Eldan was born a younger son in a far flung noble family, as low as you could get without being a commoner. Growing up in a secluded mountain range, Eldan was often disappearing as a child to go exploring. The more he grew, the further away he would wander, until eventually he was nearly at the edge of his families lands. It was there he found the nest of a dragon. While he had never thought about the beasts one way or another, from his first sight of one in the flesh, Eldan was in love with the species. He got as close as he dared, and spent days at a time watching the mother care for her unharmed eggs. Unfortunately, he was so absorbed that he failed to return to his home, and sent his family into an uproar. His father sent out whatever warriors they could find, and sent them to find his son. The Knights followed the tracks, and found the dragons nest. Jumping to the worst possible conclusion, they leapt to attack the mother. Eldan, drawn by the noise, was frozen in horror as he arrived just in time to see the Knights slay the dragon before beginning to move towards the eggs. Eldan cried out, and ran in to rescue one of the eggs before they could destroy it. The knights, surprised to see him alive, hesitated for just long enough for Eldan to start running. He ran and ran an ran, until he no longer knew where he was. Then, he found a remote area and set to trying to help the egg. Amazingly, the egg hatched into a female dragon kit. Naming her Meenah, Eldan raised her, and the two have been together ever since

While he once had all the social graces needed for a noble, Eldans skills have grown rusty during his time raising Meenah. While intelligent and gentle, he has become painfully shy around humans, and feels constantly off balance until he begets to know them. If given the chance to open up however, it can be difficult to get him to stop talking. Having lived with only his dragon for so long, Eldan often misses conversational queues, and so spends his time almost completely silent, or dominating the conversation. If quite however, he observes people almost obsessively, and gathers information quickly and easily. His dragon, on the other hand, is almost completely different. While she also doesn't enjoy company, she trusts her fighting skills instead of gathering knowledge, though she does have the same habit of either dominating a conversation or not contributing to one at all
