The leader is in charge of many important Clan decisions. They are granted 9 lives by StarClan through a special ceremony, but if the previous leader is still alive, they can only get the number of lives that were lost and miss the remaining one(s). A leader can also be rejected in the eyes of StarClan and not be an official leader. It is tradition that the leader eats last in the Clan.
DeputyThe deputy is the second-in-command whom the leader often confides information and helping make decisions with. They are in charge of organizing patrols and fill in for the leader when they're unavailable and become the leader, if they're fit, when the previous one dies or retires. They otherwise have the normal job of a warrior, and eating order. A deputy must have trained at least one apprentice and may also retire their position if they wish.
Medicine Cat/App.Medicine cats use herbs to heal wounds and relieve a variety of symptoms. They are also the spiritual leaders of the Clan and have a powerful connection to StarClan. They take a trip to the Star Canopy every half moon. They receive dreams and omens and work as a medium between the Clan and their ancestors. Medicine cats are supposed to be above Clan rivalries and treat all cats fairly. They are not allowed to have mates (may be broken). Medicine cat apprentices learn the healing arts and spiritual lore from their medicine cat mentor, as well as accompanying them on the trip every half moon. A medicine cat apprentice does not graduate to full medicine cat until their mentor dies or retires, even if they are fully trained and have received a warrior name. They are not allowed an apprentice until then either. Medicine cats and their apprentice eat with the warriors and such.
Here is a list of herbs.WarriorsWarriors defend the Clan with trained fighting skills and hunt to feed its members. The Clan depends on its warriors for survival. Apprentices train for about 6 moons before becoming a warrior, so they're about 12 moons or more. Their dens are placed closer around the entrance(s) or perimeter of the camp. The older a warrior is, the more respected they are. They eat after the kits and elders.
Here is a list of fighting techniques.ApprenticesApprentices have a warrior mentor whom they are trained in fighting and hunting by. They occasionally spar or compete with other apprentices. Their name ends with "-paw" to signify the path their paws are now on. Apprentices are supposed to be at least six moons old. They are also charged with the task of cleaning out the bedding and removing ticks and fleas from the elders. They are not allowed to have mates or kits, as it would distract them from their training and they are also very young. They eat with the warriors. Apprentices have to have been taken to the Star Canopy at least once before becoming a warrior.
Queens/KitsQueens are female warriors nursing or expecting kits. They take time off of their duties to raise and feed their kittens until they're old enough to take care of themselves. Some queens stay in the nursery even after their kits are gone so they can help other queens, or kits if their mother is dead or ill. If a cat does not feel suited for fighting and would instead help the other queens, they might permanently reside in the nursery. The nursery is always in the safest place possible. Queens eat with the kits and elders. Kits, or kittens, are young cats that are not old enough to become an apprentice yet. Their name always ends in "-kit" and they sometimes might be held off from becoming an apprentice even after they turn 6 moons, because of an injury or punishment. Kits are not allowed to leave the camp unless accompanied by an older cat, including apprentices. They eat first, along with the elders.
EldersElders are retired cats from any of the other ranks. They are either too old or not in good enough condition to do their job (such as blindness). They are taken care of by the Clan and respected for the duties they have done while they were younger or still fit. They are the ones who take the bodies of dead cats to be buried. They eat first, along with the kits.
StarClanStarClan is a group of all of the clans' deceased ancestors and clan mates. They watch over the Clans and send prophecies and omens out to warn a Clan or Clans of danger. There are no clan boundaries in StarClan; all the cats respect each other and live together peacefully. Cats go to StarClan if they have lived an honorable life and followed the warrior code; even if cats have broken the warrior code, if they believe what they did was right, they can still end up in StarClan. If they didn't end up in StarClan, they go to the Dark Forest. The cats look like they have pelts of stars. Cats in StarClan are restored to whatever age they were happiest with and if they die young, they are called whatever rank they would have been had they survived. StarClan cats fade out when all dead and living cats have forgotten about them and spend the rest of their time, usually peacefully, alone. The StarClan cats can be killed again, disappearing forever.
LonersLoners are cats who are not apart of a clan and are not owned by twolegs. Loners don't usually cause trouble for the clans and just mind their own business. They are independent and mostly stay away from clan territory.
RoguesRogues, like loners, do not belong to a clan and are not cared for by twolegs. However, they are far more hostile than the passive loners. They have less of a regard for borders and take prey from wherever they want.
KittypetsKittypets is the Clans' term for a cat owned by a twoleg, aka house cat. They are usually unskilled in hunting and fighting and sometimes fat. Clan cats look down upon the kittypet life and most cats do not trust them. Calling someone a kittypet is considered an insult.
