Featherstar looked at the Lakeclan leader in surprise, her fur raising as she was disgusted by his audacity. "Excuse me, what did you just say?" She hissed. "It better not be what I think I heard." She growled.

"It certainly is, Featherstar." Oakstar hissed, glaring at the she-cat.
"We need the river. Shadowclan doesn't need it, so why shouldn't we have it?" He growled, unsheathing his claws just in case.
He narrowed his eyes at a cat beside Featherstar as he picked up the scent of them. "Kittypets?" Oakstar spat.
He hated kittypets ever since he was a kit. All the stories he had heard in the nursery were about them being bad.

Valorclaw chased Oakstar and heard the conversation. He wants the river that flows into Shadowclan? He hissed to himself.
He thought Oakstar was crazy as he stood next to him as his neck fur bristled. "You better back off." Valorclaw hissed at the Shadowclan Leader, trying to defend Oakstar even though he was against him crossing the borders.

Featherstar snarled and bared her fangs at the tom, smirking. "Are you sure you aren't just scenting yourself?" She spat. "That river is in Shadowclan territory, and it's ours. Your clan has that whole other lake." She also unsheathed her claws. "Leave us be, and I won't have to hurt you." She turned to the other tom and laughed harshly. "Me, back off?" She hissed. "You're on my territory pal, you back off." She growled.

Oakstar snarled as he hissed, "You have no use for it! Give it to us!"
He sprang back and crouched down low, collecting his haunches to launch himself at the other cat.

Valorclaw was disappointed of his leader. How could he be so mousebrained? Of course Featherstar wouldn't just hand the river over to him! Come on, Valorclaw think. Think! How do I get ourselves out of this? He thought to himself silently.
He narrowed his eyes at the other Leader as he got the idea of fighting. Surely they could win, she was outnumbered. Valorclaw unsheathed his claws and crouched in front of Oakstar. He slid out of the conversation and crept up behind Featherstar, making sure not to make a single noise.

Featherstar also crouched ready to defend herself. She knew how new the Lakeclan leader was. She had far more experience despite being younger. "No, Oakstar. I refuse." She kneaded the dirt with her claws, listening to the forest around her for any ambush.

Oakstar saw Valorclaw go behind as he hissed, "The one to win is the one to get the river!"
He yowled in rage as he lunged himself at Featherstar, clawing at her ear, he ducked and went under her to come out the other side and narrowed his eyes at Valorclaw. Valorclaw was leaving! That mousebrain. I can take care of her myself. Oakstar mewed to himself.

Valorclaw's eyes opened wide as he saw his Leader plunging at Featherstar. He snuck away as he reached camp, relieved not to fight. He didn't want any wounds or scars this time. He leaped into the Warriors Den as he sighed and closed his eyes to sleep.

Featherstar twisted and raked her claws down Oakstar's side, snarling. "Easy!" Was all she hissed, flicking her ear and ignoring the blood and pain.

Oakstar stepped back as he narrowed his eyes at Featherstar. I have to find her weak spot. Oh! He mewed to himself.
He stepped forward as he dodged side to side and landing behind her. Oakstar clawed at Featherstar's tail and backed up, seeing a gash on her tail now he fled to Lakeclan, catching a few fish in the river while he was running. Oakstar would never win to a more expierenced and talented Leader.

She paced. She knew Valorclaw and Wolfthorn went out with Oakstar but she couldn't help but worry about Valorclaw. So she paced.

Valorclaw decided not to sleep as he rose up to his paws. He padded out of the Warriors den and saw Whisperflight. "Hey." He meowed, still drowsy with sleep.
"Oakstar attacked Featherstar but.." Valorclaw started, but stopped saying anything as he saw Oakstar whiz past him with three fish in his jaws.
"Oakstar! Are you alright?" He murmered.

Oakstar went to the fresh-kill pile instantly as he dropped the fish on it. "Valorclaw. Explain to me why in Starclan did you leave me? I almost got clawed to shreds back there! Don't you see, we need that river!" He hissed, unsheathing his claws and digging them into the ground at the mention of the river they were fighting for.
It wasn't much, but he wanted it badly.
