"Recruits, before we go any further I would like to remind you of something. You are not special. There are hundreds of alchemists in this world. Don't get it into your head that you're any different than they are. At least, not yet. Before you came here you were doing transmutations in your backyards, making toys and flowers for you mommy. Well play time is over. While you're here, the state is going to make you into something different. Something extraordinary. And maybe, if you work hard enough and impress your superiors, you might even be promoted to the position of State Alchemist.

But that's a long ways away. Before you can even begin to think about that, you'll need to go through basic training. You'll be drilled on the basics. Transmutation circles. Equivalent exchange. Forbidden practices. Once you receive passing marks you will be divided into squadrons, each headed by a different State Alchemist. This alchemist will be your tutor and you will be expected to listen to them and learn from them. You will be given more freedom to pursue your interests while in your squadron as well as the opportunity to take the State Alchemy Exam. Should you pass, you will graduate. If not, you remain with your squadron.

You will learn a lot while you're in your squadron, but don't forget that you still belong to the military. Don't think that because of your position that you cannot be called to serve. We all must do our part to protect the State. Should the need arise, you can and will be called to battle. That is all for now.

The world has always been in a battle between darkness and light. In the beginning the creatures of darkness, know as grimms, overwhelmed man crushing him till he was only a small speck in a dark world. As the legend goes, when all seemed lost man discovered something miraculous; dust. Not ash or dirt but dust colorful, powerful dust. With man’s intelligent mind he quickly developed this powerful resource and turned it into a weapon he could use to fight the grimms. Slowly but surely man pushed back the grimms, lighting their way to a bright future of civilization.
Today, because of all the sacrifices made from mankind all those millennia ago we now live in an era of relative peace. However the dark grimms still haunt the edges of our bright civilization, threatening to once again cover us in shadow. Lately though the grimm’s threat has grown, their numbers have been growing at an alarming rate and not only that but their reported attacks have been steadily moving closer and closer to the city of Aldous. The only people that stand in the way of the grimms return are the Hunters and Huntresses who have spent their lives training to protect the people of Aldous and battle the grimms.
There is only one school that trains these Hunters and Huntresses; Beacon Academy. Only those who are hard working and talented enough ever get to see the illustrious gates of Beacon. Perched high a-top a cliff over looking the city Beacon shines as the hope of a people who still wage a never-ending war against thee dark. You were a hopeful applicant dreaming of being a student at Beacon Academy, of being a Hunter or Huntress who could protect those that couldn’t protect themselves. That’s no longer who you are though, now you are a student starting their first year at Beacon. You will be teamed up with three other students who share your dream of being Hunters and Huntresses, with them you will make your way through boring classes and dangerous encounters. This is your day to succeed, your day to open up the door.

Depths of Darkness

It was once said that light could only be found within the soul, and that the outward, visible light was only a reflection of the inner being.

Darkness is the same. Only pouring into existence from the depths of man's heart.

Of course, I don't know if these sayings are true. All I have know, all any of us have known, is Black. The sort of Black that wraps around the eyes in deep folds and worms its way into the mind, changing any human sanity to the drear misery of pain and hopelessness, causing the soul to weep and bend and disfigure in ways once thought only nightmares.

Our people, the Seekers, have fought this oppressiveness for centuries, seeking any form of Light and Hope as we are trapped in the Abdula Caves. The Sun is a mystery, just as much as Moon and Star light. None of our people have actually seen these Orbs of Hope, but we have the tales, the legends, the prophesies.

We live in the earth, the realm our ancestors fled to during a dreadful war that wiped out more than half their tribes. They found the Caves of Abdula, taking refuge in the many tunnels, caverns, and hollows, waiting for the battles to subside and determine the victor. Only, the enemy found the sanctuary on the cliffs overhanging the great sea. They forced our people into the unexplored regions and blocked all entrances with the horrific feat of a land slide.

