Denahi grinned and overheard the conversation before. Ophelia, Salem, and Spectre taking the night shift, causing him great joy. A gentle sigh released out of him. Though Denahi probably would stay up all night, but at least he would be watching over the camp and not far off from camp in the long night. "Maybe one night, but not tonight." he laughed a little. "They took it off my shoulders for once, I'm not complaining this time. Next time we'll go together for sure.." he spoke in a calm tone. He hadn't had a lot of energy and was glad he got out of the night work tonight. He was exhausted after the past couple days or working the night patrol, getting a break would feel good for him. Watching the sunset's reflection in her eyes and grinned.

Denahi bowed his head at his alpha. Having nothing but upmost respect for the alpha male. He was nothing but understanding, and compassionate to the pack. Denahi could never see anyone else as the alpha, especially Anibus. Such a cold hearted, and vengeful individual. Nobody like him should ever rule a pack with such attitude. After Laurens went on to mingle with other pack members about the situation at hand. He turned his attention back to Calla and her former lover. He felt for her, and felt quite bad. Not sure the exact situation, Denahi had felt heart break a couple times so far at a young age. The male found it hard to ever open himself up to others. No matter how much he tried, though he had many times. Denahi pinned his ears back to his head and flicked his tail around a few times. He wanted to help her in this situation, or at least help tease the other wolf if she really intended too. Unsure of her true emotions, but would at least question it.

Denahi listened to her speak of the red wolf, the one that broke her heart it seemed. He was very clueless about the situation. Denahi wasn't one for pettiness, but decided maybe for once it was warranted.
"Well, if you want to make him jealous." Denahi spoke in a mellow tone and grinned at her. He circled around her and brushed his tail under her chin once more and stood taller than her. Blocking Davyn's view of her. Denahi whipped his tail back and forth and licked his maw. "I'm not one for petty antics, but if you need anything to show off to Davyn I'm here. You are probably one of the sweetest wolves here, lets be real. It was the biggest mistake of his life." The tall wolf stood above her and raised his brow. "so whats it? It seems like a little fun?" he spoke and rubbed his face onto hers. "A little bit of fun won't be too bad huh? Its all up to you though.." The tall brute spoke in a hush tone, and looked at her with a grin. His body sunken over as he looked at her. Not sure is he was catching the right emotions from her or not, if that was truly what she wanted to do.

Zuri whipped her tail around and licked her maw. She tilted her head seeing Thanatos drift off into his own little thoughts. As he stared at the snow white omega and bared his teeth. Zuri pinned her ears back and rubbed her head under his chin. "hey, hey it's okay.." she spoke in a warm motherly tone. "Everything's dropped now, lets move on." Zuri smiled and licked his cheek. Hearing the pack speak of hunting, most of them going to pull food from the forest before more issues happened with the omen. Or Anubis decided to show his ugly mug again. The pack was mostly built for fighting, not many fit around for hunting. But they needed all paws when they could get them right now. Zuri tilted her head and thought to herself. Wondering what the best strategy would possibly be for the hunt. Hoping they'd take something out bigger than a raccoon this time. Many were going out on the hunt though, so maybe they'd get a deer this time. She licked her maw in anticipation. Ready for a big sized meal. Forgetting all about the rouge while eagerness took her over for food.

Unsure if she were to join the hunt, or help organize all the herbs and plants for medications. Maybe finding a better hiding spot. Zuri whipped her head around hearing Thanatos speak again. Shall they wait for Folkvar in the morning or now? Zuri was always lost in her own thoughts missing more of the conversation. She looked at Davyn, who seemed off in his own little world as well. "I hope you guys are very successful on the hunt tomorrow," she spoke to Davyn with a smile.
"I'm sure you'll do Laurens proud, and all of us." she nodded her head and smiled. She was a pretty decent hunter, not minding if she was suppose to tag along. but she absolutely loved her herbs.

