For as long as anyone can remember there have been two packs were the ocean meets the land. Block in by mountain ranges and protected other packs who would compete for the seaside territories. For the most part the two packs ignored each other except for the occasional border squall over the years. This however, was not to last. A new and formidable entity has arisen that will force the packs to come together, or fall.
Plot:
So the plot of this role play is that there are two packs who live along side the ocean. They don’t get along very well and there have been a couple of fights over the years that has resulted in losses from both sides. Now something they call the Mist has been slowly spreading over the mainland and has taken over much of the old hunting and den grounds, forcing the packs to be in closer contact and therefore causing more fighting over land and prey. The wolves fear the mist, only one wolf who has ever entered has come out. The closer they get the more there is a strange ringing sound in their ears. Now with winter upon them, the packs can’t go on killing each other with the rapidly declining prey. So it has been agreed that the two packs become one for the time being. It is a risky agreement as now the packs are living together with other wolves that may have killed their loved ones and for the most part don’t trust each other.
*I know there isn’t much fantasy stuff right now since there are no powers and what not but trust me, that will come into the plot later! This setting is based off of a book I’m writing so I’ve got some cool stuff planned!*

Ranks
Alpha Male:
The alpha male leads the pack as a whole. He is the highest in command second only to his mate the alpha female. He determines how the pack is run, who get what jobs as well as in charge of the interactions between other packs. The alpha male is often one of the strongest members of the pack since he has to fight off competitors.
Alpha female:
The alpha female is the co leader second only to her mate, the alpha male. Her main job is to lead and organize the hunters. She determines where and how they are going to hunt and maps out where they will go. During the hunt she has more power than her mate should be listened to but the alpha male decides who gets what after a big kill. Only when she is close to or having pups will she step down for a bit and let another female take charge but only rarely since they mostly have pups in the spring when there is enough small game to not have large hunts.
Betas(Mostly Males(Only accepting male betas now)):
These guys are directly under the alphas. They are in charge of protecting the pack from any threats, rival packs, other predators, etc. They are highly respected and do have some level of authority but not as much as the alphas. Because being a beta means you must be big and strong betas are predominantly males because males have a stronger build.
Hunter(Mostly females):
The Hunters are equal to the betas. They are the hunters of the pack who bring home most of the food in during a hunt are the runners to bring down big game. This is a very dangerous job. The leader of the hunters is the alpha female. The Hunters are mostly female since females are generally smaller and faster than the males
Omega(all genders):
Contrary to popular belief, the omegas are highly important members of the pack. The job of the omegas is to keep the tension in the pack to not rise to a breaking point and to keep everyone happy. In the case of an argument the omegas are there to defuse arguments before they result into violence. They are often bullied and bossed around by the higher ranks. The Alphas will often consult with Omegas to ask for opinions on how to approach other packs and as well as for insight as to what is going on in the pack. Omegas also help with taking care of the pups.
Demoted Omega(all genders):
Different from the normal Omegas, these are wolves that were once part of the other ranks but did something bad enough to have them thrown from the ranks into the lowest member of the pack. Though technically the same as normal omegas, these wolves really don’t do the same jobs. They aren't allowed to train the pups or be part of pack negotiations. These guys mostly just change wolves beddings and den maintenance, take care of the elders, and really whatever odd jobs the pack needs them to do. This is also the stage loner will enter the pack into but these newbies quickly rise through the ranks.
Elders(all genders):
The Elders are a highly respected branch of the pack. They are either wolves who have grown to old to do their old jobs and now live out their lives in comfort or are fallen heros of the pack or are crippled to do their old jobs. THEY HAVE THE VERY IMPORTANT JOB OF STORY KEEPERS! (If you choose to be an elder I will pm you some of the lore!) Pups are spent to spend a lot of time with the elders to learn from them.
Queens(Females):
