Windstar is a ruthless, sinister ruler, the stern and cold tom taking pride in his nobility and ancestry. He always takes the words of Starclan seriously, as he travels upstream once a moon to meet his departed kin. He's willing to be friendly as long as the cats prove their unconditional loyalty to the clan, otherwise, he treats other cats according to their rank.
Windstar takes all these qualities from his late father, whom he respected until his last breath. The old tom taught his sons the laws of the forest and the warrior code to perfection, trained him daily and prepared him for the harsh challenges of leaf-bare, only to leave to Starclan during his son's apprenticehood.