DAVYN
Male | Five | Subordinate | Thanatos, Zuri, Laurens

The herbalists description of the rogue troubled Davyn, letting his brows pull together to share the emotion. He didn't like the sound of a stranger "putting them in their place." She was wise in her words, which made their impact greater. Still, their numbers were greater. Even if Anubis was to challenge Laurens and win, it wasn't like the pack had to stand behind him. No more than they had to stand behind Laurens. Being a loner was never an appealing option in his opinion, but it was an option that most of them could easily pick over dealing with an alpha they could not trust. So in the end, the pack might fair quite well, perhaps pick up roots and move elsewhere, or else split off and go their separate ways. Either way, Anubis probably wouldn't get the power that he wanted. Or would he? Perhaps the pack would stay. Folkvar pulling Laurens aside the moment he arrived, the looks shared between them. Maybe the pack had already been following an untrustworthy leader. Which wasn't an easy thought for the red wolf. But he couldn't shut away all the little hints that had been dropped for some time now that he was hiding something from them. But it could be something tiny, so Davyn, not a mind reader, stuck with trusting him.

"Aye, persistence is a powerful tool. Much of the forces of nature work with persistence to lead to destruction, not a quick attack and then done. With persistence, almost anything is possible." He turned again to Thanatos as he spoke, and then looked to the rabbit and past it to Folkvar. Davyn was hesitant about asking him about it now, as I imagine after a day like this one he would already be so very busy. It would probably lessen the shamen's stress if they waited till morning. "I imagine that he may be too busy with all that has happened to see us tonight," he began, still shifting his weight forward. "But, if you feel it would be good, then we should try. I have a rabbit to offer to the gods anyway." He may have believed himself to be never wrong, to be perfect in his choices and actions, but he also felt that the ideas of others shouldn't be put off because they had lesser intelligence. Not only because they had great value otherwise, but that sometimes seeing things from a simpler standpoint drew answers not thought of by a more complex mind. Not that Thanatos was all that dumb. No, Davyn thought he was at least average, though he did let his instincts take over and hide that often. Who knows, maybe that was the cause of his silence? A complex mind had certainly drawn the red wolf into long bouts of silent contemplation from time to time. An interesting thought, for -

Oh come on. Couldn't give him a moment's peace? The red wolf felt the need to gouge out his eyes for their betrayal, for drawing their amber gaze back to Calla and her current pursuit. He had to see them that way, nameless, in the hopes that he could detach this image of them from who he kept running into day after day. It was becoming increasingly more difficult. It wasn't exactly their fault that she drew them in like a Siren. Nor could he put the blame on her, though that was much more from a personal bias... that was it, though, he'd have to remove his eyes. And ears, perhaps. It all started the trip from a momentary (and at this point honestly ridiculous) moment of shock, followed by each muscle tensing up, starting from the clenching of his teeth down his back and into each leg. Like his whole being was winding up to fly into battle. And yet this battle was against himself, and either way he felt like he was losing. To this came almost the taste of vomit in his throat, as even his stomach complained from how tightly he wound himself up. A pain deep in his chest, spreading outwards almost to his shoulders as he watched the currently nameless male move until he could not see Calla any longer.

But this had to stop. Davyn could not let this get to him, could not let it draw him in. He was torturing himself, allowed himself to watch, lips curled back before he could gather his thoughts and stop himself. He had to get out of here.

Again Zuri came to the rescue, bringing him back just long enough to get his hijacked brain in motion again. Had to get out. He had to get out. She encouraged him, which was rare. Or, rare for wolves to do in general. Usually he was the one doing the encouraging, not the other way around. Usually he didn't need any. You rarely needed encouragement when you could find no fault with yourself. Though, someone so precious to him had apparently, so he felt increasingly more doubtful about himself. And he just kept messing up over and over, unable keep hold of his control over emotions, something he hadn't a problem with since he was a pup. He had to get out. "Thank you Zuri, that is very kind of you. Though I should not be surprised. You have always been this way. His amber eyes had cleared of the rather threatening glare that he had been fighting with before, and he stood and walked slowly over to the large rabbit he had killed earlier in the day. "Perhaps we can discuss hunting tonight before turning in, so that while on the trail we can say little. I have something in mind. He lowered his fine head to the rabbit, eyes widened for a moment and he lifted it again to look at them. "Would you be so kind as to retrieve the others if they wish to come, Zuri? And then come yourself as well. It may be a good chance for you to collect plants safely while we are hunting. Then you would not have to search alone. With that he motioned for Thanatos to follow, picked up the rabbit, and headed toward their shamen with the sacrifice. He got himself out of there.

