Name: Ace Gilbert

Age: 19
Creature: Dragon
Appearance: He has dirty blond hair and dark brown eyes. He's skinny with a slight muscular build. Usually he wears comfortable clothes, although his typical outfit is a sweater over a T-shirt with jeans.
Personality: He likes to joke around and have fun, but he's also very loyal. However, he can be overprotective towards his friends and may get aggressive at times towards anyone who attacks his friends. When it comes to school, he is determined to complete his goal of becoming a technical engineer.
History: He had trouble getting along with his father, since they never saw eye-to-eye, so he was glad to finally leave home. However, he was very close to his younger brother, Silas, and misses him. He did well in school, although he was known for getting into fights to protect his friends. Because of this, he had a bad reputation. Now that he is starting somewhere new, he is trying his best to stay out of trouble and to be known as a "good kid."
Traditional Dragons: Dragons have been known for preying on humans and destroying their towns. Also, they were usually very intelligent with a decent knowledge of magic. Only a few dragons, however, were able to actually possess the ability to sense and truly understand magic on a different level than other creatures. Their scales come in a variety of colors, such as black or gold or green.
Modern: Dragons are still very smart compared to humans, and they are able to endure extreme heat. They rarely fly in the open or breathe fire. Nowadays, it's very rare for a dragon to be able to sense/detect magic.

Personality: He's very outgoing and hardly ever walks away from a situation without a new friend. Also, he tends to be extremely optimistic, always looking at the good and usually completely ignoring the bad. Because he's so focused on enjoying life, he doesn't take some things seriously, which has caused some conflict with his friends. He has yet to have a stable relationship with a girl since he constantly gets bored and wants to move on to someone new. Influenced by his older brother, he focuses on school and considers it to be a hobby, maintaining amazing grades with lots of studying. He loves to help take care of animals and magical creatures, although he is unsure if he wants that to be his career.

Personality:
Lily is a very studious, but passionate and fun person to be around; she loves to smile and laugh, but when it comes to her studies, she's all business, with a few witty puns thrown in. She looks for the brighter things in life and although she often feels overwhelmed by all that she has to do in order to reach her life goals, including becoming a leading chemical engineer, she's one to rise to meet her challenges in the end, never giving up. She's naturally intelligent, with a photogenic memory, applying to things she hears as well. She tends to be a little too emotional sometimes, especially when she's getting as little sleep as her studies enforce, but she can still find something to smile about in the midst of her tears.

History:
This has earned her great grades in school, enough that she worked up the courage to apply to Ferland and was accepted. She's excited for this next step in her life, which she plans to face with a huge smile edged with her natural determination.
She grew up completely in the human world, not even finding out she was a mythical creature, or that they even existed until her interview with two of the college deans (both secretly mythological) when they ask her what creature she is so as to figure out who to pair her with in the dorms for all the "female" (some creatures don't have sexes, like traditional angels, so it's the creatures that most qualify as female, according to the definition on file) mythical creatures on campus. [This scene is the first post in the roleplay.]

Creature Characteristics:

Traditionally: Unicorns have healing abilities and a general control over the natural world, mostly working for the betterment of nature. Unicorns are said to be either strong enough or magical enough to kill dragons with their great power, be unbelievably beautiful, and the only way to capture one was by the unicorn being swayed into slumber by the song of an innocent and beautiful woman. Unicorns were greatly hunted by humans in medieval times using this method to be killed for their horn, said to possess healing abilities and for a trophy.
Modern Times: Even in the mythical world, unicorns are rare, using their magic to stay hidden from even other magical creatures. Some say they have gone extinct, hunted to death for their allegedly delicious meat by carnivorous creatures or by humans as trophies; others still say they've merely better blended into humanity than other mythical creatures, or are hiding in the pockets of nature left in the world.

