I think Satekhau and Andrea mostly being okay with each other (though probably not starting as initially very friendly or anything, the personalities don't seem to match entirely) but with two points of contention would probably make the most sense:
1) Him getting really pinickity while she speaks Vulcan, interspersed with very occasional "actually you're pretty good" type comments. The pinickity ness feeling to far outweigh any compliments however.
2) He would not be unwilling to lie in situations where it made the most logical sense. I mean, it's not exactly a frequent thing that lying is genuinely the best option, but withholding information is a lot more frequently and that could make things a little awkward.

That's how I see what their relationship would be like at the Academy. Not anything near being something like enemies but just a little uncomfortable.
Adapt the idea how you will anyway.

It's also probably worth noting I'll be away a couple of days (unless I can find Wi-Fi) but feel free to iron out how you'd see it going and so on.

@Chamrosh : I really like your idea of Satekhau and Andrea being awkward acquaintances. They would really only know each other from shared classes in the Academy. I think Andrea occasionally approached Satekhau and had short conversations with him in Vulcan to practice the language, with him correcting her like you said in the first point.

Andrea likes how he is a fairly calm and intelligent but does not fully trust him due to the fact that he withholds information when he thinks it is necessary. She sometimes gets frustrated by the lack of emotion Satekhau shows but hides it, trying to understand that it is the way he is and is what he was taught.

[+] Sung-Hyun Park ;; Sung-Hyun and Astrid are great friends, having met at the Academy and continued to stay in touch when they parted into career paths. She's relieved to have someone aboard she knows for certain she can rely on and is eager to reconnect with him.

[+] Francis Lothbrook ;; Astrid shares Francis' intellectual qualities but sees his overall temperament as an interesting contrast to her own, figuring that there's more to him than meets the eye. She's unaware how similar they actually are, though, in terms of career goals and their love for Starfleet.

[=] Venus Rolan Jones ;; Astrid knows very little about the young girl, but what she does know makes her worried. The girl's a genius, supposedly, but also has a very big ego. As Astrid doesn't, the likelihood of a clash is very high. Until they're better acquainted though, it's hard to tell.

Astrid Henley - Captain
Neutral
Satekhau doesn't know a huge amount about the captain.
He'ssure she will be a good captain, but her emotions,
quick temper and head-strong nature are at least
concerns he has for her making the right decisions, and
of course, he has respectfor her on merit of her being
captain- he's sure Starfleet chose her carefully for the
role, and trusts this decision. He finds her remarks at
least mildly amusing, even if he won't express this.


Francis Lothbrook - Chief Medical Officer
Overall positive
Satekhau appreciates having a fellow scientist aboard
the Enterprise, even if he's from a rather different role.
They probably end up in contact fairly frequently
whenever anything goes seriously wrong when meeting
a new alien species. If it weren't for his temperamental
nature (and Satekhau's confusion about his crab-fear),
he would be seen very positively.

Andrea Mei Yu - Communications Officer
Positive
He isn't too close with her, but has helped her with
her Vulcan language skills. Satekhau thinks she's
doing very well with it. Although he's more restrained,
he does appreciate her bluntness to some extent.
There's probably a lot of respect for her dedication,
but he'd want her to be more realistic with her
expectations of herself if he knew how far she goes
for her work ethic.

Evangiline Crowley - Helmsman
Neutral
Satekhau values Evangiline's loyalty and scholarliness
greatly; in fact, it would be reasonable to assume
that they could end up avoiding overly emotional
events together with reading matter. Her integrity
and genuine interest in her role are both
appreciated. He has a respect for her attempts to
cope with her disorder, even if it, alongside her
being argumentative and impulsive is confusing.

Jedediah Armansky - Head Nurse
Overall positive
Satek has a high level of respect for the Head
Nurse, in most aspects of his personality, especially
with the acknowledgement that any sternness is in
all likelihood genuine concern. His obsession with
perfection is a little confounding, especially his reaction
to it; it's only logical to be disappointed in things you
could still make go better, and Jed certainly seems to
try his best in the first place.

Dakota Conway - Navigator
Neutral, leaning to positive
Her observance and calm are definitely a bonus for
her. Satekhau wouldn't say it, but in a way he likes
there being another not-pure-human around,
especially one from another species with some form
of telepathy. However, she can be mildly "annoying"
at times; in her snapping at people, and in her (to
him) dichotomy of being both quiet and a loner
(which are interpreted as "secretive") and also
curious about others.

Sung-Hyun- Tactician
Neutral
Satekhau respects his role and the skills that
come with it as well as his dedication and
reliability. His procrastination and emotional nature
are not appreciated. However, it's understood that
he has to prioritise the needs of the majority of the
crew, and that needs an emotional individual.


Venus Jones - Chief Engineer
Neutral
Venus' cockiness is somewhat unnerving to Satekhau,
especially her high propensity for it, and alongside
her insecurity. However, she seems to do her job
with the engines with high skill and reliability, so
he can't argue with results. He sees no point in
judging her before actually meeting her properly.



Harlan Wethern - Security Officer
Overall a little positive
Satek appreciates having a fellow scientist aboard,
and would be very happy to expand that interest if
Harlan were interested. Satek finds his sarcasm
somewhat confusing, and is a little off-put by his
stubbornness, but having someone who remains calm
is certainly good in his eyes.

(I like this idea of summarising how they are likely to view each other, so I shall copy it from all you guys, if that's okay. I tried to fit what's already been said before in in a way, but tell me if you want me to change these summaries. I'll also update, probably in another colour with bullet points, as we go along.)
I'm also trying to write a sort of "Once he has started to get to know them but doesn't know them much yet" thing here. Feel free to ask me to amend stuff, but I'll be doing that myself in response to the rp.

I'm going to say that we'll be starting in the next few days, as I've talked with bohdi, and we've concluded that it would be best to get the roleplay active in order to fill the few spots we have left. Hopefully an active roleplay will draw attention c:

I'll start writing up a first post, but in the meantime I want to know what everyone else thinks about it. It'd be easy to slip our remaining spots into the roleplay at any time, as they're either not on the bridge or not super relevant until the ship gets moving.
