thymefur's death, so he keeps a
close eye on her and helps her out where possible,
acting as a sort of father figure - or trying to. her
loudness clashes with his quiet, serious personality
though, so he sometimes finds himself quite irritat-
ed by her.

elderclaw and swallowflight have quite a few things
in common, including their solitary natures and their
commitment to the clan. but her headstrong person-
ality and temper have caused a few arguments bet-
ween them in past. still, he treats her fairly and is
always polite, feeling mostly indifferent to her.

elderclaw likes boulderclaw and has a good relation-
ship with the older tom since they were apprentices
together for a time, but he doesn't know the tom all
that well; their paths just haven't seemed to cross
much yet. he feels they could get along fairly well,
though.

elderclaw sees minnowpaw as being very similar to
himself when he was younger, before thymefur's
death. he dislikes minnowpaw's recklessness but
at the same time he understands it, since he was
much the same at his age. as such he relates quite
strongly to him and while they don't often talk,
elderclaw likes the young tom.

elderclaw has known hektor for quite a while, after
being introduced by nightstar while they were still
friends. he's not quite as comfortable around the
big canine as nightstar is, but he knows that he
means no harm and they get along pretty well.
