Alyx realized he wasn't straight when he was around fourteen. He was never interested in girls, but it wasn't until his teenage years that he realized he was interested in guys. He knew his parents wouldn't be happy if they found out, if the constant complaining whenever they saw anything involving lgbt+ was a clue. So he stayed quiet. He had enough problems with his family without being disowned for being gay. Let's just say, Alyx wasn't the type of kid his mom wanted. She wanted a popular sports star, but instead she got a quiet punk who never seems to do what she wants him to. Of course she doesn't approve of his piercings. The only reason he had them was because a friend had done them for him and he managed to keep his parents from ripping them ou when they saw them. He wasn't that much of a rebel, but there were times when he just didn't care what they thought.
