Clay has lived in a barn all his life. It's an easy life, but he has never been told he has an older brother. The tom likes to sit on the barn roof or in the attic and watch the stars. When he was exploring the forest where BirdClan lives, he met Dovestar. The rogue was invited to join BirdClan, but politely refused, agreeing to stay friends with the leader and be peaceful toward the Clan in exchange for being allowed on BirdClan territory. A short while later he met Phoenixpaw who had recently become a rogue. Phoenixpaw stayed with Clay for a short while, and the two became friends quickly, saying goodbye a couple of moons after.
