Although Seraph feels like she doesn't have as much to offer the
princess as the others, she supports Alanna and does not deny her
company. She may be subtly be envious of Alanna's talents and
innocence, but in a way that makes Seraph want to help her
overcome obstacles and keep her head held high during these
times.

Seraph looks at Nari and sometimes finds herself surprised by her.
She admires her fighting style and loyalty to the princess, and,
she may have met with Seraph right off the bat seeming untrust-
worthy wearing a mask and keeping things to herself, but she tries
to make up for it. Basically being raised to live and fight blind she
understands Nari's struggle being half-deaf and wants her to live
with it in a better than fear that it will get worse.

Don't misunderstand; Seraph trusts Ace and finds him to be very
reliable. She just knows that he is hiding all his past and actual
self behind his fine smile. She knows because she's done the
same. Otherwise He isn't as much as a lateral thinker as Seraph
so you wouldn't find them planning something together without
a little brief arguing, but Seraph tries to understand how his
thoughts work.

Seraph respects Kalea and her knowledge behind her powers
and the story behind it. She keeps her relatively assured about
everyone else and her own destiny. Most of the times it's this
particular dragon Seraph goes to for answers or even a little
guidance due to how patient Kalea is with her.

Seraph has never had any strong beliefs in her life before, but
Caliban is a good example. He's someone that Seraph can just
sit quietly with or discuss personal thoughts without it being
odd, and he's usually the first to catch her missing if she
decides to wander off. She currently does not mind him being
over protective because it's been years since Seraph has ever
even been wanted to be safe by anyone else, and she's not
afraid to find out what angers him, but respects his space.

It was a rough start. Seraph treats everyone in pretty much the
same way and apparently it wasn't good enough for Levei. He
drives her insane sometimes but remembers that his family
left him too and looks beyond the fact that he's a condescending
little- you get it. Though if he is willing to listen and not look
down on her, Seraph will be happy to open up to him.

Seraph has no way of changing what another person thinks, and
doesn't like to. She had no previous confections with Maria and
even finds she lays out some good points with the wrongdoings
problems in the kingdom and wouldn't point out that what she

and does not take it nicely.

Seraph is quite easygoing, and can tolerate any kind of personality
to a certain extent. Living on her own for such a while makes
it unnecessary for her to stay in a group and she may even go
and wander off without telling anyone. She just prefers to
think and act alone, but now she is constantly expanding her
means of cooperating and articulating herself. Seraph became
very openminded once she started traveling with the company.
She starts off quiet, listening and observing rather than being
more outspoken around people she doesn't know. She tends to
stay this way towards people she doesn't like well, being respectful
but not too eager to respond. With people she is more fond with,
she begins to open up and speak more, giving off an enthusiastic vibe
no one would believe could be produced by such a girl. Even if she
isn't the other person's favorite, she will continue to be kind to
them, because she knows how it feels to be rejected and frowned
upon and she doesn't want anyone to hurt in that same way ever on
her watch. She encourages crafts and stories within the group and
has a skill she often overlooks with taking care of horses and dogs
and hunting/tracking because it's what she grew up knowing, and
with all the other talents and skills the others have, she often
forgets what she can do.
She continues to be an optimist, however, she is still both
literally and metaphorically behind a mask.

history - "born an orphan in a small village on the border of laven ace grew up on the streets surviving however he could. not only street smart ace, through books, has learned about medicine and the world."

Growing up in the borders of Laven, Ace was an orphan. His mother, gone by the time he could think. His father, killed by the gang that took him in. One of Ace's first memories was of a scarred man leaning down and whining "can't we keep it?" Ace was a rough kid. He's a rough guy. With a twisted sense of right and wrong that's hard to budge. When he was told about his father's killing he just shrugged. "Why should I care? I never knew the guy." The gang brought him up that way, and liked his dedication. Ace wasn't the one raiding villiages though - he was the guy that tended to the injured, the gang members injured by the villiagers and their pitchforks. He was the kid that entertained the gang with songs after a day of ransacking. He didn't like the books he read 24/7 but he read them for his leader. And became the smartest guy in the gang. All for the leader, his patchwork "father". Soon the gang began thinking big. Attacked the towns surrounding Las. They swallowed them all up and Ace had to survive. Learned how to pickpocket. How to stab a guy and make a quick get away. He had no ties, nobody to fight for. He had no reason to live. Ace'd tag along with any travellers he could.

Ace has an extremely straightforward and blunt way of handling people. He was raised by bandits and saw death, corruption and crime on a daily basis and yet was a suprisingly smart kid. Ace saw the hierarchy of the world and the millions of holes that came with it as a cruel joke. He hated the way the mind worked, always looking for order, for a plan - no matter how horrifying it might be. And so he thought himself a lunatic. If he didn't think like everyone else then what else would he be? Was his justification for it. Ace believes that the only rational way to live is to live without rules. Without boundaries. Of course - Ace was human. He still had the same instincts and general concept of the morals that everyone else has. He was not so insane he'd kill his own but sometimes he wished he was.

In many ways the Princess confuses Ace. Although he respects her strong will and suprising determination, he can't help but not understand her opinion on hurting others. Why not fight back if you've been hurt? Ace finds it hard to understand many of the Princesses' morals but is fascinated by her fancy way of talking and holding herself. Through Alanna, Ace is able to put aside his distrust of royalty because of this interest.

Kalea is one of the few people he believes he can relate to on a deeper
level. She's a happy, enthusiastic person - the type of person Ace loves
- but sometimes the doc is able to see some scars behind that ever young
layer of skin. He always enjoys Kalea's company, whatever the mood or
occasion. Despite his confusion for her selflessness and eagerness to
protect. Ace doesn't like seeing her fight. As a doctor and as a close friend
he can't stand watching the body he sees everyday tear apart over and over.
He would always come to Kalea first if he had a problem.