Ooc: Hoping you can use the blessing somehow as a way or reason for Folkvar to separate and run into Wen? Maybe? Idk XD Just trying.

Also started a seed of doubt for their leader. SOMEONE has to be at least a little doubtful. Might as well be him XD

𝙵 𝙾 𝙻 𝙺 𝚅 𝙰 𝚁 ── † ── "i fear nothing but the God's judgement"
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
( shaman ) ( male ) ( six years ) ( tagged: davyn, eirwen ) ( mentions: none )

The shaman had brought himself to the Overlook at a slow pace, hesitant to reach it in fear that once again there would be silence from his beloved Gods. He wasn't sure how much more silence he could stand. Never had he experienced such personal turmoil at the hands of those he prayed to for guidance. Even when he had been young, his life shrouded in darkness, he could clearly remember the faint white glow that had taunted him. Skoll had always been there for him, watching over his life and advising him. He couldn't fathom which was worse: lacking his eyesight or his insight. As he found his way to the edge he sat down on his haunches and for the first time in several days didn't bother to toss his head back and call to Hati. Recalling the hunt he instead turned his mind to Vor now and spoke, his voice booming, "Vor, Goddess of the hunt and the all knowing. Bringer of knowledge hear me now and guide me. This pack, so burdened without your gift of knowledge of this omen turns to you now as we embark on a hunt. Guide our paws and our noses, direct us to a feast and in return only the finest will be brought to you. Offered to show our appreciation for your gratitude." He remained still for a moment before feeling the whispers of a wind. They pulled at his fur and the shaman's eyes followed their direction; Vor was speaking to him guiding their path West. Relief flooded through him. For now, it seemed, they weren't forsaken.

He dipped his head in respect before standing and turning to venture back down the short mountain path. He'd only made it halfway down when he saw Davyn following after him with a rabbit in his mouth. Although gracious and normally appropriate this time it wouldn't do. Only a plentiful piece from the pack's catch would do now. He stopped a few paces away and looked down to them, "Your sacrifice is a gracious gift Davyn, but for now only a plentiful piece from your catch will do. Vor has spoken to me, she has gifted me with her knowledge. You will go due West, there-" the shaman stopped abruptly as a chilled wind once again ruffled his fur and the moon's light was revealed. Almost as if in a trance Folkvar's head turned upwards, eyes focused intently on the sight. Something was pulling him, it was calling him. He began walking without thought, guided by an unknown force. It was a longing, a desire so deep that he could do nothing but follow it. He'd never felt this before and there was a feeling deep within his chest that the ghostly figure of a white wolf that haunted him was what pulled him.

He had glided past Davyn and the others, turned away from the pack of wolves lining the camp. One could have stopped directly in front of him and the shaman wouldn't have seen them, he couldn't have heard the mighty calls of the Gods, and a mortal wound could not have slowed him. Something was out there. He needed to go to it, he needed to find it. Stepping into the forest it was not his eyes that told him which way to go to avoid a tree or step over a rock, it was as if Skoll had grabbed him by the scruff like he was a pup and carried him through it. What was out there? Was it danger or was it the Gods himself, in their mortal flesh, who desired to see him? "What is it you seek me to know? What lies out here? This land once so loving that is now so dangerous for us?" Something in the distance began to take form and an odd feeling of peace settled over him, as though the warm fur of a mother curled around him to send him off to sleep.

Once he was closer a soft glow of white, clearly that of a wolf, appeared to him. The closer they got to him and the true paleness of the wolf was revealed. Donned with a gorgeous white coat, eyes filled with white ice, and a nose as pink as flesh this was a wolf of purity. Skoll. That was what had pulled him, Hati had guided him to meet the one who had guarded over him. Instantly Folkvar's front half dropped in a bow and his forehead dropped to touch the ground, "Skoll, God of the sun and righteousness, gifter of my sight. You've come to me in these times of trouble. I praise you." It never once occurred to him that this wolf, the one who had walked in his dreams, was not at all a God but nonetheless would be a blessing to the shaman.

