Beckett is as friendly as can be, but he tends to struggle when talking to strangers. He gets flustered and anxious and can never keep eye contact. He's cheery and positive, but easily upset by other's pain. Safety is his number one priority, but that doesn't mean he won't break the rules every now and again. He tends to get frantic when people are doing potentially dangerous things and, because of this, he tends to be rather stressed out when watching action or horror movies. It's honestly pretty easy to win him over, all it takes in a charming smile and a sense of humor, although once he gets past that, he's a harsh judge and won't be afraid to call you out on something problematic. He's an advocate for respect and positive body image, because both are very important to him. He loves being called by nicknames, one of his favorites of all-time is Beck, but he really doesn't mind what you call him. He's jealous of people when it comes to relationships, and can be possessive of his boyfriends.
When Beck was four years old, his father died, leaving his mother, Gwendolyn, in shambles. They loved each other more than anybody Beck had ever seen, even on TV. Gwen tried so hard to keep up a strong facade for Beckett, and she succeeded for upwards of five years, but as Beckett got older, he started looking and acting so much more like his father. One day, Gwen, just... snapped. She lost it and after putting nine-year-old Beck to sleep, she drove off and drank herself near to death. Her plans were drive right off the cliffside and end everything, but she passed out from all the alcohol and the police found her in her car. In the morning, they came to Beckett's house, told him that his mother was going to a place called the Northridge Rehabilitation Center where she would get better, and took him to a foster home. He went from foster to foster until he turned eighteen and promptly moved out. He's had a stressful life to say the least, so this vacation was a blessing for him. That is, until everything went south and the plane crashed...
