@mist: yay! Phantom would probably want her to not leave so fast too, though he'd accept it if she goes willingly. XD So many of his daughters are going to Earls HAHA Sammy would have a herd with 2 of Phantom's maidens. XD

@omni: that's a testament to how much trouble the other two stallions have if I ever saw one XD

Hmmmm... maybe later when they go into Idavoll? I don't see a way where Phantom would willingly let any of his mares disappear after Eliza already went after Stjerne and Signe is birthing. Especially with the way Bjorn is acting right now, Phantom knows that they might get chased out soon so he'd be quite reluctant to let anyone even wander.

@everyone: side note, is the storm ending soon?

I want to make a pregnant mare or a mare with a young son sksksksk. Tragic if it was a young colt and a stallion killed the colt to bring her into heat /-\

Oooh so maybe as they leave from the storm Astrid can get distracted? Wait Ches is the storm ending soon or will it continue for a while more?

Oooh, drama. Does that happen though? I thought mares come back into heat quite rapidly after birth even if you don't kill their young?

To my knowledge stallions will kill any foal that isn't theirs
even if the mare is in her foal heat. Stallions kill foals that aren't
theirs because it's a rivals off-spring. Kinda like how when male
lions take over a pride they kill all the small cubs because they
aren't their offspring and their main goal is to spread their own
genetic lineage, along with throwing the female back into estrus
but most wild animals won't serve as a 'step-father' of sorts to
offspring they know isn't theirs since that means they are putting
energy into offspring that isn't theirs so therefore they don't carry
his genetic code.

Oh, huh. No wait, lions do it because once a lionness has young she will not go into heat again until her cub is either 2 years old or dead, so killing the young can make the lionness go into heat again immediately.

Stallions I think is respective of the stallion? Actually I'm not sure ignore me LOL

I know zebras kill young that isn't theirs though.

Yes stallions will kill rival’s foals. However this role play is relaxed on the realistic side. I would like the horses to remain within the boundaries of their species but whether they choose to spare the foal or not is respective to the stallion. You’d think fillies would be spared but not colts.

If you wanted you could add in that Bjorn has already shown aggression. In his last post near the end he told Alfheim off. XD

for lions it's a mix of both bring them back into heat since they won't if they're nursing and to kill off a rival's bloodline/strengthen their own
there's been records of stallions killing foals in other herds too just to prosper their own lines, but some also are known to accept unrelated colts, i know of one documentary that has a stallion keeping his unrelated son past the 2-year mark possibly due to the increase in mountain lions
mares have even been known to kill unrelated orphans, especially if they're persistent and there's a drought, they will beat up a foal if it gets too close

@lyn - hehehe, sammy gets all the phantom ladies, even if he doesn't keep them all [eliza]
it would be hilariously bad if thera ends up sneaking over to bjorn at one point and birthing a champagne foal, can just imagine titan's face like 'wth that ain't mine'

and he won't force eliza to stay if she doesn't want to stick around so she can just leave after he covers her so phantom doesn't have to leave the herd unprotected

psh, atreus will have the biggest freaking crush on frigg when they get older, he'll be her little protector while also goofing off with gersemi from time to time

@blue & omni - lol is it bad that i can see sammy teasing haukr about stealing astrid?
