The Bernese mountain dog is from the police, therefore he can fight well
Zeeke is an (innocent) escaped prisoner, meaning he hasn't had much fight training

It was more like this XD

Zeeke grabbed a nearby stick in his teeth and stabbed Feferi in the chest with it, making Feferi stumble backwards. Zeeke stood up, keeping the stick in his mouth, and rammed the stick into Feferi’s back and flank.
Feferi clawed Zeeke’s forehead, but Zeeke kept ramming into Feferi with the stick.

Aaand the fight scene is not finished still x3
