the strong will survive and thrive while the weak will fall prey to the apex predators. if yo
u don't adapt quickly you won't last. it's home to a blazing dry season that sends animals w
ho aren't capable straight to their death. its inhabitants have evolved over thousands of y
ears to survive the seasons that come every year. they live and breathe their admired stre
ngth. none are more dangerous in this land than the lions who prowl the open plains. band
ing together in prides they are ruled by the powerful kings and guided by the intelligent q
ueens. the prides have adapted to survive. with full bellies and control over different terri
tories they are fearsome protectors. however with the approaching dry season there are t
wo prides that have begun fighting over prey and access to the watering hole. as tensions
rise fights have become more frequent and the inevitable may be a war.

king. the dominant male in the pride, he provides protection to
the lionesses and fends off predators and lone males. rarely assi
sts but will help with larger prey. is mated to the queen but will
father offspring of the other lionesses
queen. the dominant female in the pride, she organizes and lea
ds the hunts and helps keep the territory safe by alerting the ki
ng to any threats she or the lionesses have seen. mated to the k
ing.
lionesses. the females of the pride who are above two years of a
ge. they help keep the pride safe and participate in the hunts. to
gether they care for the young in the pride.
yearlings. lions, both male and female, in the pride who haven't r
eached two years of age yet. at two females are allowed to leave
or stay and males are forced from the pride by the king.
cubs. these are the youngest in the pride who are younger than si
x months. watched by the lionesses
lone lionesses. females who aren't part of a pride, can go to a king
or a lone male
lone lion. males who aren't dominant enough to have a large pride
and be a king. they may have one or two females to themselves.

one of three original prides this one has stood the test of time
throughout the years. it lives on the northern border of the ri
ver that divides the two prides. towards the river it is lush pla
ins and further away there exists the beginnings of the jungle
though the pride doesn't venture far in. their territory provide
s excellent shade and an extra source of water (though the po
nds dries out early in the dry season). there are smaller amou
nts of prey and thus the pride often crowds near the river to a
wait any chances. tough and resilient they aren't scared to cr
oss the river in chase of their prey.

a pride that has only had one existing king before the current,
though young it has shown a fierceness for survival that hasn't
been seen in several years. they live on the open plains south
of the river. it has nearly no shade except for what is provided
by a few trees spotted here and there. it's only source of wate
r is the river which they share with the other prides. however,
their territory is full of prey which would be good except for t
he trouble it can potentially bring around.

currently it is the very end of the wet season, the rains are beco
ming more sparse and the heat has begun to get more intense. th
e water sources haven't begun drying up yet but will soon become
more shallow before eventually they will dry up. prey is still plent
iful but has begun to gather more towards the river beds in an att
empt to keep themselves hydrated in rising temperatures.
