Oya is one of the seven ancient primary orishas of great familiarity to the Yoruba religion through parts of Africa.
A fierce Yoruban Goddess known as a keen warrior and protector of women, Oya chooses their allies closely. They
strongly believe in keeping a fair mind until proven otherwise; Oya will even go as far as offering another chance,
as they know first-impressions don’t always go right. They have firm beliefs, though, and it’s hard to change their
mind, especially if they have negative feelings about another being. As the goddess of change and transition, Oya
tends to adapt a very mother-like attitude to those portraying vulnerability. They like keeping their loved ones c
lose, prepared to act like their shield when necessary. Their energy tends to give off a loved-and-feared feeling.

a bit too passionate and involved. Gods and Goddesses familiar to Oya were well-aware of
how their winds reflected their emotions. Even though Oya is known for their fiery demea
nor, they don’t mean harm unless intentionally out for revenge. Their warrior side often
takes away from their encouraging one; in times of change, Oya is right by your side. The

Reg is 5’10, with a lean, athletic build. He has dark
brown hair, which he often wears with a middle
-part. His eyes are dull green, and both of his ears
are pierced. Jewellery is not a rare sight on him;
normally adorning black rings, simplistic woven
bracelets, and at-least one necklace. Clothing
wise, his style is more practical; Black utility
trousers or joggers, often styled with a plain
t-shirt and either a bomber jacket or simple
hoodie, paired with his favourite black beanie.
He’s not one for much colour outside blacks or
greens.

He has multiple tattoos; a lot of abstract black
work tattoos across his back and down his arms.
His hands are often bruised and knuckles cracked
and crusted with scabs from his habits of boxing
to try and break up some of his energy. He looks
pretty rough nowadays, darker under eyes from
lack of sleep, nose tinged red and scelera’s
bloodshot from the times he just crumples to the
floor surrounded by his plants, alone and ever so
lost.

He does atleast care enough to try and keep himself
in shape, he can often be seen going for runs. He’s
an avid “free-runner” choosing to scale rooves, or
leap across railings. In a spiteful way it’s just because
he knows how upset the gods would be at how utterly
inappropriate it is for delicate little pers to be scraping
knees and going to bed with bruises from
misjudging a gap.

He also enjoys the company of animals, so his clothes
are often covered in pet hair; usually canid. When you
struggle with getting attached to people - you look for
ways to fill the void.

The goddess Persephone is known for serving as goddess of Spring, and
was often associated with fertility and love. Realistically, being born to
someone like Demeter is easily reason enough to turn scornful in it’s own
right. But Reg tried to be a good, prosperous goddess, he really did. The
thing is, when you force someone into a mould that doesn’t exactly fit
them, again, and again, and again, they tend to get pretty resentful.
Since he could remember, Reg was babied by his mother in particular,
he wasn’t allowed to have his own opinions, have his own friends, do
what he wanted to do. Everything had to be “approved”. Sit with a stra-
ight back, balance the books on your head. Don’t laugh too loudly; it’s
unbecoming. Be graceful. Be innocent. Be feminine. Yeah well that went
to hell. For all the effort Reg went through to appease the gods, to be
the “perfect” little goddess, he didn’t get a single ounce of thanks for
it. Then he met Hades; someone who wasn’t shallow enough to care
for the specifics of Reg’s situation. Reg even felt like he was beginning
to understand Hades, probably the most misunderstood god of them all.
He’d escape from his overbearing mother and their perfect image of him,
and just be himself in the underworld. He wasn’t a complete savage, he
still held himself with dignity and poise - but he could breathe a little
easier. He figured they were friends, maybe even on their way to being
close friends. And then the rumours started. Reg didn’t give a single care
in all of the universe if the gods thought he had married Hades, but oh,
the absolute hell his mother had given them. Even starting to go
dormant for six months a year, starving the mortals she was supposed
to protect - though of course Hades took the brunt of the blame for that.
Hades also threw Reg out on his backside; and Reg was torn up - he came
to the conclusion that it was Hades’ attempt to save face and remain in
the god’s good graces. Now incredibly resentful towards the god’s ( like
his mother’s) entitled attitudes, the pathetic blaming the mortals do. “Oh,
Hades this, Persephone that,” He just got sick of it. And now he’s here,
alone and damaged. Angry and hurt at Hades’ perceived “betrayal”, he’s not
done well at making more friends. He’s developed a very juvenile sense of
attachment and abandonment issues.

