Meek, timid, and anxious, Lucia is a quiet and sensitive────────── ✦ ──────────
youth whose unassuming front greatly contrasts her origi
ns. They hail from House Astor, a small noble family with
territory near the Alliance-Empire border, something the
y aren’t very proud of due to the disgraced status of the
ir family name. Rumors abound about the Astor line, and
Lucia is loath to admit that some are true. Namely, the o
ne where under the glow of the full moon (and under ex
treme duress), those bearing the mysterious Crest the fa
mily has carried for generations will transform into a blo
odthirsty beast. None in the current-day Astor family are
certain about the source of the curse—all, however, have
felt its effects.
Due to this curse, Lucia considers themself a monster, al
beit not in a self-deprecating or even wholly negative m
anner; to them, it is a simple fact. Between this and her
natural introversion, she tends to keep her distance from
others. At their core, Lucia is very sweet, kind, and comp
assionate, but their nervous disposition and lack of willin
gness to approach others can make them seem somewhat
aloof at first. Though she’ll be friendly and polite unless
given drastic reason not to, she doesn’t like taking risks
and sticks to her comfort zone, especially in social situat
ions—rarely does Lucia become close with others if they
don’t actively engage with her. With those they do consi
der close friends, however, Lucia’s apparent standoffish
ness gives way to a more open, affectionate demeanor.
Over the past several years, they have managed to come
out of their shell a significant amount, but they are still
deeply reserved and withdrawn.
The war has not done much to ease Lucia’s worries; on
the contrary, they’ve fallen back on some of their old pa
tterns amidst the chaos and strife. As a minor noble, she
has had little to worry about in terms of status or territo
ry, although House Astor’s reluctance to openly ally itself
with either side has not exactly helped its reputation. M
uch of Lucia’s time recently has been devoted to caring
for their older sister, who has recently fallen ill, bringing
Lucia’s previous lack of concern over their family title a
nd territory—being the youngest of three living siblings—
into question. Overall, these are strenuous times Lucia
has found herself living in, and she is quite fearful for h
er family, her former classmates, and the world as a wh
ole. They have always been quite pacifistic (in their hum
an form, at least), and conflict of any degree makes the
m very uneasy; she considers her aptitude with the bow
and lance a necessary evil dictated by the state of the w
orld in which she lives. Outright optimism is far beyond
Lucia’s grasp, but they hope for the best regardless.