Kesera had become lost in the words that flew around the small camp, so many different opinions and conversations often distracted the female. She'd have to force herself to focus once again. Her attention turned suddenly when Laurens' reentered the group with an aura of frustration and dominance surrounding him. Surrounding was the wrong word, it rolled off of him in waves and let everyone around them know that he was not to be tested. She gently leaned into Isorro and watched closely as he pulled Folkvar aside to speak. Their conversation seemed a bit tense and hushed, clearly not for the ears of other pack members. As soon as it ended Folkvar stepped up to speak, explaining to the pack that Anubis had returned. She'd heard of him only through stories the pack members told but her thoughts had yet to be solidified like so many of the pack. Kesera found it hard to believe that the wolf was truly that terrible, there was something good about him surely.

As Isorro spoke beside her she turned to look up at him and another warm feeling filled her. As simple as it was she enjoyed hearing that she was his own little comfort. It pleased her knowing that no one else could do that for him, as weird as it seemed. Though selfish, she wanted to be the only one he could find that in. That way he'd gravitate towards her naturally, he'd come to her when he was frustrated and even when he was calm. She'd have him to herself. She smiled softly and reached up to lick his cheek, "You flatter me so Isorro. I'm happy to be there for you." As they found their spot within the camp she sat down and listened attentively as different thoughts on the situation began circulating. Truthfully she didn't have much of one herself, or at least something that'd be taken seriously. Ever the peaceful being she almost always sought out the path of agreement and peace instead of fighting. In this situation she doubted this would be an acceptable decision.

All of this was making her slightly on edge. She couldn't believe how far out of control this seemed to be getting. Everyone was so tense, Laurens was publicly disciplining Onyx; she had mentioned before that Isorro was susceptible to the emotions of the pack but apparently Kesera wasn't immune to them either. The hostility made her anxious truth be told and it wasn't until she felt Isorro comfort her that she eased at all and pressed herself further against him. So he was showing to be her own solace as well it seemed. She had never needed anyone to protect her, from a young age her intelligence had provided her an advantage in battle. Therefore, needing protection was rarely something that crossed her mind, she found protection in her own abilities. However, being next to Isorro it was like this cloud of security had blanketed her. It was a nice change.

She sat a bit more rigid as Laurens approached with Albatross and Kiara, although clearly it was a show of respect to her alpha. She listened quietly as Laurens' asked of her to go with the other two to seek out the loner, Daenarys. Apparently the wolf that Laurens' was choosing to take on as his mate. She nodded her head gently as Laurens' explained why he sought her out as well, "Of course Laurens', you have my word I'll protect them with my life." Though she didn't say it this task filled her with concern. She doubted Laurens' wanted to wait for them to go get her and Albatross certainly wouldn't which mean they'd be leaving soon. Seeking out a loner didn't scar her nor did the thought of running into Anubis, it was going into the night with unskilled fighters. If they ran into anything other than a single hostile enemy she would be risking her life to protect them and even than she couldn't guarantee their safety, that was the concerning part.

Thanatos rolled his eyes at Zuri's remark and a low growl rumbled in his chest. He moved away from the fae to get a better focus on the task at hand, turning to Davyn he added, "yes, lets discuss everything tonight, that way there are no further set backs before or during the hunt." Thanatos looked around at the other wolves still mingling and his ear twitched when Davyn asked Zuri if she wanted to look for herbs during the hunt so she wasn't alone. The thought made him once again roll his eyes, thinking about how well that went the last time she went out for herbs. Though Davyn was right, it would be killing two birds with one stone. He let out a sigh, and followed the small red male, on the way to the Overlook. It was rare that Thanatos was spotted up here, as the big brute wasn't a shaman and didn't often come here for blessings. As the two walked, Thanatos stayed slightly behind, he looked up at the top and noticed the Shaman was making his way down to the two wolves. As the Shaman spoke of a plentiful catch as a sacrifice, Thanatos mentally rolled his eyes, he was getting moody and now was not the time to spare good food. He didn't let his aggravation show, just listened to the older male ahead of him and nodded.

