What is Earnest's relationship with the other prince and princess that aren't his own? Merek and Katrina are the son and daughter of the previous king and queen so would their relationship with the current king be strained or would they treat Earnest as their father as well (therefore celebrate his birthday together with him?)

and well... I notice just one itty bitty problem... If Merek and Katrina are the son and daughter of the previous king and queen... shouldn't they be older than Exon and Calla?

*cough* what exactly happened to the last king and queen before Hawkstar's reign?

Oh I assumed they were like the nephew and niece of Earnest - you know, maybe Earnest was the previous king's brother and received the throne from him when his older brother died.
Though they are his niece and nephew Earnest could treat them like his own? After all, if they were (assuming Earnest IS the previous King's brother) he did watch them grow up? and they ARE his brother's kids so he should feel attached to them? maybe?

Wait. but but then.. shouldn't Merek have inherited the throne instead?
Oh bother. Hmm.. maybe if the previous king died while the previous queen was still pregnant, that's how Earnest got to be king. Merek was born... but then... how could Katrina come to life? HMMM. WHAT IS THIS.

Also. Not to be nitpicky i am, shoot me please but if Katrina is the second kid of the previous king and queen, shouldn't she be younger than Merek and not the same age? Unless they're twins?

edit: way too confusing. I guess we'll go simple. No brotherly relationship between earnest and previous king. Maybe Earnest is the old, old old older brother of Merek and Katrina... they were just born reeaaaaaaaallllly late. or something. TWIST THE LAWS OF NATURE.
