I, myself, have never roleplayed an animal until now that wasn't heterosexual. I'm doing it just to see what I can do really. Besides, having animals in the roleplay that are non-hetero will be interesting because it creates new decisions you normally wouldn't have. I honestly like the openness of it, even if it seems a little unrealistic (though I can find myself believing nightosphere's rundown on everything).

And that's my opinion. XD

aaah I hope I didn't start something ! I know there's the possibility for lost kits / taking in a kittypet or loner :b im queer myself and I have no problem with gay cats (obviously, none of my cats are hetero if I remember) but now that I think about it the clan has a decent amount of members right now so they probably wouldn't need any kits, and if we do, we could always have a new loner put into the rp or a couple to adopt a new kit :b

Not at all, Faerie. I am full LGBT+ support. I'm not 'queer' but I'm not homophobic either. x3 In fact, I feel most at home around queer people oddly enough. I used to have a small group in high school that I was friends with of whom were all lesbians. ^.^ So it's quite alright, Faerie.

lol sorry if I went on a lil rant. this type of
discussion is something I'm really passionate
about and people don't always want to hear
me babble on about animal psychology. didn't
intend to come of as argumentative. I just
really love talking about homosexuality in
animals. it's relatively new research and I
find it really interesting

but, you're absolutely right! while most social
species have individuals with homosexual
tendencies (fun fact: most frequently found
in birds) at least to my knowledge, cats have
yet to display this aside from mistaking a
neutered male for a female which isn't to be
acknowledged as anything other than
confusion.

the most probable reason for this is that
cats aren't really supposed to be social. I
mean, there's lions, which are a whole other
subject. their entire everything is really
interesting to study! but aside from lions,
cats don't have the means, desire, or need
to be social. at least they shouldn't! in all
other feline species, the only peaceful
communication between adults is only for
mating. and even then, things can backfire.

domestic cats are very interesting because
unlike every other animal we can consider
a pet, humans did not intend to domesticate
cats, they domesticated themselves and
people were just like "huh. I guess you're
pretty cool. you can hang out here and keep
killing my mice" buuuuuut what I'm getting at
here is that cats are only recently developing
skills necessary for a social species, since they
are expected to live among other cats and
they are adapting to it very fast, considering!

they still lack empathy, but I think at this
rate they will develop very complex social
skills. as of now, their communication is very
simple and basic but oh man has it grown a
lot! however, with humans being more than
eager to care for abandoned or orphaned
kittens, and the population control being
done by human interference, I don't think
homosexuality will develop in cats.

buuuut in the sense of a warriors setting,
where cats are much further along when it
comes to complex emotions such as empathy
and other skills only developed in very social
species, and with little to no "two-leg"
interference when it comes to controlling the
means of reproduction, homosexuality should
be present in the clans. I dunno about you but
the entire concept of that is pretty cool. very
unlikely in the real world, but almost unavoid
-able in the setting of a clan.

:O It's not a problem nightosphere! I am adoring your 'rants' and I love learning more about animals! I'm a full on animal lover and in fact, speaking of domestic cats, I actually am taking care of four of them right now. :3 The facts you're presenting are extremely interesting to read so by all means, continue your rambling if you'd like to! I love learning about everything I can in animals and I would become an animal veterinarian but I have a huge anxiety about gore and the noises associated with it to the point I faint from too much of it

True fact: my mom said I fainted while I was playing WoW on the computer when she was watching a TV show that'd just had an airplane crash and people were crying out in pain and it was showing bones splintered out of their skin, among other things. Unfortunately I was tuned into it, too because I even told my mom to turn it down but she was stubborn and didn't so I was forced to listen to it. She said the next thing she knew she'd heard a thud and my head was on the desk and as soon as she muted the TV and called my name, I came back around. I don't remember fainting but then, people usually don't. x3 Not only that, I couldn't bare looking at a small poodle's leg who'd gotten run over by a car that me and mom had to take to the vet for the owner. I felt utterly sick and every time one of my cats' needs a shot from the vet, I have to leave the room because I can't stand their cries. So yea, sadly, a veterinarian isn't the job for me.

Also... sorry for my own ramblings. XD I got a little off topic, eh? XD

@faerie, I find your first comment to be a bit rude, as I made this LGBT+ accepting for a reason and whoever wants their cats to be gay can. right now the focus is not on reproduction, it is on the prophecy. and there is a perfectly fine amount of cats that can possibly reproduce. And we have one queen already.

@Daisy, you say it is unrealistic, but that is actually false. in nature, there are many species that express homosexuality.


@everyone, I made this roleplay LGBT+ for good reasons and it was meant to be a good thing. respectfully, anyone that has a problem with that may leave. and whether it's realistic or not, it's just a roleplay! once I am assured this has cleared up, I will assign apprentices and we will start.
