Basically the idea is that in the two years that Mark was gone he met someone and they'd gotten close enough to have moved in together. Could be interesting if said boyfriend was a human, though a Werewolf is certainly on the table as well. If he's a human we can have it that Mark told the man everything about him and what he is and his world. (Which is obviously a big no-no.) Said man could have flown to Jasper after Mark left, potentially in an attempt to just be there for him. Not knowing it could potentially make things worse, since I'd imagine the pack would be none to happy to know a human knows everything about them. So down the line when that comes out it could just create some conflict, is what I was thinking. If he's another Werewolf I'd imagine a loner knowing everything could also create some conflict as well, just not as much as a human.
Anyhow! Was just a thought I had. Doesn't need to be created or anything. But if you do take an interest you can PM me and we can discuss it. ;]

"hey, relax. things couldn't possibly get any worse."
age; 36
gender; cismale
orientation; heterosexual
species; human, but unknowingly has wolf blood. around an eighth, to be exact.
occupation; previously a swat team member, but now proudly labels himself a blade. rightly or not.
character brief; a surprisingly optimistic dude who is probably a little over-enthusiastic about working with the Blades and almost certainly underwhelmed by the actual people; somehow, from the whispers he'd heard passed between high rankers once or twice, he'd expected more. either way, he hides it well and still strives to impress his new teammates, jumping at every opportunity and carrying himself with what you could loosely define as honor. though that "honor" doesn't stop him messing with ford's gear for a laugh when ford's back is turned.
appearance; an average height, with brown eyes and thinning hair about the same shade. he has a passion for dress shirts, nike sneakers and jeans, for some reason, but the look suits him.
positive traits; confident, vaguely honorable, practical, smart, reliable, friendly, optimistic, rigorous, ambitious
negative traits; sycophantic, materialistic, narrow-minded, impatient, shallow, secretive, often bad tempered and highly possessive, mischevious.
strengths; a good fighter, specialising in pistol handling, and well trained to deal with vaguely similar scenarios to the Blades: hostage rescue, lightning raids, you name it. he's also a bit of a technology wizard, to ford's despair. but what's perhaps most noticable, if you know what you're looking for, is that he has excellent reflexes.
weaknesses; he's not a great negotiator with those outside his inner circle. he's also inclined to blindly follow orders, even when he knews better, and is a stickler for rules and protocol. his rigidness doesn't sit so well with the Blades. he's reluctant to act outside of the book and is therefore easily predictable because of it. it's easy for him to get caught in the same path of action, over and over again.