Though our people tried every means of escape, we found none. Many went insane with months of darkness and no outside air. The tribes reassembled and formed three Alliances, though not everyone was in agreement with the arrangements of leadership and survival. Among the dissenters was the Kay Da, a ruthless man bent on going his own way, seeking the Dark Lights, and converting others to his form of thinking. Some said he had gone mad from spending a time in a toxic cavern, but whether mad or not, he was a schemer and traitor, murdering his own family tribe in sleep.

There have been many Kay Da over the centuries, practicing the Dark Light, and raiding the Seeker's villages and tribes, bringing the criminals and outcasts to his side, preparing for a great battle to overthrow the Main Alliance.

We are in fear. Not just from the eternal Black, but also the blackness found in our own hearts.

I am Kedric, elected teacher of the Sentinels, a group of Seekers trained to fight, learn the old ways, and seek the Light. War is soon to come.

Earth has fallen.. Unlike all had predicted the humans actually weren't the cause. They actually did all they could to protect their planet. They rose from their computer screens when the demon's gateway opened. They actually picked up their guns and some even began to pick up swords again. Humans actually put their best effort forth. For years they warred with the demonic force that threatened them and we canines teamed up with them.. what's the point of the title of man's best friend if you don't stand up to it? Yet it never worked.. It didn't even put a dent in the demon force.

Human, canine, feline, equine.. we all fell to the corruption.

With all the innocent falling, heaven was forced to open up their gates again. Many of the innocent even became a problem; corruption still lingered in their bones, threatening the safe-haven. Archangels have been sent has guardians of the few with the worst of the corruption and they are tasked with "un-corrupting" them. War in on it's way and we can't survive without those who have been tainted.

Looking for a roleplay!
most of my rps are either dead or extremely slow, so I'm looking for some new ones!

What I prefer:

• not a ridiculously high lit level. I can do a large paragraph, but don't like too unless I have enough to work with. Semi-lit is preferable.
• interesting plots
• I usually only play one female character. If I do two, one usually gets neglected, but I can if I have to.
• action action action action
• humans
• supernatural/powers/fantasy/dystopia type plots
• avengers/x-men/mutant/s.h.i.e.l.d. type things

What I will not do:

• animal rps
• any rp using canon characters/the lives of real-life people { band, celebrities, etc. }
• rps that are only romance
• anything that is just mundane real-life
• super-fast rps, ones that have already started, or ones with tons of members

The Rivalry
In the small town of Redwood, New York with a population of less than a thousand there are two bands with a huge riff between them. Both bands are... Unconventional as far as the town's very religiously oriented people are concerned; they're both screamo and are very heavily influenced by the styles of the greats of the screamo world. The first band, a band with a male and female front duo along with four other members, is Shattered Porcelain Rose (aka SPR). The second band, fronted by the one-time bassist of Shattered Porcelain Rose that also includes five other memebers, is The Darkened Saints (aka TDS). Due to the obvious tensions between the two with TDS being fronted by SPR's old bassist, they vie for every gig and every fan possible; in this town you can't love both, you have to pick a side.
But what happens when one music venue decides it is sick of these two trying to one up the other and proposes a battle of the bands? What if the show is in a month and both bands must prepare a set with all new songs? What if the worst thing happened and their songwriters both hit a wall?... Who knows, let's find out.

We have four spots left: The Bass Player and The Guitar Player/Song Writer for SPR as well as the Bass Player and Guitar/Backup Vocals for TDS. All characters left are male.

Eternal War

Once there was a time of peace between humans and the supernatural. There were no wars and both lived along side one another. Until one day, a vampire attacked the human princes for their blood without realizing who they were. The humans were angry at the vampires for this seeming betrayal. So, the war began between the vampires and the humans. Eventually the demons stepped in to try to help. But the war would not end, the werewolves came in to help the demons and before long it seemed every supernatural was fighting against humans. The war still rages on and now you are a part of it.

We really need more humans but super naturals are still accepted.