It was rather strange that the shaman just wandered off but it wasn't Thanatos' place to stop him, he instead watched as the brute disappeared into the forest. Not saying much, other than slight mumbling to the Gods. He shook his head and spoke, his voice deep,
"We should gather the others outside the den and get to planning, as we all need sleep to bring home extra food for a sacrifice tomorrow." Thanatos huffed as he turned around to head back to camp, annoyed with hunting already, the extra food really boiled his blood. Why must they give something valuable to Gods that don't listen, there was a pack to feed as they all need to be in their best shape just incase Anubis were to show his mug.

      ANUBIS !!
      ▸ male ▸ 6½ ▸ loner ▸ tag: nyx, onyx
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

“The goddess Nyx, huh? That has quite the ring to it, I’ve never heard of such before. But my knowledge rests on the Norse gods, maybe even a tiny bit on the Ancient Egyptian gods. I am named after one,” he grinned. He found her name to be quite nice, actually. Turns out there were more names with darker meanings behind them that he knew of. “Anubis, an Egyptian god of death and embalming,” his ears would swivel upon hearing her compare him to Ragnarok, which meant the final battle of the gods. He grinned wickedly, he liked the sound of that. The final battle of the gods? He would indeed love to be a god in a battle, oh how fun and exciting that sounded. The onyx furred brute stepped forward and began to circle the female once again. He was slow, and not really studying her this go around. “A new alpha is certainly in order, Laurens does not deserve the position he has, and the wolves that are loyal to him have no boundaries or concepts of how to live in a pack,” the brute scowled, eyes flicking back towards Nyx. “The moment I challenged Laurens I am certain they planned their attack. I would have won, if not for the shaman stepping in and helping Laurens. The only reason Laurens won is because of that. They were, and probably still are, ignorant. They don’t know when to back down, or follow orders,” he spat, turning back to Nyx. “I am positive that if I put them into line, they would not have the angry gods breathing down their neck right now. Of course, I would enjoy the company of a loyal wolf on my side,” he stood next to her, golden orbs flicked over to eye her from the side. He let a wry grin pull at the corner of his maw, wondering if Nyx would accept his very, very vague offer. Part of him had wished that Onyx had not left, but he figured it was for the better. It would probably be easier to claim both one at a time rather than at the same time. “I find it fascinating that a lot of them trust you, although, who wouldn’t? You’re eyes are ever so inviting,”

      QUETZAL !!
      ▸ male ▸ 6 ▸ subordinate ▸ tag: laurens, macaroon
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Quetzal’s ears perked atop his head, despite everything going on around him, even Folkvar’s howl, hadn’t managed to make the brute rise from his spot. He was awake and had been for a while, but he enjoyed his sunbathing time. The brute rose his head, eyes meeting those of the yearling Macaroon. He grinned at her, “Hello,” he murmured just before his jaws widened into a yawn, a shrill whine escaping his maw. He finally hoisted himself up to sit on his haunches, “Indeed we haven’t. Macaroon, correct?” he took a guess at her name, just to be sure. Out of the corner of his vision, he could see Laurens approaching them, a soft chuckle escape the alpha’s maw before he spoke. "And you, Quez, are on babysitting duty. Teach Macaroon the way we hunt so that she may provide for us when we're old and useless." Quetzal rose to his feet, giving a nod. Babysitting duty? That shouldn’t have been too difficult, should it? Maybe not, but was Quetzal really the wolf he wanted to take over that duty? Quetzal acted in accordance and answered with a ‘yes alpha’ nevertheless, despite being unsure of how to even being to teach the yearling how to hunt.

