the species "torivor" belongs to brandon mull and his works, though I felt inspired and created a sort of "off brand" torivor if you will. torivors ( tore • eye • vors ) as mr. mull intended, where characterized as "living shadow". they could move with extreme grace and had strength and flexibility far greater than that of a human's. when seen with a sword, they symbolized death, mainly because if one showed itself to you baring a sword, you would not survive the next few days. torivorian blades far exceeded human craftsmanship, and generally were lighter, stronger, and never received a scratch or smudge. torivors had no defining features and no mouth, nose, eyes, etc. instead, they saw and communicated with their minds. for the sake of anime fcs, I chose to modify this species a tad. my form of torivor has both a human and shadow form. they still lack vocal chords when in human form, so they still must communicate through telepathy. thy are pretty much the same otherwise, except for their weaknesses. my form of torivor can be overloaded with information and therefore distracted from its surroundings. secondly, one of the only weapons that can truly and permanently injure a torivor is their own swords. if you can manage to strike a torivor with a torivorian sword, it will either trap him in a human form and limit his abilities, or if the wound is large enough, completely erase the torivor from existence.

rokuzou kiian | fallen angel | negative / neutral - xie has always viewed rokuzou as weak; a hatred that was almost satisfied when one of her brethren took his wings. however, his persistent optimism deeply irritates xie, and she desires to see his downfall. despite this petty view, she respects roku's abilities and authority.
moriko kimura | mazoku | negative ✘ - xie has always despised the race to which moriko belongs. sufficed to say, other than the fact that moriko supports rokuzou, xie's distaste mainly comes from that fact.
shizuko nakano | manticore | negative ✘ - xie views shizuko's blindness as an imperfection and imperfection, no matter the demon's view of perfect, earns immediate distrust and dislike from her. part xie's hatred roots from a saying she composed: "weak people align with others of their kind."
yoichi nakamura | torivor | negative / neutral - xie respects yoichi, though only because of his race. she shares in the opinion that their true form is more comely than their human one, and therefore shares the same distaste when it comes to him, however, she does not underestimate his abilities, and therefore does not totally despise him.
saki | weapon shifter | negative - xie'e hates that saki is similar to yoichi in personality. that whole "quiet, don't talk to me, don't touch me, don't even look at me" mindset sets the demoness off.
dee | ghost | positive - possible friendship - no matter how much xie'e hates herself for it, she just can't help but like dee. he is a fascinating creature to her, since she has not come across many ghosts in her time surprisingly. she would love to talk with him and get to know more about him.
aislinn yume | psychic | negative / neutral - xie'e doesn't know much about the yume girl, but what she does know, she doesn't like. aislinn, in the demoness's eyes, is useless in helping with anything, since she is a mere projection of a sleeping girl. she hates weakness more than anything, and the fact that roku doesn't step in and kick aislinn to the curb angers her. that's just like roku, which makes her burning hatred worse when it comes to aislinn.

kazuo yanai | nephilim | positive ♥ - xie admires the strength and loyalty kazuo shows towards the members of his team. she knows from personal experience how hard it can be to loose a part of yourself, and though she will deny it, has compassion towards the leader. she enjoys being around him, unlike anyone else, and is confused about her feelings towards him.
akane himura | human ( ?? ) | neutral - xie does not know much about akane, and quite frankly doesn't care all that much. she admires akane's abilities in fighting and swordplay, and her determination and undying loyalty to kazuo.
nina boucher | hala demon | positive - possible friendship - xie has a high respect for nina, though mainly because of her abilities and the fact that she is a demon. the demon of destruction has not necessarily looked up to nina, but sometimes envies her powers; coveting the fact that nina can create out of nothing, rather than destroy.
nozomi higashiyama | siren | neutral - xie isn't quite sure what do do with herself around nozomi. she admires that the siren was willing to set herself apart from others, but it is the fact that all siren's must do to get their way is sing that puts the demon on edge. she would be able to hold a polite conversation with nozomi, but she would also take caution to guard her mind, lest she fall under a spell.
jin kiian | angel ( virtue ) | positive / neutral - I'm not quite sure you could call what xie'e feels towards jin exactly positive, but she does enjoy riling him up, and teasing him about roku. she would listen to his instruction if given, but would definitely give him grief about it.

kieran andrews | human mage | negative neutral - xie doesn't care much for things not going on around her, and people that do not choose a side irritate her beyond measure. though she may change her view of him if he were to align with lunaris.
faolan | hellhound | negative - xie has never cared for hellhounds and their reckless behavior. she openly mocks the breed, and would never associate herself with a beast of their kind. she views them as inferior and unintelligent.
jinx himura | nekomata | negative - xie has always hated gluttony, though at times she commits open hypocrisy on this belief. she has never understood the desire for strong drink, for information, or for earthly pleasures, and refuses to try to. the demon may exchange pleasantries with jinx when they meet, but she will most certainly refuse to have a kind conversation with him.
akihiko harusaki | nephilim | positive neutral - xie'e knew hiko before he was made a demon, and she often pricks him with small teasing comments about it. she enjoys his company though, and will often spend time talking to him about times long past.