Now he’s just a shell of his former self; spending most of his time in England
or France as a model throughout the decades. He’s finally made enough
money to be a struggling florist in Oracle. He owns his little plant shop,
tentatively taking care of the various houseplants with what pathetic power
he has left. He spends most days either repotting sad green plants,
getting ‘bitten’ by cacti or making floral arrangements for marriage or
whatever people are into nowadays. A bouquet here and there for some
unfaithful dirtbag to go begging to their partner that cheating was a mistake.
Yeah, mortals are not reg’s favourite company. Some days, if he’s in a good mood
(or upset and in need of trying to lighten himself up), he’ll weave intricate
and leafy flower crowns. There’s still some softness left in him, it’s a shame
it’s buried by resentment for most of the universe.

So much for showing everyone how strong and independent he can be. At least
he gets to be comfortable in his own skin now, considering his behaviour - his
identity is the least of Demeter’s worries.

trivia
i. forces himself to go to bars, even just to drink lemonade,
he knows he needs to make an effort to socialise so he doesn’t
succumb to the depths of his own mind. there’s a time and a
place for his eternal pity-party. ii. doesn’t have hayfever, likes
to occasionally brag about it - especially to mortals iii. has a
british accent now, and is still adjusting to a few of the american
customs, he’s just glad people don’t pay him much mind iv. does
enjoy poker v. he’s not really sure where he stands, he’s probably
considered transgender, but he’s happy with his appearance and identity now
regardless of his turmoils when he was still under demeter’s gaze. he’s just
appreciative that gods have the ability to change what they want
vi. doesn’t hate everyone, but he holds a mean grudge and he is so
hellbent on remembering how he was treated that he’s in the mindset of
it’ll be so much easier to appease people if there’s no one left to appease.

Peregrine “reg” woods - [ ✮ ] - Reg has struggled with himself for a long time. He’s strives to be independent and self sufficient. He wants to be who he is, not what other people want him to be. There are times he doubts himself, maybe if he had forced himself into the image a bit harder - things would’ve worked out. But now isn’t the time to ponder, he’s made his bed and now he will stubbornly lay in it.

'Its…complicated'
hades “vyn” - [ ✮ ★ ☆ ] - When Hades’ cut him off, he took it badly. He was so blindsided by the hurt that he didn’t bother to think that perhaps Hades did it out of a place of concern. Instead he took it at face-value, crestfallen at the idea his friend had just turned tail and ran when the gods showed their displeasure. He’s not naive enough to call Hades a coward, but he’s spent awhile confused about why Hades tossed him so easily. Reg’s stubborn and untrusting behaviour doesn’t help, but maybe if he bumps into Hades again and doesn’t immediately try to dodge them, they can have some sort of talk and Reg might understand that Hades didn’t mean to cause him pain.

zhinü - [ ✮ ] - Reg isn’t entirely sure what to make of her. They have a uh, tense, acquaintanceship. He ran into her as part of his job, since he’s dabbled in making flower arrangements for weddings simply to make ends meet. He immediately shut down any chance at a friendship, or even a positive relationship really. He prefers to tease, and make offhand comments in an attempt to rattle her, or get a rise out of her. However her kind demeanour is rather soothing, and at times he finds himself lingering without excuse.

✹ ─── has changed careers repeatedly over the centuries & takes a new hu
man identity each time. the only constant is that her career choices are alw
ays fueled by her unchecked desire to know everything — she's played at bei
ng a reporter, blogger, & PR specialist... but always quits eventually because
too much effort, too few rewards.
✹ ─── the only exception thus far has been in owning a bar, which she bou
ght and built up on her own with the money she amassed from her other bor
ing jobs. it's such an easy way to hear interesting news every day!