Confused by Cal's fixation on morals, Ace respects the green dragon's
strength and loyalty. In both the gentle way he handles his friends and his
sharp tongue, Cal almost reminds the doc of his old foster family. So the
familiarity means that Cal's presence is suprisingly relaxing and for the most
part they enjoy each others company.

Despite their often conflicting opinions, Ace loves the eccentricity you can
find in Seraph. Though sometimes when they talk he swears she can see right
through him with those beautiful eyes of hers - the way she handles herself both
in and out of battle fascinates the doctor. One day he hopes that he'll see
underneath that mask, not for the eyes of the blue dragon but for the person that
might be hiding away down their.

Although for the most part, Ace doesn't like the royal, pompous way Livei acts
and holds a distrust due to his background, the doc can appreciate the intellect
behind the dragons pretty face. Though, something about the older boy
reminds him of a child and Ace often feels the need to mother him around.
While this relationship doesn't exactly erase the doctor's dislike of the white
dragon and his background - it helps to create some sort of understanding
between the two.

Ace does not know Vonrai. At least, not closely. Though the doc believes that
taking the throne was a clever and understandable move. The whole idea of a
monarchy - despite Ace understanding the need for one - disgusts the young
man but it would never work with a soft leader. Anyone with power should be
ruthless, and not be afraid to clean away the terrible parts of society. Clean
away parts like his foster family. Maybe even himself. But Ace would never join
Vonrai and his associates. Both, not to be part of Vonrai's "system" and
because of the doc's belief that you can never control something. He believes
royalty to be schemers, always trying to control. And Ace sees these attempts.
To control their little worlds. As pathetic - which is partly why the Princess
interests him so much.

Saskia is a tough, capable young woman, trained from her childhood in the art of war, and a master at swordplay. She is more than able to make up for her half-lost sight and lack of depth perception with sheer skill, wariness, and quick reactions in the heat of battle. Born to a poor family and growing up seeing how little the king cared about his people hardened her heart against him, even as she fought in his army when she was older. When she heard about the usurper, she pledged her sword to him out of the belief that he could finally fix the country that was falling apart and full of corruption and bandits. She is often wary, cautious and mistrustful, especially of nobility and authority figures, and she usually struggles to open up to others about personal matters even if she's known them for a while. However, this does not apply when expressing her opinions and feelings about others. In this, she is honest, blunt and straightforward, sometimes harshly so.

At heart, though, she is caring and kind. She hates to see innocent people suffer and will do what she can to help them. She has a strong sense of justice and believes being idle while others suffer is one of the worst crimes there is, close to doing the actual crime yourself! She's something of a hothead, for she does not take insults lightly, whether towards herself or another that she respects, and is easily angered. This can make her rash, because once she is angered she often abandons caution. Her lack of patience can drive her to do foolish things, such as take on numbers she has no hope of defeating out of sheer blind anger and determination to obtain justice. If someone else is with her, she can be stopped by a hand on the shoulder and some reasonable words, though she will still be angry. This is not a good trait to have in battle, and she knows it. She's been lucky to avoid causing lasting issues by making impulsive choices fueled by anger. It limits her prospects of becoming more than a foot-soldier, as well as being a rare woman soldier and having one eye. Her skill is simply undeniable, though, and it balances her issues out more.

Once Saskia trusts and believes in you, she is strongly loyal. She is protective of those she cares about- too many she cared about have been lost before- but if she feels someone she trusts has done wrong, then she will not entirely ignore it, for her sense of justice matches her loyalty. She will probably first try and figure out why you have done wrong first, though, if she has come to trust you. If she is betrayed, she is not one to easily forgive, if ever, and she will NOT forget. She is always ready for the worst to come, but she is beginning to believe that things will get better, though she doesn't let it cloud her wariness. Saskia is often determined to the point of stubbornness once she has decided on something- but she isn't entirely unreasonable, and she wouldn't be so stupid as to do something foolish just to be stubborn.

The soldier is also a workaholic, without much of a sense of humor- due to a childhood with potential danger looming over every free moment, work always had to come first, and she got very little free time. Nowadays, in her free time she is always looking for something productive to do, and gets restless without something, for she's uptight and doesn't really know how to relax. In truth, she's half-forgotten what it is to be happy and at peace, for moments like that were sparing for her, and they became all but nonexistent since her father died. But no matter what she's like, she's tired of a kingdom where the king and his daughter let crimes happen unchecked, where the country is picked apart. She wants a better ruler, and she believes the usurper is the one. She will continue to do so unless he proves otherwise.

Helping her father in the day to day running of the kingdom at the age of sixteen Maiara saw the impact of the kings cowardly foreign policies on the people that they were supposed to be protecting. Witnessing their territory shrinking day by day and thwarting plot after plot to undermine the king Maiara's frustration slowly grew until the day her father passed away from a heart attack. Knowing her father's death was indirectly the kings fault jaded Maiara all the more, she loved the kingdom and it's people but she could not stand behind a man who was responsible for the kingdoms suffering. Desperate to stop the slow but steady invasions by the neighboring kingdoms and the corruption that was eating away at the court Maiara turned to the usurper whose rule, she believed, would bring stability to the crumbling kingdom.

When Aldrien first came to her with his proposition Maiara
placed all of her hopes for the kingdom in him. Now they
work in tandem with each other to fix all the problems
caused by the previous king. Often the one to keep
Aldrien on task and focused Maiara respects the man who
overthrew the crown to try and save the people.