rokuzou kiian | fallen angel | positive ☯ - yoichi greatly admires rokuzou's determination and loyalty to his team. he is grateful that roku was strong enough to want to help others rather than lash out at his loss, since without amaterasu the torivor might as well be dead. he enjoys talking with the founder and savors the lighthearted attitude surrounding him.
moriko kimura | mazoku | positive - possible friendship - yoichi takes great interest in moriko's amnesia and is steadfast in his determination to help her cure it. he enjoys her helpful spirit and visits her at times to help cure his pessimism.
shizuko nakano | manticore | positive / neutral - yoichi supports each member of amaterasu, though he is not sure of himself near creatures such as manticores. the two races have a long history of skirmishes and disagreements and though he does not agree with most torivorian beliefs, as one of them he shares the same caution around beings such as this. if they met, however, he would not be harsh or rude, but more cautious and reserved.
saki | weapon shifter | positive /neutral - possible friendship - yoichi and saki seem to hold a mutual respect for each other, but with both of them being so quiet and wary of people, yoichi doesn't know much about saki.
dee | ghost | positive - possible friendship - yoichi finds dee fascinating. he feels horrible that dee feels so alone and out of place, and he sees himself in the boy. each opportunity he gets, he tries to give dee the stable life he wished he could have had, and he desperately hopes that dee will come out of his shell; something yoichi thinks is impossible for himself.
aislinn yume | psychic | positive - possible friendship - yoichi feels horrible for aislinn and has determined to do everything possible to help her situation. he, like with everyone else, is reserved and cautious around her, but he always feels a sort of calm around her and he is slowly coming about of his isolated corner around her.

kazuo yanai | nephilim | negative ✘ - yoichi respects the power kazuo has rallied, but hates him for using that force for evil. torivors are not known to care much for the people and beings that surround them, but yoichi resents the fact that kazuo manipulates and uses others to accomplish his will.
akane himura | human ( ?? ) | negative ✘ - yoichi hates that akane may be one to rival his swordsmanship. torivors measure their worth in their fencing and fighting abilities, and his distaste for akane is fueled by her heightened skills. he looks constantly for the opportunity to prove his sword is stronger than hers.
nina boucher | hala demon | negative ✘ - demons and torivors have never gotten along, and this is no different for yoichi and nina. he despises the strength demons have just been given, rather than having to work for their skills. they tend to choose the wrong side in yoichi's eyes, and he wants nothing more than to put them in their place.
xié'è shòu | demon of destruction | negative ✘ - xie and yoichi have an extensive past; one that he hates to recall. she is the reason he was sent here to amaterasu in the first place, and he is fueled by his desire for revenge.
nozomi higashiyama | siren | negative / neutral - like with demons, yoichi hates that all nozomi has to do to force her will upon others is sing. she did not have to work for such talents, and has chosen the wrong side, but yoichi cannot help but notice her beauty, and therefore would probably be able to have a polite conversation; despite the fact that he would have otherwise considered this to be treachery.
jin kiian | angel ( virtue ) | negative ✘ - yoichi hates jin for betraying his family. it brings up painful memories of his past, and he would gladly welcome the chance to punch this kiian in the face a few times.

kieran andrews | human mage | neutral - yoichi does not pay much attention to those who have not chosen a side, though he is slightly more cautious around them, since they could be swayed into joining either side.
faolan | hellhound | neutral - yoichi feels horrible for faolan, as he is stuck in one form, though he does not concern himself with either finding a way to heal him or spending time around him. if faolan where to search in amaterasu for help however, then yoichi might take some interest.
jinx himura | nekomata | negative - in torivorian culture, to hoard, to sell information, and to drink is frowned upon, and it does not help yoichi's view of jinx that he will never be satisfied. "take what you need, and nothing more," is a strong belief of his, and jinx's tenancy to want more and more causes distrust and distaste between the two.
akihiko harusaki | nephilim | neutral - yoichi isn't sure whether he entirely trusts hiko, since he spends so much time with lunaris, but he has never actively taken up arms against amaterasu. for this reason, the two have formed a precarious truce. yoichi enjoys speaking with the nephilim and enjoys his large vault of knowledge. often, yoichi will consult hiko about maatters which confound him.

rokuzou kiian | fallen angel | positive neutral - hiko has never really taken interest in the war between heaven and hell, and therefore doesn't mind being around roku. but the fact that roku is always putting on a smile unnerves him a tad. not everyone can always be happy. however, he often consults roku about issues and enjoys talking with him.
moriko kimura | mazoku | positive - moriko is somewhat of a mystery to hiko, but he enjoys her lighthearted attitude and determination to help. when more delicate matters come up, akihiko will turn to her for help or advice.
shizuko nakano | manticore | neutral - hiko doesn't know much about shizuko nor does he care all that much. he would certainly be able to carry out a decent conversation with the manticore, but friendship seems a long way off.
yoichi nakamura | torivor | positive neutral - yoichi seems to enjoy speaking with hiko about various things and often consults him about baffling matters. dealing with people has never been a strongsuit for the nephilim, but after being alive for as long as he has, he enjoys the challenge yoichi always brings to their conversations.
saki | weapon shifter | neutral - hiko can sense that saki prefers to be left alone, much like yoichi, so he hasn't bothered to really get to know him. out of the time he's spent at amaterasu, hiko can only remember one short conversation with the shifter.
dee | ghost | positive neutral - though hiko doesn't really concern himself with the welfare of the members of amaterasu, he has taken an interest in dee. he enjoys spending time talking with dee, and would be very interested in getting to know more about the ghost.
aislinn yume | psychic | neutral - newcomer is the first thing that pops into hiko's mind when he thinks of the girl. he isn't quite sure how to go about talking with her, so most of the time, he doesn't bother.

strangely enough, this poor siren cannot swim. at all. she can change form as long as one limb is in contact with water, but she only prefers to be in shallow waters.
