I think yes...but that's why the daemons are usually not talking much when others are around. I remember from the golden compass that Pan talked sometimes even others were around - and I think they all heard it. At all can't remember the opposite.

I'm pretty sure that people can hear another person's daemon but it's up to the person and daemon if they want to speak to each other out loud?

THE RECAP:
Well, the day just started. It's the Kings Birthday and as an act of celebration the squires will chose new mentors in a special "training". The squires have to chose a mentor (Calla -> Aedan, Exon -> Corbin, Livid -> Anima - these three are already settled. For the others I don't know, means all the other knights and musketeers are still open)
Tobias & Lassiel are sick.
The people are just waking up doing their stuff. Calla, Exon and Earnest are at breakfast. Anima and Corbin are on their way to the market (more or less on free will xD). Aedan and Neva are in the training location. Lorna and Arun are nearly on their way to Newmont. Livid is hanging around - I think she is open for Ivy. Charlie is at the dining hall.
Yeah I think this is all.
