small amount of free time roaming the city where she inevitably witnessed plenty of violence and crimes. she hated how she could do nothing to
help and how weak she was. that feeling grew stronger one day when sabine was twelve and the victim was her mother. after being mugged and
killed, her mother's body was found in the streets.

in tears, she sought help from damian montello, a family friend. they buried her mother's body together, and after explaining everything to damian,
he offered to teach sabine how to fight so she could protect herself and her brother. her training began about two weeks after her mother's death
when she had finally secured a job. sabine spent her morning preparing the days meals and cleaning, her day working, her evening getting her
little brother ready for bed, and her night training with damian.

this process continued for about five years, wearing her down all the while. then one day her brother was captured by a family who really needed
money. they sold him instead of their own children. in the process of taking her brother, they accidentally burned sabine's home down. with
nowhere to go, she spent her days on the streets looking for her brother. somewhere along the way, she was recruited by the reapers.
