The shrine maidens, each holding the power of a singular Pokemon
that could manipulate the forces of nature, were put in charge of
keeping the balances between the nine different natures. Fire, w-
ater, electric, dark, psychic, ice, grass, fairy and normal. These
elements were imbued in nine different Pokemon, all stemming f-
rom the same base Pokemon: Eevee.
The shrine maidens were considered holy beings, blessed by Arceus
itself to control the overwhelming power. Trained from young, they
were chosen by the Pokemon choosing their protector and partner.
However, as life does, the maidens grew older and older, and their
decease would soon arise that would allow a spindle of chaos to c-
ome forth by their absences.
Thus, the search for the next generation came forth.

They found the next to hold the energies of the Pokemon in nine o-
ther people, however untrained they were, and bargained to have
them take the places of the withering maidens. Despite their inex-
perience, most took on the duty of the maidens, bonding with their
chosen partners to take in and withhold the energies of the world.
However, there were two that refused these roles. The role of the
sun, of psychic, and the role of the moon, dark.
The sun, in their greed, took the powers of Espeon, the sun Pokemo-
n, fleeing far away. The moon, having no care for the politics of ba-
lance, left the powers of Umbreon to run amok, sending the world i-
nto chaotic darkness.
Without its energy, Espeon, too, grew withered as the old shrine mai-
dens did, only kept alive by the lingering remains between itself and
its maiden. In contrast, Umbreon could not hold its powers, the with-
ering quality of its maiden causing the power to continue to multiply
and overrun.
This pushed the world into darkness, near absolute, and the sun had
not returned the next morning, Espeon's powers being gone.
When the shrine maidens passed on, seven of the nine giving their ro-
les to the new generation, Espeon, too, went with them. Leaving U-
mbreon on its own and distorting the already-broken order, the mo-
on Pokemon hid itself away in the darkest confines of the Earth, re-
moving itself from even the other elements that it had been so atta-
ched to. Yet even still, darkness continued its descent on the Earth,
light stolen.
The chain of the Shrine Maidens continued, yet Espeon was never se-
en again, nor was Umbreon ever witnessed to come out of wherever
it had gone to hide. Without Espeon, light did not shine upon the lan-
ds below, and with no control over Umbreon, the darkness did not st-
op.

As a result, the people were forced to live in darkness, become used
to the lack of sun, hoping that one day the Sun Pokemon would be f-
ound, and that the Moon Pokemon would be subdued.
It was then that the castle appeared. Labeled the Castle of the Sun,
the only light that showed came from this area. The Castle of the S-
un became the beacon of light, commanding armies of Pokemon so
great that none who had not pledged themselves to the Sun King co-
uld near the area. And, unless you were of high class, the Sun King
would not take you.
Thus rose the era of the Sun King.
You are in control of one of the elements of nature, bonded with y-
our partner and supplementing one another with the powers that
move the world. With the rising power of the Sun King and the loss
of Umbreon, the forces of nature are acting up. It has become your
job to not only watch after your partner, yourself and your element,
but to find Umbreon and break down the tyrannical reign of the th-
ief of the Sun, the King himself.
Alongside the other Shrine "Maidens", you must work together and
fix the balances of the world before, truly, you are unable to stop
it.
