Some day he might become deaf in both ears. Don was lucky to keep his hearing
even though he was pure white with blue eyes, which usually results in deafness. c:

Sorry I've been ridiculously absent, again. Uni is still being stupid and making me work, but the end of semester is looming, so I should be free soon!

That's true about the deafness though - although I only knew about it in cats, for some reason ^^

busy too with my GCSEs and ICT coursework at school this month. But yes,
don't be surprised if Red just suddenly goes deaf out of nowhere, it's bound
to happen because of his genetics and stuff. c;

Oh yeah, I forgot he was deaf in one ear too.......Poor guy, hey does he have a crush lined up? I feel like he did but I forgot that to O_o.

My puppy is an Australian Shepherd, she is a black tri like her momma and her daddy was a blue merle. But if you breed to merles together you get what they call Lethal Whites. They have lots of health problems and are almost always blind and deaf. It's sad...

Ooh, gorgeous! I love Aussies (almost as much as I love Border Collies.)
Healthy double merles are gorgeous, but there's just too much that can go wrong with the poor babies :( I think the term 'Lethal White' actually comes from horses and the overo gene (where if you breed two frame overos with the lethal gene together, the foal is stillborn :( )

Oh no - both Ranger and Rose have merle genes! Maybe that's how she figures out they can't have kids, like we were talking about ages ago? (I was just thinking about that the other day, too)

Interesting, I never knew that about horses. I only read about Lethal White Aussie's when looking up the Aussie breed. Never knew it was a horse "thing", I learn something new everyday.


Oh, that would be very interesting. That could work, I totally forgot that Rose and Ranger were both merle, I am very forgetful today.

I mean unless you want him single, that's cool too, I think Bristol might stay single, right now I cant see her having a mate or pups.

@Sunny-Just re-read the lethal white aussie thing and found I had missed where it said it was originally used to describe just horses then they used it for dogs born that way. I love learning new things. :D

@Joy: Hehe I find it funny that both Lannie and Bristol are hiding things from eachother.
Now would be a good time for Barrett to come in... And the smell of wet dog will probably help mask that Shadow scent, but obviously there will be enough for him to get suspicious!