Macaroon 04

----------------------------------------
Macaroon nodded happily as Quetzal greeted her. She looked to him as he yawned, and automatically her muzzle opened in a yawn as well. She turned her head away from him, yawning quietly. Her tongue rolled slightly as she did so. “Indeed we haven’t. Macaroon, correct?” He said to her and she nodded quickly, both as a reply, and to shake the yawn from her muzzle. “Yup! That’s me!” She said confidently, sniffling slightly. “You’re Quetzal, huh.” She added. She only knew the wolf from seeing him around camp; she couldn’t recall ever being assigned to him for patrol or another duty. She looked up slightly, trying to recall if they had in fact worked together before. Nope, she was sure they hadn’t.

“Are you pretty comfortable over here?” She asked him; she tilted her head curiously. Her attention was stolen away from the wolf, however, when she heard Laurens give a short bark to call everyone’s attention. She heard him beginning to call out a hunting party and she began to turn back to Quetzal. She was pretty sure she wasn’t going to be -- Wait! Her ears perked up as she heard Laurens call her name. She was getting to go on the hunt! And from what she heard, her brother was not going with them. Finally, she thought to herself, finally I get to come out and be myself without him bossing me around! She looked at Quetzal, who was also assigned to go on the hunt. She grinned at him, overall excited to be able to join in a hunt.

Her grin disappeared, though, when she heard Laurens assign the wolf in front of her to ‘babysitting duty’. Even though Macaroon wasn’t that much of a pain, she still saw the annoyance of wolves when they were put on the duty to watch the yearlings. She felt bad that Quetzal had to teach Macaroon how to hunt, and her ears and tail drooped slightly to show that. “Sorry you have to babysit..” She said to him quietly. She wasn’t sure how much of a pain babysitting was, but she assumed it probably wasn’t much fun. She forced herself to perk up, though, and spoke again to Quetzal. “It’s okay though! We can have fun!” She said, her tail tapping on the ground in feign happiness.

Nyx grinned at the massive brute again, though this time, it seemed darker, more natural, as she had been putting on a show when the beta was near. Though Nyx was a kind fae, not many wolves knew anything about her, other than that, and she was indeed, twisted. She let a small growl form in her chest as Anubis spoke of the past challenge and his take on the future, her heart skipping a beat when he hardly offered his company to her. She nearly purred once he stopped next to her, and looked up at him, now sitting on her haunches. She raised a brow at his grin, and lost herself in thought. Would she be his? Would she have to fight for him, was she the kind of wolf that did fight for a male's attention? Then Nyx grinned, more devilishly than before, a small thought coming to her, her eyes lit up and she looked as she looked at him, then he spoke of the pack wolves placing their trust in her, it was truly enthralling.

"Oh Anubis, dear, it would be wise for me to accompany you in your pursuit. As the pack wolves trust me more and more with each encounter, isn't it best to have a wolf whom sees both sides, and their counters to your own tactics? Nyx stood, and brushed her head under the brute's chin, and pressed her side into his chest," "I've already come up with a plan of action if you'd like to hear it," Nyx's grin stayed plastered to her face as she sat down once more directly in front of Anubis, watching him, she licked her maw, her piercing honey eyes patient.

As darkness quickly fell upon the horizon, Ayasha laid sprawled out haphazardly in the grass. Her tail tip flickered lazily as her ears swiveled into attention all about, picking up pieces of the usual chatter. As of now she was stationed by a somewhat lonesome female who currently had her sights set on Ayasha. She was absolutely determined to talk Ayasha’s ear off but the ladder was currently paying no mind to the overly excited fae. Although her attention was clearly elsewhere, the subordinate didn't let up until Ayasha rose to begin sitting in front of her. She began to converse with her pack mate out of pure boredom but the yearling still absorbed some of the things she said. The female was clearly very drama driven and was giving Ayasha an ear full of all the juicy rumors going around. Facts about a big scary wolf attacking the camp long ago and the alpha's love life stuck out the most in her conscious but were quickly dismissed as typical happenings in pack life.

