Viperstep has fire in his spirit.
Ambitious and free-spirited, he doesn't allow rules to
limit him. He views rules as more of a set of guidelines,
flexible and bendable to his will. This tends to cause a
few problems, but only when he gets caught; true to his
name, Viperstep is cunning like a snake, with quite the
reputation for deceiving his enemies.
The tabby tom has two faces—one he wears around
friends and one that he wears around foes. With those
who would oppose him or his Clan, he is utterly ruthless,
oftentimes going above and beyond what would be con-
sidered necessary...particularly when it comes to vio-
lence. Among friends, however, Viperstep becomes per-
fectly agreeable, albeit usually quiet and reserved.
For all his faults, Viperstep is fiercely loyal to the Clan,
and would die to save any one of his Clanmates.

history. Viperstep was born as Viperkit, to adulterous parents, alongside his sister Cactuskit (Cactusflower). He knew his biological sire only from the occasional visits, and became conflicted over the tumultuous relationship between his mother and his adoptive father, Darkfoot.

The curious but troubled Viperkit soon grew into the rambunctious Viperpaw, and his blatant disregard for the rules became apparent just as quickly. Because of this, his ascension from pupil to warrior status was delayed; this was the last straw that motivated the young tom to do better...or, at the very least, to cover his tracks better. He became less openly disobedient and more cunning, following the rules the majority of the time but unafraid to twist them to his needs when he felt it was warranted. Soon enough he was named a warrior, and became Viperstep, known as such for his quick reflexes.

It was perhaps his parents' shaky relationship that contributed to his skewed view of lawful tradition and his innate knack for deception, each key elements of infidelity in their own right. He also tends to avoid romantic attachments where he can, seeing them as a weakness and a liability.

@courtoflions - thank you for the interest <3 i mean as a general roleplay post since i know a lot of people have difficulty writing a huge amount of text at the beginning of a roleplay, so for now just per 250 per post! ;w; can't wait to see your warriors, i love palmear's name!!

Palmear is the quiet and somewhat antisocial type, but at the same time, he's incredibly patient with other cats. He also has a case of wanderlust, and hates being cooped up inside camp all day. Usually, he'll try to find work he can do outside of camp when he can, especially hunting. He's a bit of a lonely soul, and though he likes company, he's pretty socially awkward.

Palmear's mother, Morningstorm, had complications when she was kitting her litter of three, and ended up dying a few days after having Palmkit, Brightkit, and Lilykit. Lilykit was born very weak, and died not too long after their mother. With Palmkit and Brightkit surviving, their care was handed over to a queen who had room for two more kits, and their father, Sandypath, would visit often and bring gifts from the outside world. Growing up, especially as apprentices, Palmpaw and Brightpaw were adventurous and rebellious. Unfortunately, this ended in Brightpaw's demise as an eagle took her away right in front of him. It was a frightening experience for him, a day that brought him a plague of nightmares, and took him several moons to mentally recover. After that, he resumed his adventuring, and to this day is still quite the wanderer.

Lionstep is suave, gentlemanly, hardworking, and a generally calm cat with an excellent memory. However, he occasionally comes off as cold and distant. From time-to-time, when he's thinking hard about something, he'll sort of zone out and all of his senses seem almost nonfunctional. One of his major downfalls is that he is stubborn and ambitious, and once he sets his mind to something, he won't back off until he completely fails or succeeds. He also has a seemingly natural instinct of being paternal over friends and other loved ones, and will fuss over them and act overprotective.

Lionstep was the only kit born to a couple, but he spent little time with his mother in the nursery. He mainly went out and played with other kits, or pestered warriors and elders to tell him stories. When he became an apprentice, he'd work hard in training sessions and almost always got up early, and often had to be the one to wake up his mentor in the morning. In the meanwhile, he was trying to impress a longtime friend of his [and crush], Rosepaw. They became warriors together; Lionstep and Rosepool. They fell in love, though never became officially mates. One day, a patrol found her body in the water, and it appeared that she had drowned. Lionstep still mentions that he dearly misses her presence, but at the same time, he's ready to move on.

Cactusflower is shameless, cunning, wild, and very flirtatious. She seems like she's able to weasel her way out of almost any situation she gets herself into, and trust me, she stirs up some trouble often. She is a very brave she-cat, who's unafraid to get her paws dirty, but she struggles when it comes to fighting head-on. She is best at taking her foes by surprise, or tricking them. In conversations, she is intelligent and witty, but she gets jealous easily and has a bit of a temper. She simply adores kits, and would love some of her one someday, but there's one issue- she struggles with romantic commitment.

Cactusflower was born to a couple who had a rather rocky relationship, which only got worse when the kits were born. It was discovered that their mother, Rainspots, had cheated on her mate Darkfoot with a tom named Leafeyes, and that these kits were biologically Leafeyes'. Thankfully, Darkfoot didn't take it out on the kits, and treated them kindly, but he showed a clear grudge against their mother. Leafeyes occasionally checked in on the kits, but wasn't as affectionate toward them as Darkfoot. Cactusflower never particularly liked her mother, finding her mean and irritable, but many can find a few similarities between them.
