WARNING: NERD RANT STARTS HERE

I agree that Marvel has certainly come out with more movies, a lot of them really really good, but
DC had some pretty dang awesome cartoons (and I know that sounds lame but I'm totally serious: Batman Beyond, Justice League, Teen Titans, Young Justice, Green Lantern: The Animated Series) with smart scripts and complex characters and really meaningful relationships, with actually really engaging plots and intense fight scenes!

And then they started coming out with this junk, like Teen Titans Go! and Beware the Batman, which sucks until the end of eternity. #alsosorrynotsorry I'm just so upset that that's what replaced all the more serious shows...

I also generally prefer the DC characters themselves to Marvel characters (especially since, before the movies started coming out and superheroes became "cool", the Invincible Iron Man was more of a hollow caricature and an obvious copy of Batman as far as being rich and a genius and, oh yeah, making himself a bunch of cool gadgets went. Robert Downey, Jr. was really the first person to really bring the character to life and make him likeable, IMHO)
(Because let's face it, hardly anyone was a huge Iron Man fan before Robert Downey, Jr., can't say the same about Batman...)

Maybe it's just the fact that I grew up with the Justice League, so I'm sort of biased, but I'm just really a lot more familiar with Huntress, Martian Manhunter and Klarion the Witch Boy than I am with Thanos and Jubilee.

Yeah, you grew up with those things, I never really heard about them much. But the reason I dislike them is... their story, and their attitude. Yes, they have different backstories, but they kind of all feel like the same person. The DC shared Universe films are.. I don't know.
With Marvel, you get playful bantering, likable characters, unlikable characters, a badass villain, and overall things that are different. They act human. Batman and Superman just feel like emotionless movies to me. I don't really like Spiderman either, but I'll get to him in a second. Alright, Batman. His parents got killed as a kid, he became a billionaire, and wants to rid the city of crime, so he becomes.. a bat Ninja. I mean, I get that he wants to be your typical neighbor hood hero, but can I get a little more context? A little more feeling and rationalism with that? Come on, DC, Supernatural does better than that. And Superman, so he's an alien sent to who gets his power from a yellow sun. So he's an alien who gets to a crapload of powers from a yellow sun because why. I don't even have to say any more than this. You can not frigging kill this dude, because no human will likely ever get their hands on kryptonite except for plot convenience for absolutely no reason.

And there are various characters from Marvel and DC that are alike, but in my opinion, Marvel just seems to get it right. And I'm not biased, I didn't grow up with either more than the other, I watched batman when I was a little kid, and I loved Spiderman as well back then. But I still like Marvel to this day, and the only part of DC I really like is the Joker and the Green Lantern. Alright, enough of that xD Sorry for ranting.
Random question, should I watch the Hobbit or Lord of the Rings first?

I've always loved Iron man, Spiderman, and Wolverine the most.

Ironman is not a copy of Batman, *has actually listened to and read the interviews with Stan Lee regarding the character, and has been collecting comics since before most of you were born* The millonaire playboy yadda yadda yadda yes, but the character was intended to be unlikeable and meant to be a drunken masculine pig of a man who happened to be incredibly smart where as batman has always been a vigilante justice icon. Ironman was meant to be a troubled dick of a hero and he was written very well for what he was meant to be. He wasn't meant to be popular, Stan Lee wanted to make a point that not all super heroes are good two shoes save the world pretty boys.

Though I do like both DC and Marvel, Marvel a helluva lot more though.

Ehhh, you have a point there ^^
Although I think that Batman chose a bat just because of what it represents, darkness and scariness and all that jazz, so it's not completely random...
I forgot what their whole explanation for the yellow sun thing was, if ever there was a scientific explanation, but heck, no one bothers with real science when it comes to fictional characters and backstories anyways. XD
Huh, I learned something new about Iron Man today! XD
And I admit that I do like a lot of Marvel characters as well, especially Cap. and Vision (which is shocking because usually I go for the bad boys)
Miss Sherlocked, that is an epic topic to write about, I wish I could do stuff like that for school...well, I'm doing Journalism next year so maybe I'll get to! XD

Joker is freaking amazing,
I could see him fitting in just fine with Evil Sass Squad
except for the part where he blows them all up for the fun of it
and then when he finds out he can't just blow them all up, because they're all magical and whatnot and they have their magic force-fields or whatever,
then he'll just constantly play practical jokes on them
*leaves fake version of Rumple's dagger in Zelena's room*
*braids Jareth's hair in the night when everyone is asleep*

And I get what you mean, Muse, but none of the Sherlock's are really even close to the books. Like, at all. I know, because I've read them since I could read chapter books, but I do like them.
Mycroft is weird though. He's never portrayed right. Neither is Sherlock, for that matter, but we'll sweep that aside before I go into a full on rant about all the books I hate the movies of.

I've just never seen Ironman before RDJ, I didn't even know that movie existed. *shrugs and hates self for being a 2000 kid*

Ironman wasn't a movie before RDJ took up the role. It was a comic book...

I plan to one day when I've got the money to spare, (which is like never D: ) get the evolution of the arc reactor over the course of the comic series tattoo'd down the backside of my left arm. Which is funny cause originally it was just a yellow circle so most people, unless legit iron man fans, won't understand it at all.
