Being the firstborn to the Stadoran royal family, Arina grew up in the royal palace located in the centre of their kingdom. Her days were spent with many different tutors who educated her on several subjects: geography, politics, dancing, economics, languages, and plenty more that bored her to tears. As a child, her favorite time was when she could spend the evenings with her parents. On a rare occasion, Arina would have half a day to herself, and she would take the time to find a quiet, secluded area where she could reenact the story of how her parents had come to be married and rule over their own kingdom in the sky. The tale of how her mother traveled all around the world to find her father, a man who could turn into a stunning white falcon, and how she would only see him again if she broke three pairs of iron shoes, three iron staffs and ate three loaves of stale bread on her search. The journey would carry the small girl through several courtyards of the palace and her nursemaids would inevitably be the witches Maria had encountered.

Arina can be described by her subjects as a quiet and shy girl, though her servants and family would offer a different opinion. Those who grew up alongside her are familiar with her quirky, extraverted traits that never fail to make people smile. Despite her serious nature when in court, the first princess of Stadora has a sense of humor that shocks many people who don't know her. A fairly agreeable girl, Arina does her best to please as many people as possible by carefully considering possible actions and their consequences as well as rewards. Not only driven to make her fellow Stadorans happy, Arina also likes being able to see her friends and family smile as much as possible and will go to lengths beyond imagination for a few moments of joy to brighten someone's day.

Born two years before her sister, Claudia was raised with her father on his pirate ship, spending years on the open waters before she discovered her ability to breathe underwater. Those years weren't wasted, though. Claudia spent every day on her father's ship practicing her fighting skills (with and without a sword), rigging the lines, charting courses both at night and during the day (as well as during storms and bad weather). Once she learned of her talent (inherited from her siren mother), Claudia began diving below the waves to find treasure and anything else her father and his crew might want. At the age of twelve, her father set course for the cove of the sirens, where he said Claudia could meet her younger half-sister.

The boring inlet, full of gorgeous women who hated humans, was enough to make Claudia want to hurl. Her only saving grace was Nerissa, her (half) sister. The two got along rather well, considering their personalities and attitudes. Being raised as the daughter of Captain James Hook, the arch nemesis of Peter Pan, Claudia has more than enough arrogance to smother a platoon of soldiers. Her condescending attitude betrays her apathetic nature, she sees herself as something like a deity so she doesn't care about anyone else. One strange, almost soft, aspect of Claudia is her fondness of the ocean, be it swimming or sailing. Because she and her sister are so close after the years they've spent together that they got matching tattoos on her right foot.
