in 2015, a widespread phenomenon affected a vast majority of the globe. the dead rose; at least those that had died that year. the world, mostly prepared by decades of zombie movies, was fine. things followed the script for the most part; zombie uprising, brains, people fighting back, the whole shebang. eventually, things were well-enough contained that a cure was found, and life returned to normal. the dead, disdainfully called rotters, were treated like the sick, and their condition given a name; partially-deceased syndrome, also known as PDS. while sufferers had killed and were killed in the chaos, with a daily medication, they returned to their normal states, albeit with pale-translucent skin and marbled eyes, but they were conscious and aware. unfortunately, most have lost any memory of their previous identities. the goal is to reintegrate into society and become functioning members once again, though that may be easier said than done.

Cis is a smart and strong gal who wears her heart on her sleeve. naturally, in eponymous New York, it's important to be tough, and Cis is no exception. while she is comfortable in her own skin, she's not much of a talker, though her wit shines through in her humor and speech. despite this, she's nowhere near uppity or snobby, and isn't afraid of getting her hands dirty; she'd rather work for what she has, and tends to feel awkward when given gifts.

as an optimist, she tries to see the best in people, but she's not gullible, and is willing to be flexible in approaching problems. though she's creative, she tends to overestimate how a situation will turn out, has a hard time keeping track of a lot of tasks, and finds it tough to make difficult decisions. when she gets mad, her temper is quick, but her forgiveness is quicker, though she tends to calm down more after a screaming match than time alone. this often causes problems, however, as she may have already moved on when the other person still smolders. overall though, when she takes a shine to someone, there's no going back, and will fight tooth and nail for someone close enough.

raised in the projects, Cis is a New York native born to Puerto Rican immigrants. as a kid, her grandparents, many siblings, and extended family lived very close by, and she has strong ties in the neighborhood where she was raised. as far as school goes, she did fairly well, and eventually majored in english at colombia university. during her junior year of college, she and her friends were mauled by a werewolf on a camping trip. while they had broken bones and similar injuries, Cis was the only one to have scratches and bites due to getting there late, leaving heavy scarring on her torso and back. currently, she's pretty crafty and has managed to keep the whole werewolf thing under wraps pretty well, changing in a storage unit and planning around the full moon. she also runs a popular advice blog for various supernatural circles, particularly for people just starting out in harder-to-manage situations. though she would one day like to teach english or write poems, her current job at a record store pays the bills, and she lives paycheck-to-paycheck.

ℙersonality ▸ As a person, Griffin can be a charming, persistent guy. He is an artist, constantly coming up with new ideas and ways to make things better. He mainly sketches, selling his work of still life in different parts of the city to a couple family friends or whatever, that sort of thing. He also makes his living off of working part-time at the cafe down the street from his apartment and doing gigs on Friday nights with his band at a bar a couple blocks down. He sings lead vocals and plays guitar and he really enjoys it.
Griffin believes that the world can be changed with one small act of kindness. He always had a story to tell, and when he wants to be, Griffin is quite a ladies-man.

But what most people don't know about Griffin is that when he looses his temper, which is quite often, he can't get it back. He is terrifying when he's ticked off, extremely cold and harsh, shutting out everyone.
Griffin is neither a bad djinn, nor a good one. Simply benevolent. But when he get's the urge to feed, nothing can stop him.

She puts everyone before her if she feels they have a good heart, even if it's someone
she has just met. Caring, but childish at times. She's very easy to get along with. Quiet
and doesn't speak unless spoken to, making her a good listener, and having been through
what she's been through and seen the things she has seen, she is good at comforting
others, and gives pretty good wisdom. Not as lazy as she used to be when she was alive.
Stubborn, and suffered with depression, which led to her death. Usually calm about things
and usually keeps her cool even in the worst situations.

History ;; Born in 1972, the youngest of 3 daughters, in Albany, the capital
of New York. Her parents were both successful, Jordan's mother modeled, mostly in the
60's, was never really a 'supermodel', but was fairly well known in Albany. Jordan's father
was an entrepreneur. Jordan's sisters were both early bloomers, 'prodigies', most would
say. Because Jordan did not accomplish what her sister's did when she was around their
ages, she thought there was no hope for her at all and never really had dreams and goals
for the future. Jordan developed depression at the age of 14, and eventually dropped out
of school in the middle of junior year. On top of all of that, to help with her depression,
as her parents didn't believe her and thought she was just lazy, she suffered with substance
abuse to make her feel better as she could not get proper treatment. After dropping out
of school, Jordan spent most of her time clubs and that's how she got her addiction. It started
out with nothing major, but eventually got as bad as heroin. One night, at 22 years old,
she overdosed in the bathroom of the first club she had ever went to. During the dying
process, Jordan slowly saw herself levitating over her body and came to the realization
that she was dead, she even saw one of her friends find her body. Jordan figured that the
reason she didn't 'pass on' the right way (go to Heaven, or Hell...), was because she never
really did anything that good or bad in life, and didn't accomplish whatever her life's purpose
was. Jordan couldn't tell her parents that she was still on their plane of existence as her
family didn't believe in ghosts, and would surely think of themselves as crazy. So, rather
than staying in Albany, Jordan moved to NYC. She didn't want to move too far away, as
she still wanted to watch over and protect her family. She still visits them occasionally,
without them knowing, obviously, but is also busy with life in NYC, deciding to live a
normal life and actually work in hopes of accomplishing whatever it was in life she was
supposed to so she can move on. Clubs surprisingly aren't bad memories for Jordan because
they did truly make her feel better, so she got a job as a bartender and lives in an apartment
complex just a few minutes away from where she works.

Meet Clarisse and Clarabella, the Blake twins. I'm Clarisse. But you can call me Clare. I am Clarabella. If you must address me, I suppose you may call me Clara. Clarisse and Clarabella are identical twins. They were born on a brisk, chilly day in mid september to a pair of supernaturals named Katherine and Jonathon Blake. Yes, you heard me. I said Supernaturals. Now, there are a lot of Supernaturals. Some are compatible with others and some are not. Because their powers so closely resembled each other, Kate who was a full-blooded and Jon who was a Psychic (half Sorceror and half human) were very compatible. And because of this, they gave birth to two healthy, supernatural girls. I'm a Witch! I am a Psychic...

Clare and Clara grew up with their parents on the outskirts of New York City, on a small ranch called Daybreak Meadows. It was a beautiful, picturesque place with fields of wildflowers and lots of spece for two young children to run and grow. And it was only a twenty minute drive into the city, which meant an easy commute for Kate. While Jon prefered to on the ranch, Kate adored the hustle and bustle of New York City and made her living as a Photographer. She took gorgeous pictures and her work was very sought after.
