Astrid was born on July 4th in Seattle, Washington of the United States, located on Earth. She grew up in a small apartment, with her brother Michael, her mother Ingrid, and her father Charles. Being thirteen years her senior, Michael was only around for her first five years of life before he joined Starfleet, like their father and grandfather before them. He didn't last long; called into emergency duty during his first year, his ship was taken down by an unknown force. Despite this, Astrid always dreamed of the stars, demanding to hear her father's stories as a child. He had retired as a Commander, stepping away when Michael was a toddler. It was these stories that sparked the desire to go to space, and become part of Starfleet. Her mother had noticed her early fascination and tried to distract her growing up, allowing her to take dance and vocal lessons, attend acting camps, and sign up for science fairs at will; there was no way her mother was going to lose her to the same organization that took her son. But Astrid kept pursuing her dreams, and eventually landed in the Exoarchaeology major and on the fast-track to the Captain's chair. Excelling quickly and loving every minute of it, she graduated in four years, spending another three in hands-on training while climbing the ranks.

Astrid is one of the youngest Captains in Starfleet to be given a ship to command, and she's aware of that. It's a responsibility and an honor, and she doesn't take it lightly. Being in her position means she must think of her crew's safety and wellbeing at all times, find a balance between showing caution and being fearless, and think quickly; luckily, she's always held the traits necessary to do so. Having always been incredibly bright and quick-witted allows her mind to make connections in split-seconds and lets the snarky retorts to roll off her tongue with ease- the Captain is known for her witty remarks and playful bantering. However, she also tends to wear her heart on her sleeve, and this kindness and concern for those around her is a double-edged sword; it often betrays her and causes her to risk herself for others, but it saves innocent lives as well. But what most agree to be Astrid's strongest defining trait is her inner fire. It's in her wild eyes and broad grin when adrenaline sets in, and in her actions when she never hesitates to do what is right- it's what brought her this far. And as long as she has this fire, Astrid won't quit until her job is done and her crew is safe.

about their newest travels. by age eighteen, he finally decided to enroll into the sp-
ace program in which he endured some of the toughest tests and yet, he passed. he
then started as a simple nurse, before he slowly worked his way up the ranks. now
on the uss enterprise, in which he is now the chief medical officer. doctor francis is
ready for the road a head, and is excited for the new travels in space. this five year
mission is going to be a breeze.

Personality: Andrea is a people-person; she is outgoing and friendly

Andrea is hard-working which is admirable, but she is a perfectionist
and occasionally overworks herself, especially in stressful times when
everyone has things to do. Even when the work load is heavy, she keeps
things to herself and skips hours of sleep to get things done. Though

Andrea is blunt and direct. She avoids honey-coating the truth even

misconceptions to occur.

History: Ever since she was a child growing up in China, Andrea
wanted to join Starfleet. Her uncle, an engineer on a spacecraft, told
her many stories about space. She was determined to follow in her
uncle's footsteps. When her interest in learning different languages
became obvious, her uncle prompted her to learn the languages of
non-humans. This led to her dreams of becoming an exolinguist and
a communications officer. Her parents, though reluctant at first to let
her study abroad, eventually allowed her to attend Starfleet Academy.
Andrea was diligent in her studies and graduated with high marks. Her
hard work paid off as she was assigned to the USS Enterprise.

Satekhau largely follows the teachings of Surak- that is, rejecting emotion and embracing logic. However, in times of stress, his façade of pure logic can collapse fairly easily, especially if he senses that someone’s mistake could lead to a far worse situation emerging. He does recognise some idioms, but not a huge number, and, unusually for a Vulcan, will pretend to not know things he really does in non-critical situations as he finds it amusing.
Satekhau tries to remove all emotion from important judgements (which is a lot harder than he’s willing to admit even to himself once he’s decided he likes someone), and to use strict rules on what is the best action; and normally he errs on the side of the rules. He will willingly bend most principles if he thinks it will lead to a better situation overall, and will freely lie if he thinks that it is the best thing to do.
He is highly observant, and has extensive knowledge in sciences- although primarily in the fields that most interest him, and, of course, a good grasp of the physics of space flight.
Satekhau has poor emotional skills generally, and often has little or no idea how to react to other individuals’ emotional outbursts. What emotions he does show are normally involuntary and subtle.
He speaks Modern Vulcan as his first language, but he does have plenty of experience with English.

History:
Satekhau was born on New Vulcan to a half-human mother (his grandfather being of Brazilian heritage) and a Vulcan father, among the expanding population. He was the youngest son of four children, and he resented (although he would never use that word for himself) that Vulcans had essentially been reduced to fighting as hard as they could for their species long term survival for generations. He wanted, since he was very young, to actually use his abilities in the sciences to help in inter-species provisions, and so when he saw the opportunity to sign up for Starfleet Academy, he took it with little hesitation. He took a special interest into sciences quickly, and chose to join the new ship as soon as he could, seeing no real purpose in advancing higher in the ranks in the Academy without any field experience.
