" Trigger leapt upon the haystacks until he reached the one on the very end of the line. That was his haystack that he lay on twenty four - seven; unless he was leading towards battle or checking on the other dogs. Three other haystacks lie on their sides, wobbling a little from the breeze. Trigger wasn't interrupted for a while, so he lie his head on his forearms and fluttered his eyes closed. "Triggy!" a voice yelled from below. Trigger groaned, for he knew all to well who it was and what they wanted. It was his little runt of the litter sister, Kerosene. Yes, he loved her, but she was annoying like hell. Trigger tried to ignore her but she kept on and on. She tried to jump up on the end raking down pieces of hay, where the green netting wasn't blocking; so she couldn't places her claws in the holes to get a grip. "Triggy! Wake up!" she yelled at her bigger brother. "I am awake. What do want?" he snapped, lifting his head and rising up, looking down at her. "I want to go hunting." "You're too young." he spat. "I'm only a year younger than you.." "And why do you think that is?" he asked, rudely. "Because mom,-" she paused. She knew she was the runt but didn't know how it happened. "I don't know... Because she wasn't finished I guess?" this made him chuckle. "Merle should be back from a hunting trip, maybe she'll take you." Kerosene beamed with joy. Merle was Trigger's mate and Kerosene loved her. Kerosene sat and placed her front paws on the front on the haystack and looked up at Trigger. "Merle!" she yelled. Trigger opened his eyes and felt his haystack wobble. Merle had come from behind and sat next to her mate. Trigger looked over his shoulder and Merle dropped a trout fish on his forearms, he quickly slid his front legs apart and let it fall in between them. He placed a paw on the fish t hold it down while he bit into it and savored the taste. "Thanks, Merle." She nodded and the replied that he was a lazy ass and should catch his own food, but she smiled the entire time she said it. "Merle!" Kerosene yelled from below, waiting for a reply. She looked down and saw her mate's sister. "Yes?" she asked. "I want to go hunting!" she yelled again, then began jumping up with excitement. Merle looked Trigger and cocked an eyebrow. "She want's you to take her hunting." he boasted taking another bite. "Why don't you do it?" "Because she likes you better.."
Merle sighed, "All right," Kerosene perked her ears up. "We'll go hunting." Kerosene smiled with joy and yelled that she wouldn't take long to train. "I promise I won't let you down!" she said as Merle hopped down and motioned to Kerosene to follow. Which she did. She didn't want to miss one piece of advice Merle would give her. Merle was one of the best hunters that she knew of. She wanted to be just like her. Except one thing, being mates with a bonehead like her brother. But she loved him anyway. Just like Merle did. Kerosene couldn't keep in her happiness. She talked the whole way there. Where ever they were going. When will we get there Kerosene thought, exhausted from walking so far. She decided falling behind wouldn't do any good so she began jogging to keep up with Merle. She began panting, gradually slowing down. She didn't give up though. She kept on and on until she bumped Merle's back leg. Merle had stopped and Kerosene was unaware of it until she hit her with her small head. "You okay?" Merle asked, chuckling a little. "I'm fine," she smiled. "why'd we stop?" she finished. "Because we're here." Merle smiled, bobbing her head to the north. Kerosene picked herself up and looked around. Trees and grass covered the area in many shades of green and yellow. "Wow." she gasped, not ever knowing she had said it, she was fixated on the scenery.
"Listen well. You'll need to remember this for life." Merle smiled. Kerosene nodded eagerly. "Now, this is what you have to do..." "
Well, that's the story of Kerosene. The story of how she.. well.. was. It wasn't until Merle became ill and was on her death bed. Kerosene and her big brother were devastated. Trigger was loosing his mate, and Kerosene was loosing her best friend. There's no telling how long this little fae of a dog cried after her friend died, but let's just say she was taken from the country and sent away from her troubles and her family. Kerosene was three years when she was sold to local, or should I say, city dwellers, for money. Kerosene herself was a stray until some country people called her theirs, then sold her to... British people! Outrageous! What did Kerosene do when she arrived in London? Well, she was destined to become a stray, and so she did, and continue her brothers dog pack there. So she did. She became the leader of several London strays and was often loved by most. It wasn't until the fae turned ten years old, seventy in dog years, and called it quits. She let her pack live on until she passed away.
And where are you? Continuing that dog's dreams yourself, or, should I say myself since I am the new leader of this pack. I promised Kerosene I'd continue on with her dreams. You'll find your home here. With large dogs to small dogs, beautiful dogs to well.. ugly dogs. No matter what we treat each other with respect. Welcome to London.
