Klaus, aged 25, currently resides in the kingdom of Aeralya with a living as a smith. He originally hails from Skaga, where his family ran a forge. He learned his trade from his mother, a skilled craftswoman. His father was a sailor and wasn't one for staying put for any length of time. In the winter of his 20th year, the weather was so harsh that the crops died off early before harvest and the land was left ravished. His mother developed a sickness and died not long afterwards. For a time, Klaus continued to run the forge but business in the area died down as people moved away from the village to live in the cities. When he was 21, Klaus moved to Aeralya in search of work and found it very easily: smiths of such a high skill were needed and he was happy to take the work, regardless of the rivalry between the kingdoms. Now he's well-known throughout Aeralya's capital city and he earns a good enough living.

Klaus is a very simplistic person in that he believes hard working and effort pays off in the long run. He is a dedicated young man who will stick to a task once he has his mind set on it. This tireless nature of his is admirable, but it can seem at times that he cares for little outside the forge. He doesn't care much for the opinions of others and brushes it off when people comment on his northern accent. In this way, he could be regarded as open-minded, as he doesn't judge people before he knows them. He treats everybody with mutual distrust until they earn his faith, which can take a ridiculous length of time since he's hesitant to place faith in anybody.

Declan Vaillant is not the kind of man to be mistaken for a warrior. Trained enough to defend himself should the need arise, Declan prefers to leave the messy business of fighting to guards and soldiers. His preferred weapons are his own easy smile and charming personality, and he wields them with a deadly precision among the members of the court. With a quick mind honed by some of the best tutors in Aeralya, Declan is well equipped for the role he plays as Aeralya's prince. When he's not attending his duties Declan can often be found in the library, nose buried in a book, or out wandering the streets and shops of the local village.

A difficult man to know, the prince of Aeralya is slow to trust and quick to doubt even if he masks it with soft smiles and polite conversation. Declan knows all too well how much power secrets can have and is very protective of his own, hiding much of himself behind the carefully constructed mask he presents to the public. He works carefully to keep his private life just that - private - and is somewhat resentful of his engagement to a stranger. Declan is fond of his siblings, and they are some of the only people he allows himself to let his guard down around. They are among the few people he trusts unconditionally, and he avoids deceiving them when possible.

Declan is approximately 5'9" with a lean build. Mindful of his appearance, he keeps his long, golden-brown hair tied away from his face and his beard neatly trimmed. His eyes are a dark blue.

At least a few people have described Cas as being incapable of shutting up. He's intelligent, and he never lets people tell him what to do, or what to think. He also can't keep his opinions and comments to himself, which results in him questioning his siblings at every turn, and getting himself yelled at. Casimer's disregard for authority, his hatred of tradition, his tendency to wear his mind on his sleeve, they're all things that rub people on the wrong way. He's original, which allows to provide a new perspective on things, but he also hates practical ways of doing things. But he's a person you want around. He gets things done, and he won't let anyone stop him once he's put his mind to something. Cas won't take anyone's bullcrap, but you can count on him stick around when things get hard.

Casimer wants change. He doesn't agree with how Skaga is run, how the king or queen has ultimate authority. He doesn't like how everyone lower than royalty has very little say in decision making. How many farmers live ration to ration, while his family lives in palace. And he's not exactly thrilled about being betrothed to woman he's never met.

Tomas has always lived in Aeralya. The eldest child of a poor farmer and a drunkard, it is his job to keep his family fed and protected, while the only of his siblings old enough, 13 year old Emeli, helps tend the few crops they have and look after the youngest of their siblings. Tomas never thought he would have to resort to poaching, but the King's land is plentiful, and so far he has managed to avoid getting caught; a fact that has led him to confidence, but not recklessness.

Tomas is a heavily family-orientated person. He will defend those he loves to the last breath, though he is, often times, tied to his family more through blood than anything else. The youth is honest to a fault, and could not lie even if he wished to. As thus, he greatly respects people who simply speak their minds, and is confused by those who lie. Tomas is also, what his father would call, stupidly soft-hearted. The sight of suffering yanks at his heart and he will often do anything to help others, even if he gains nothing, or even gets hurt, in return. He is fiercely loyal, though perhaps one of his major faults is that he gives his loyalty away too freely, allowing many to mistreat him. Despite this, he's not stupid, he understands when he is being taken advantage of, but a non-confrontational part of his nature holds him back from saying anything. He has learned caution over the years, and it is beginning to show far more than it did before.

Standing at a mighty 5'5", Tomas prides himself that he has a height about two inches higher than his mother can boast. He is thin, with a small build and lean muscles, and has a shock of ginger hair on his head. He is the only member of his family not freckled to some extent. His eyes are a light brown, framed by long eyelashes but often appearing sunken and tired due to his constant moving around. He takes on most of the manual labour in the home, his father recently having fallen ill, and he is eager for the meeting of the two nations, as he hopes to hunt more while most of the authorities will be preoccupied. His skills with a bow and arrow are fantastic, and he is surprisingly strong for his size.

Few are able to figure out what it is about Victor. He was never the type to exactly open up to others, seemingly distant, enigmatic, perhaps even cold. He seems serious all the time, but that's mainly because he's a listener. He's extremely observant and perceptive to even the smallest details. He's able to think freely, see things that most people wouldn't. For what he has in intelligence, though, he lacks in emotion. Victor is unable to empathize with those he has no relation to and suppresses his own emotions. This is what makes him seem cold and heartless. Even under all that, though, is a charismatic man of loyalty and wit that few see.
Born an illegitimate son of a swordsmith in Aeralya, Victor hasn't been exactly respected. His father has been executed for his past in piracy, if that wasn't enough on it's own. Although, Victor's been careful enough to earn his place as the Master of Arms due to his skill in swordplay and combat. Still, he disregards authority and is incapable of abiding by it; he'd learned to trust no one.
