personality: Kishiko appears to be shy and quiet on the surface, and reserved to the point of coldness. He doesn't smile often, seemingly a naturally gloomy person. However, if the layer of ice around his heart is cracked, one can find he is actually adventurous and imaginative, with a childlike energy in doing something he enjoys. Those who haven't made it past that barrier, however, likely see him as a moody weakling.
Unfortunately, Kishiko is a bit of a pushover. His redeemable qualities are stifled by his instinctive obedience and reliance on others. While independent, he proves to be full of spirit, but under the eye of authority, he immediately submits. That is to say, unless his moral values are challenged. That's when he becomes most fiery.
history: As a child, Kishiko was always fascinated by water. Even at a young age, he found the way it moved beautiful; flexible and smooth, of the greatest elegance, and yet so powerful. The young boy could spend hours on end sitting on the edge of a dock, playing with the droplets of the local lake between his toes. He'd lean over the edge and stare at his reflection, mirrored so sharply on the water's surface, and giggle to himself as the little ripples his feet made caused his image to dance up and down.
One night, the child found himself in great distress. He fled to the lake, his watery friend, and sat on the dock once more. Again, Kishiko stared at his reflection, lit by the glow of the stars. Droplets flew and ripples blossomed, but from his tears rather than his toes.
A dragon emerged from the depths. In thick silence, the angelic creature, white as the moon above, rose before him and stared. Despite the power it resonated, Kishiko wasn't scared. He reached out to touch it, and the dragon allowed it, even nuzzling into his little hand. When the great reptile spoke, he spoke of wisdom and reassurance.
From then on, Kishiko returned to the lake whenever he was troubled. He would seek the dragon, who had identified himself as Nirvelli, for guidance and comfort that none other could provide.

personality: Like his protector, Nirvelli tends to come off as cold. Elegant, calm, and composed, he's initially intimidating in ways that dragons usually aren't. The graceful creature acts as a sort of parent to Kishiko in a strict manner, bringing the expression "tough love" to life. While he does truly care about him, he feels as though he could use some toughening up, which he isn't necessarily wrong about. During the times in which Nirvelli isn't trying to teach Kishiko some life lesson or another, they get along quite well.
history: After meeting Kishiko for the first time and providing company for the troubled boy, Nirvelli grew quite attached to him. He had watched the child playing in his lake from below for quite some time with his cheerful demeanor, and when he had seen him upset, he couldn't stifle his desire to help him in any way he could. Luckily, Kishiko had also quickly grown fond of the dragon in return. The two talked in the tranquility of the night, time after time. It wasn't until the human had grown into an adult that Nirvelli officially adopted him as his protector, having known he couldn't have taken that responsibility before.
