manta is considerably taller than the average cat and fits in well amongst the other cats of the colony. he looks almost scrawny upon
a first glance, but a closer inspection reveals a well-defined layer of muscle, giving him a deceptively weak appearance despite
his strength. his coat is very short and rather fine, thin enough that the humid heat of the swamps don't get to him as much as many
other cats. he's colored a fairly even mix of black and white with distinct markings particularly across his face and legs. notably round
eyes start a pale yellow at the outside edges, fading to a forest green up against the pupils. his only distinct scar is a small nick
towards the top of his left ear.

outwardly, manta is typically the ideal leader. calm under pressure, loyal to the colony to a fault, and often having little difficulty
finding unusual fixes for problems, he comes across as the perfect choice for leading. however, it often comes out in any kind of
crisis that he has serious trouble with remaining organized, having to rely on his second and the healer leader to keep things
moving neatly. additionally, he often hesitates far too long in making decisions on much of anything, drawing out problems much
longer than they need to be - and when he does decide things, he often only thinks about short-term solutions and has to go back
and fix an error in his plan later. whenever any kind of debate arises, as well, he tends to get rather aggressively competitive,
absolutely determined to win at almost any cost.

for a colony cat, manta's life has been fairly average. he was born to a mother who was an official part of the colony, and a father
who was an outsider, with a single sibling. he only knew his father briefly before the older tom left the colony's territory - he remains
unaware that mihos was killed by a cougar not long after. his mother lived long enough to see him become an apprentice before dying
of illness. his single sister, haze, left the colony shortly after achieving warrior rank, preferring to take after their father and wander
outside the territory. his apprenticeship was nothing remarkable - as a warrior, he proved himself as leader material through constant
hard work and was eventually voted in as the second and then finally the leader. the colony's current crisis is the only notable event of
his leadership. he hasn't shown any particular romantic interest in any of his colonymates to date, and doesn't seem desperate to begin
a relationship.

fox is very visibly not a colony-born cat, being even shorter than a typical housecat and considerably shorter than the average colony
member. he's built fairly heavily with a decent amount of fat, though he still has a defined layer of muscle underneath. his striped
ginger coat is quite a bit thicker and than most of his colonymates, though not exceptionally so, and he has a small number of white
markings primarily on his face, chest and paws. his eyes are particularly unusual, having been born with heterochromia, the right eye
a light amber-brown and the left pale blue. a number of small scars litter his body, but the only truly notable ones are claw scars on
his left shoulder.

to anyone unfamiliar with him, fox typically comes across as extremely unfriendly. he has a lot of opinions and tends to be quite loud
and aggressive in voicing them, more than fully confident in himself, rarely backing down until he's been sufficiently acknowledged
and preferably gotten his way. his interactions with colonymates tend towards short and snarky, and although he'll work together with
others when necessary, he often makes it quite clear that he has little desire to and prefers to be on his own. despite that, on the rare
occasion that he does make friends with the other cats, he's generally loyal to a fault and quite open with them.

ⅰ. acorn is a fairly young tomcat, only around two years old, who came to the colony when he was very young with his mother. he doesn't remember life outside of it, nor does he remember if he has family outside of his mother away from the colony.

ⅱ. a little shorter than the average cat in the colony, acorn has a lithe build, making him great at stalking prey, so long as it is outside of the water. his brown tabby coat provides a decent camouflage in the woods, but although it's short, it's rather thick, making it difficult for him to traverse the swamps as easily as most of the colony-born cats can. his eyes are a pale olive green, flecked with spots of brown.

ⅲ. overall, acorn is a pretty average warrior. he doesn't go out of his way to be outstanding, and generally prefers others to take the spotlight as opposed to himself. he comes across as awkward and unfriendly, though he's genuinely kind-hearted. speaking to others isn't a strong suit of his, and he would rather sit back and let others decide for him rather than make any move himself.

ⅳ. due to his somewhat reclusive nature, acorn doesn't have many friends within the colony. he doesn't often speak to his mother, finding her a little too abrasive for his tastes, and tends to find company in equally awkward friends.