Personality:
Mairianne is very outgoing once she gets to know someone, often smiling, but she doesn't talk much, and although not shy, isn't always sure of herself. She's still acclimating to the human world, and although one of the more intelligent griffins, she doesn't always understand human things or the reasoning behind human thinking. She will sometimes lapse into the griffin language when she gets too excited (which sounds like a combination of whistles, growls, and chirps), is passionate about all things aircraft (she's studying to become an aerospace engineer, which builds planes), one of the few human things she enjoys, likes shopping (for both griffin and human wear, one of the other human things she enjoys), and is a complete hoarder of things she believes have value, but it's okay because she has a magic chest that can hold a lot more than it should. She's extremely tidy with some things, then a utter slob with others, keeping her schoolwork station spotless, as well as her book shelf, but the things in the bathroom and on her bed and her clothes are heaped together haphazardly (the clothes are less noticeable though because she heaps them haphazardly together, in a magic wardrobe).

History:
Mairianne grew up with her griffin family in a low-human-populated town in the central United States, a small town even with all the magic folk, but she was busy enough with her knowledge-loving griffin mother and riddle-telling griffin father. She grew up to love knowledge like her parents, but is also obsessed with all things flying, loving to fly on her own, but wishing to be able to fly even where her griffin form couldn't. She was homeschooled, but passed the standardized tests and advanced placement exams in Physics, Calculus, etc. with flying colors, earning her place in such a prestigious school with ease.

Creature Characteristics:

Traditionally: A griffin is a creature with the head, chest, wings, and forelegs of an eagle and the torso, hindquarters, tail, and hind legs of a lion; in the past, each griffin differed in intentions, intelligence, and innate abilities as humans do, some evil, some unbelievably intelligent, others quick flyers, etc. Most, however, are powerful flyers and fighters, have at least a little magic, and have at least average intelligence. They speak their own language as a griffin that not many can understand apart from griffins, although they understand most other languages.
Modern Times: In today's times, there are a fairly decent number of griffins; they aren't able to fly around as much in modern times as in the past, what with all the technology, but they get enough exercise flying low, in human-rid places, and in special magical facilities that are set up around the world for magical beings to be themselves in, often disguised in gyms, with a magic door someplace within. All griffins have a name which involves/implies flying, eagles, or lions within it. (M-air-ianne.)

Creature: Manticore
Appearance: He has black hair and hazel eyes with an average body build. He wears comfortable clothes and, if it's cold, he'll wear a jean jacket.
Personality:He tries to avoid social interactions because he tends to be awkward, especially around strangers. Jokes usually fly over his head because he tends to be a little more serious. Also, he can seem very absent-minded and sometimes he won't hear people because he's in his own world. He also has an obsession over perfection and organization. He will organize his friends' rooms if there is too much clutter. Even though he wants to be an animator, he often slacks off in school or gives up on projects because his animations aren't perfect.
History: He was born without wings, so his two older sisters teased him a lot. His parents favored the sisters while he was looked down upon. So, in order to get their attention, he had to work as twice as hard and aim for perfection in everything he did. Now that he's away from the home, he doesn't try as hard in school, although his grades do frustrate him since they are only average.
Traditional Manticores: They have lion-like bodies with a scorpion tail that can shoot poisonous darts at their enemies. They also have large, leather wings. Their poison only immobilizes the target, allowing the manticore to finish off its prey without a fight. They aren't the smartest creatures, but they can be very deadly, which is why they sometimes kill for the sake of killing.
Modern: Manticores are now more tame and reserve their poison for when it's necessary. While most manticores have wings, there are some who aren't born with any and get picked on by their siblings. Most families still live together in prides, meaning a few generations may stay in a household together. Leaving the pride is looked down upon, so most children who must go to college usually come back to the household.

*This picture isn't the best, but that's because in his true form, he always appears as a handsome, healthy, young man, but he looks different to every female, his particular characteristics changing in response to what the woman's natural inclinations are, what most, sorry to say, but he is an incubus, 'turns her on'. In general, he's usually paler of skin, with elvin, yet strongly masculine, features, and he literally glows. His eyes, when he doesn't adjust to someone's preferences, are white where color should be (the iris).
