I'm American. I don't think Midwesterners have accents. I think the closest we have is saying words in stupid ways. Like a lot of people say "ey-g" instead of "egg" and "bey-g" instead of "bag." Also some people say "malk" instead of "milk"??? UUUGH it drives me NUTS.

Ah, space, England isn't so bad. London is really cool. (But I get what you're saying about the rain. Though I think Ireland had you guys beat. Uuuugh)

well, say a midwestern person meets a british person. to each other, the other would have accents, even though you, yourself can not hear it because you speak it.

Well, yes, in that respect Midwesterners DO have accents, but in relation to the rest of America, we're the boring ones. Texas and New York all have their own accents. Does the west coast have an accent?

(You get your accent not from your family but with the people you play with. It was proven by scientists that if you play with a child with a different accent with a long enough time you can end up talking like them. But it won't last because your family will probably make you talk like them. In my neighborhood for a softdrink they say 'pop' and I say 'soda' because I'm from the East.)