ⅰ. pansy is old -- that much is evident at first glance. her old age of seven years shows most of the time as of late, and she's certainly done enough in her life to qualify her age affecting her so much. born as a stray in the nearest human dwelling, she wandered around for the first few years of her life, not lingering in the town for very long before wandering the forests nearby with a few others. after many years of traveling, she stumbled upon the colony in the ruins with her newborn son. realizing that she would need to settle down sooner or later, she decided to stay and has recently taken the rank of elder.

ⅱ. pansy's long, thick fur is a clear sign that she's not colony-born. her bone structure is fairly dainty, and that combined with her small size made her great at stalking prey when she was more active. A chocolate calico pattern decorates her long, soft pelt, which is just thin enough that it wasn't much of a bother for her to hunt in the swamps in the colony territory, with a long tail ending in a splash of white. Her eyes are wide, light brown in color.

ⅲ. more than anything else, pansy is very outspoken. she's never shied away from making her opinion known, and with age, she has only grown bolder. her weapons of choice are a sharp tongue and words that often border on cruelty, but for the most part, she only feels the need to get more aggressive over topics that deeply move her.

ⅳ. her only living relative is her son, though she's also very close to the colony's current leader.

ⅰ. pepper is, overall, an unremarkable cat. she was born within the colony to two warriors, along with one sibling, and she was quick to follow in her parents' footsteps and start down the path of becoming a warrior when her time to be an apprentice came. just a few weeks shy of earning her warrior name, the collapse of the sewers has put a temporary halt to most of her training, leaving her to go over lessons she's already learned by heart.

ⅱ. as with most colony-born cats, pepper has long legs and a mostly dark pelt. her paws are large, good for keeping her balance in the swamps and for swimming. her fur is short and thin, mostly black with a few scattered striped orange patches, the largest of which is on her face. her eyes are mostly light green, growing slightly richer in color just around the pupil to appear slightly blue at some angles.

ⅲ. a little brash, pepper isn't one to hold her tongue, making her a very outspoken cat. she would fit well into the general theme of the colony politics, if only she weren't so impatient. always willing to jump to the aid of any colony-mate, she considers herself very friendly and likable, and can't comprehend why anyone might dislike her. she's eager to the point of near obnoxiousness, finding it very hard to sit still for long and preferring action to mere words. her inability to sit and wait for thnigs has caused her trouble before, and yet she continues doing what she does best -- making impulsive descisions and dealing with the consequences.

ⅳ. pepper is very outgoing, so she has quite a few friends within the colony.

crescent is practically a giant, towering over most other cats. he is equally muscular, looking like he could easily take a fight. his coat
is long, soft, silky, and perpetually fluffy from the humidity of the swamp. it is thinner than it would be in a cold environment, but
crescent can get overwhelmed by heat quickly from his dense fur. he is primarily a dark grey with a cream neck and tabby markings. his
eyes are a muddled yellow that blend into a green, with some brown lines around the edges.

crescent comes off more as a warrior than a healer, physically speaking. however, he makes a half decent healer as he is able to resist
reacting to his patients' injuries and frightening them. this means that he can come off as gruff or apathetic. he does truly care about
his colony members, though, and will go out of his way to try to help anyone who ends up in his care. he fusses over cats when
stressed, eyeing them from a safe distance every few minutes. he often says little about himself, preferring to let the other cat take
hold of the conversation. he takes a lot of pride in his work, which means that he takes insults to heart, especially from cats that
he cares about. he thinks of the colony as his own family and will give his life to save another's. he likes to spend the majority of his
time alone, pondering the best way to heal others, prevent disease, or just enjoy the quiet. he considers himself a man of few words,
but can get talkative if he is interested in a conversation.

crescent is, upon first glance, not a colony cat. he was born to two kittypets in a forbidden love type situation. neither parent was
allowed to keep him and he was put up for adoption in a shelter, taken in, and subsequently, accidentally ditched when his twoleg
moved away. he found himself alone and wandered close enough to the colony's territory to, not soon after, be taken in as an
apprentice, stubbornly refusing the opportunity to train under a warrior, citing the desire to help others. he does not know where his