The yearling's golden gaze was clearly roaming behind her acquaintance's back to observe the antics of the rest of her pack mates. She grazed over the interaction of her fellow yearling, Macaroon, and Quetzal but she deemed it unworthy of her attention and continued on. A twinge of jealousy arose in the female's chest upon seeing who was a part of the nightly patrol but she quickly stuffed the feeling down. Finally, her focus rested upon the conversation happening between Denahi and Calla. A white eyebrow slowly rose on the yearling's face in a slightly playful manner as she felt her curiosity beginning to take over. Perfect. A sly grin slithered its way onto Ayasha's face as she quickly averted her eyes and looked back at her new found "friend." Might as well use her for the time being.

The ginger colored she wolf felt the familiar itch deep in her soul and rose to her paws. She was restless to say the least and craved some sort of release from the cloud of seriousness that hung heavy on the life of a pack wolf. Ayasha began padding into the direction of the pair, her pace agonizingly slow and her partner in tow. The fellow pack mate continued chatting as the duo walked and Ayasha made the poor soul believe she was actually listening with the occasional "oh really?" or "tell me more". However, she always kept an eye on the two subordinates whilst she made her way over. See, the youngster had already formulated herself a plan and was beginning to take action, using the clueless pack mate as a sort of pawn in her little game. Once she drew near them, the yearling let out an abrupt laugh at something the female said (that wasn't even funny), "accidentally" bumping into Denahi.
"Oh, pardon my recklessness! I mean not to disturb you dear, precious, love birds." Although her tone sounded somewhat demeaning, the mischievous (and spiteful) grin on the youngster's face gave the true meaning behind her simple comment, that her teasing was in all good fun of course.

Denahi flicked his tail listening to Calla. His attention on her for the moment being. Until he felt himself stumble over. The tall and lanky wolf trying to catch his balance. Easily over tooken by his tall legs. Bumping his snout into the ground and bounching back up from it. Shaking his fur out after he caught himself he looked at the culprit. It was Ayasha. Denahi tilted his head and flicked his tail. Intentional or not? Hearing her little remark he chuckled to himself. "Wow. Really? Love birds?" Her tone demeaning, but knowing she meant no harm.. this time. Both wolves similar in personality. Both dont fall in love the way others do. Both seperating themselves from other wolves emotionally. Not ready for the stability that companionship offers maybe? Denahi flicked his ears.

"Oh Ayasha you and your jokes, huh?" The relaxed wolf spoke with a grin. "I saw you earlier, getting your ear talked off i assume?" Denahi asked and raised his brow with a sly smile lying on his face. Denahi couldn't imagine being talked off. Probably walking off and ending up to do his own thing. The male, much more awkward than her though. Denahi tilted his head thinking to himself. Denahi chuckled at his own comment once he realized he was out of his own little thought bubble. He often found himself lost in his own thought and tuning others out. Sometimes not snapping out of it. "Whats your plan? Did the alpha or Shaman directyou to anything soecifc?" He asked both of them. Taking a glance at the beta in probation. Onyx had it a little rough, but should have been around. But probation? Seemed really drastic in a time like this. Drawing his attention on Calla for a moment and then back at Ayasha. Both were pretty attractive in his eyes. But his lack of enotional availability didnt allow him to find himself connected to anyone rather than friends. But he does have close friendships, that he'd hate to lose.

𝙇𝙖𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙨 ✧❱ position: alpha !! statistics: 7 ♂ !! tags&mentions: kiara, albatross, kesera, isorro, folkvar
The response of the company he was in left Laurens breathless with adoration from his pack. He had seen many displays of loyalty but the unquestionable agreement to his request only strengthened his bond with them. Those selected for the hunt agreed in a variety of eagerness and reservation - Thanatos being the latter but Laurens knowing all wolves needed to maintain their skill through repetition. As for his small posse of females, they agreed to embark without hesitation. Albatross, whom knew Dany personally, whispered of departing tonight. Having her come to him so soon had him fluttering. She had never seen him among his pack - would he seem different? Laurens was not one to be nervous but the unsettled pit in his stomach was about as close as he could get to it. He knew he was much more authoritative in front of those he lead whereas Laurens let himself be overlooked with Daenerys instead of pronouncing his presence every moment he got.

