It finally happened. A bunch of the underground idiots kept experimenting with things and chemicals they had no business tampering with. No one even knows why, all we know is someone made a mistake, someone caused a mutation, and the mutation has spread. Twelve hours after a lab rat ate some test food, he'd burst from his cage and after biting just a few other of his fellow rodents, the building was in panic, deaths already occurring. You see, something about this chemical, while causing violent reaction and increasing size in animals, is deadly to humans. If you aren't eaten first, a bite from any infected creature puts the poison in your blood stream. You get weaker by the day afterward, your senses and eyesight decrease until the system fully shuts down. Some can live up to a week afterward, some only make it a few days.
Anyway, the infected rodents that escaped soon spread their virus to other wildlife. Twenty-four hours after the first accident, any town or city within fifty miles was fighting off insane wildlife. A week later, it had spread through a third of the continent, a month later, it was global. The over three billion turned into less than a few million by the end of three months. Governments collapsed, monarchies fell into chaos, panic surged across the globe. For the rest of the year, people continued dying, but not all. Some of the people slowly formed groups, over a few years, small fortresses protecting small towns have been created, but there's a catch. Due to lack of communication from numerous power shortages, a lot of wandering survivors don't know about them. They don't all know that a cure to prevent those bitten from dying has been created, after ten years of research among doctors and scientist that lived.

Will you find one of these scarce safe-places among the deadly world? Will you meet others like you, survivors, to watch each others backs? Is love still possible, even in such hard times...? We'll see.

hello there people of chickensmoothie! i'm squid girl, but you may call me girly, squiddy, or sebbie. there are two people on this account, though sebastian { me } is the only one that roleplays. i'm in my mid teens and i'm a girl, just so you know. ever since i was little i have been hooked onto writing, so i figured that a roleplay would fit me nicely. i try to mirror what others write, but the longest i've ever done is about two paragraphs. my average writing is a range from six to fourteen lines, depending on my muse and if i'm not preoccupied. when roleplaying, i hope that you don't mind that i don't use capital letters. yes, i know capitalization is important and whatnot, but i really don't like pressing the shift key, as my pinkie fingers feel weird pressing them, as i have long nails. i can normally play females, as it is easier for me to roleplay my own gender, but i can try roleplaying a male, as i'd love to give it a shot. i haven't really done a fantasy roleplay either, but i'd love to start! i've made a little list here so you can tell what i would like to roleplay and what i wouldn't. i hope this helps you out!

requirements ;;

before i join a roleplay, i always look to see if it has an interesting plot. now, of course, my idea of interesting may differ from yours, but i'm mainly looking for an idea that is original. i would also like to join a roleplay that hasn't started yet, or, if it has started, is less than five pages into the roleplay, as it is easier for me to catch up. that being said, i would like for the members to be active. i hate joining a roleplay where almost no one is ever online or posting. i would love it if the members were semi-lit, posting maybe between five to ten lines, unless i stated otherwise. please, unless it is an anime or fantasy, i would not like to see any anime characters in the roleplay. that bugs me. i also like to see roleplays where the members have good grammar, punctuation, and spelling, and i wouldn't mind fancy posts.

The usually bustling world is quiet, muzzled by the nuclear war of long ago. The world the humans built has been destroyed, letting nature flourish. As the world changes, the human race has two choices: die or evolve. Some have already started evolving, having both animal and human parts. Each group resents the other, but each group needs the other.To succeed or to destroy, their future lies in each other's hand, hidden, unless they band together.

Echoclan and Lostclan

Quite a few cats had gathered around a pool of water, their starry coated reflections rippling within the puddle.
“We can’t allow this to happen! What will the clans fall to if this prophecy goes on?” A grey and white tom spoke clearly, his blues eyes dancing in worry. A dark tabby she-cat that was sitting beside him laughed at his concern darkly.
“You know we cannot help. The future is set, Echostar,” she replied, looking down into the water with a sombre gaze. Another cat stepped up, a small white she-cat.
“Loststar is right. The only thing we can do is guide the chosen six. If we give up hope on them, the clans will be doomed!” The she-cat sat down, whiskers twitching. There was a murmuring among the cats gathered, until Echostar twitched his tail for silence and then sighed.
“Whitemist is right. We will forewarn the current medicine cats. In time, all will become clear,” the past leader said softly, placing a paw over the surface of the water, making it ripple slightly at his touch.
Loststar nodded, meeting Echostar’s gaze.
“The prophecy will be sent out tonight!” she declared, glancing around at the others. “The clans have faced hardships before. I believe they have the strength to overcome this as well.” With that being said, the others murmured their agreement.

Echostar turned towards a nearby she-cat. “You were a previous medicine cat of Echoclan. You will deliver this message in a dream,” the old leader ordered, and an image of the current Echoclan medicine cat appeared in the puddle before disappearing. The tom nodded, dipping his head.
Loststar spoke up next. “You there! The same goes for you. Deliver the message wisely and leave no room for questions. You know what to do,” the she-cat spoke up, nodding towards a young tom, a former medicine cat of Lostclan. The cat dipped his head in response, looking at the relfection of the current Lostclan medicine cat in the ripples of the pool. Echostar spoke next, almost in a whisper.
“This cannot wait for half-moon. We must hurry.”

A small peaceful island just outside the east coast of the USA.
White Arbor Island was a small fishing village back in the 1800's.

Now the small island town is a quite, and quaint town surrounded by the ocean.
The locals often call it Arbor Island, leaving out the white, because of the impurities of the island.
They say the reason for this is because of a legend only known by the islanders.
The legend goes something like this;

There was a man who loved a women much younger than him,
he stole her,
and kept her to make his wife.
For he loved her, but she did not love him.
So, he killed her leaving her body on the beach the next day.
As legend has it, he made a deal with the island's deity to claim immortality,
and to steal only one girl a year, looking for someone to love,
but if she did not love him, he would kill her.

This legend has gone on since the 1800's, strangely enough one girl disappears every year, to be found days later killed in strange ways, burnt, cut open, decapitated, etc.
All the villagers believe it, but do not tell the small group of tourists that venture to the seemingly peaceful island every year.

The disappearance usually begins the week of the fishing festival known as the
'piscis sacrificando' festival, the festival of fish sacrificing, the most popular and tourist infested time.
During this festival they flow the blood of fish through the river so it runs red, it's a sacrifice to the islands deity.