Kesera had agreed and Laurens shot her a look of gratitude. As the most prominent fighter out of the trio, she held much responsibility yet he knew she was the best choice. Her steel nerves would keep her from making impulsive decisions and paired with her recognizable fierceness as a warrior was what made her the ideal choice. "You will need to leave tonight. I do not know where she rests - she will avoid the location we usually frequent. Most predators will be slumbering and Hati will cover your movements," having calculated all of this already, Laurens spoke without worry in his voice. He knew the way he projected himself rubbed off on those around him so he wished them confidence and durability. The two omegas were rarely allowed to leave camp so this would stretch their legs but also challenge their stamina. Tonight was also best as Albatross's rebellious streak would keep her from remaining a moment longer. This trait aside and she was far more than an omega, something Laurens was coming to realise and wished to rectify.

Beside Kesera, his greatest friend, Isorro, spoke. He was not sure why but the presence of the male soothed him like no other. Perhaps it was because Laurens knew he never had to doubt Isorro's intentions. The wolf was sincere and his loyalty was absolute. Within his first series of words, Laurens could tell just from the choice of vocabulary that Isorro was supportive. The subtle message provoked Laurens in thrusting his nose against the cheek of the other male. It was rare he was openly affectionate with brutes - due to instinctual rivalry - but Laurens was transparent with his emotions. If he loved another, he would show it. After having given the gesture he let his haunches fold into a neat sit. "Of course. When you arrive at early dawn I will summon Folkvar as well as yourself," he replied to the suggestion of keeping Dany outside the camp until orientated. Without directly having said it, Laurens had clarified to Isorro that the one he heavily trusted was indeed the male.

Locked in such strong connections to each individual wolf, Laurens let his moments pass with the prior three before he heard Kiara talk. So softly spoken and thoughtful, he was inclined to concentrate his attention on her. The statement alone, the agreement from a wolf who didn't even have the best of life under his rule, snapped him from his stupor. Both the females in front of him deserved much more than the rank they had. He would correct this and nurture them into recognised members of the pack, he decided to himself quietly. Before he could look away he noticed how her eyes caught his; a gesture not usually done by an omega. He held her stare, reminded of how an entire soul and life resided within the frail frame of this wolf. "Thank you," he muttered, as if to address all of them but Kiara in particular. Pulling his gaze away he stood to open his jaws and softly take Kiara's muzzle into his own - a gesture of comfort and affection. Laurens repeated the action to both Albatross and Kesera before he sat himself down beside Isorro. "I will await your safe returns. Call if I am needed."

Laurens could merely say that before thoughts occupied his mind. He was rendered speechless at the efforts of them all. Despite the looming presence of Anubis and the God's silence, he felt good things on the breeze. The alpha recalled Folkvar's words: This has nothing to do with where you chose to find a mate but it has everything to do with her being kept such a secret, you sneaking out of camp at all hours, and a disgraced rogue throwing it back in your pack, and mine, you brother's, faces like some cruel taunt. They had stung. And Folkvar had said them knowing that they would sting. The mentioning of him being his brother caused a split in Laurens' heart that ached like no other. They had indeed been brothers and by all means they should still be. Yet Laurens had not called him that in some years and they acted towards each other with awkwardness and unfamiliarity. It wasn't just those words that stood out. Folkvar had sworn to defend Daenerys if anyone challenged her acceptance into the pack.

After all this time, Folkvar identified Laurens as a blood brother and would risk himself for the alpha. And what had he done in return? Nothing. When he supported Folkvar he did it under the justification that it was professional. He frolicked with him out of recognition of their bond yet was ignorant enough to believe the shaman would ever go against him. Folkvar's loyalty was as strong as Isorro's if not stronger and Laurens had refused to acknowledge this for years. Feeling like he had blinded himself, Laurens tried to tear himself away from these thoughts of guilt by shuffling closer to sit with Isorro. He had always believed himself benevolent yet he was careless with his bonds. He needed to look past his childhood bitterness to see the love he had for his brother. The pair certainly had some repairing to do.

Out of no where, the alpha sneezed. This took him out of his head and he turned to see he had sneezed directly on Isorro's leg. "Oops," he said bluntly, stifling a laugh.
