DAENERYS ──x❝i do believe it is time for another adventure.❞

Removing herself from the carcass Daenerys took a few steps away from it, sitting down to lick at her legs which were tinted red from her meal which in hindsight, she may have eaten a bit over zealously. She cast a gaze up to the sky, watching now as Hati came to chase away Skoll with his darkness and cloaked chaos. The day has come to an end and it'd be best if she returned to one of her many decoy dens that she resided in when she knew of tensity in the pack or something unnerved her. The meadow, try as she might, still smelled of she and Laurens in some spots and with the Omen flying around she wasn't sure if a night patrol would be lingering about tonight. With that she rose to her paws, shaking out her pelt she turned to the doe, or what remained of it. "What to do with you.." She spoke to herself quietly, flicking an ear and letting out a breathy sigh. She could drag it around with her, feed on it for the next few days. She'd always been told not to waste a meal, you took a life and you'd better honor it. She'd figure out what to do with it later. It could be safer to move it under the cloak of darkness, though she'd not want to stash it too close to her resting spot.
Deciding that she could use a drink of water Daenerys turned away from the doe and slipped from the thicket in which it had been caught in. Picking her way down to the stream she let out an exasperated sigh lifting her head upwards and towards the night sky that was dotted with lazy clouds. "Vor what am I to do? You and Skoll have given me my ideal, perfect even, mate. Yet I linger here, scared of whats to come." She professed it to the Gods, knowing they'd not reply, not to her. If anything her complaint would cause backlash. She has it good, more than good actually. She had been allowed to linger in the pack's territory that had a steady supply of prey, multiple places for secure dens, she met Laurens here, and she had an opportunity to join his pack alongside him. Yet she lingered. She lowered her head, ears flattened to her skull. She wanted this, she wanted him and she fell in love with him knowing he was a package. A wolf and his pack. Her steps were careless now, knowing full an well that Laurens' pack was in a meeting she could shed some of her apprehension of moving about freely. The soft trickle of the stream filled her ears as she neared, sitting down at the bank of it with her paws just barely in the water.
The playful moment she and Laurens had shared repeated in her mind and she smiled fondly before peering down. The stillness in the water that had been caught on the shallow bank shot back her own reflection. She peered at her own reflection, not in a vain sense but more of a thoughtful way. She wasn't her ancestors, sure their blood and their genes ran in hers but she wasn't them. In her own drive to honor them she became a metaphorical slave to her ancestry. Only wanting to do what they had done and never deter from that path. She claimed that she feared losing her independence but she had lost that long ago when she swore that she'd only ever be a loner to carry on their legacy. Letting out a growl of frustration she slammed her paws into the puddle of collected water, sending it splashing around her frame. She needed to rest, to clear her mind and relax. Bending down she lapped at the water, her pink tongue curling as it touched the cool and slow moving surface of the stream. The crispness and coolness of the water and darkness of the looming night brought peace over her frayed nerves and she took the quiet moment to wade into the water, biting at the crystalline surface playfully. The water helped to further clean her fur and once satisfied that her pelt was back to its former glory, free of mud and the crimson stains from the deer she left the stream, shaking her pelt out and sending droplets of water away from her frame.
Time to drag that carcass to her den, cover it up, and sleep. Hopefully. With her plan set ahead of her she paced forward briskly, her paws churning infront of her and carrying her towards the doe. She shut out her thoughts, letting her mind go blank and at peace. The concept of time had long left her presence and it felt like a matter of moments before she was at the doe again, peering down at it and asking herself how the hell she planned on getting it back to her den. Staring down at the carcass she paced around it in a tight circle. She'd be unable to drag the whole thing back without opening the gash on her shoulder and staining her pelt again, she'd have to settle for a piece of her prize and let the rest go to scavengers. With that she nodded, going to work for several tiresome moments before a whole hind leg, flank and all, hung from her jaws. Tail wagging against her rump she raised her head up, hoping to not let it drag and paced through the forest confidently. Tracing her steps she soon come upon one of the dens she slept in quite frequently, this was a den she had met one of the pack wolves, Albatross, at many times. Setting her future meal down she slipped inside of the den, the inside space was much smaller than the den she shared with Laurens but the closeness brought her a sense of security amidst her lonesome.
Turning around in a tight circle she laid down, inching forward until the tip of her muzzle and paws were just outside of the den, her gaze peering around the ever darkening forest and in perfect view to watch over her meal and the forest. Until she fell asleep she'd be able to watch everything in this section of the forest, which was important- for now. With Anubis being present and Laurens' pack upset she needed any small advantage she could get. It was only now, in the calmness and moment of rest that she felt her heat come upon her. It made sense now, the irrationality of some of her internal conversations and her desire to be closer with Laurens. She knew her heat would be soon, but now of all times? Now was not ideal in any way, shape, or form.
ISORRO ──x❝the true strength of a man is in calmness.❞

Isorro listened intently, his own nerves threatening to be frayed due to the aggression and tensity in which many of the wolves buzzed with. He considered himself a pacifist at times, preferring to try and chase another wolf out or defuse a situation with words rather than teeth, then again he wasn't afraid to rip into someone should they threat those he holds close to him. He listened as Salem spoke, ears perked. The male spoke with truth, sarcastic truth, but facts nonetheless. If Anubis were any form of intelligent he wouldn't have returned, but alas he did. Perhaps peace wasn't the route to take with this male, last time he brandished a beating and getting chased out. Deep down Isorro knew what Anubis wanted, power. He wanted what Laurens had and what he could never get, only those who were weak of intellect would follow Anubis should his plants come to fruition. He shifted nervously as Ophelia spoke, the female was ruthless and cold blood seemed to run in her veins, but she spoke with experience and an outsider knowledge that Isorro simply didn't have. Despite his trust and unyielding loyalty laying elsewhere he was born a pack wolf, always had been. His ears flattened slightly though as she spoke of the Beta.
His attention was pulled elsewhere in the solitary moment of chattering and he felt Kesera lean into him gently. Peering down at her he smiled gently, perhaps he too was her solace? Had her words prior, that the pack's emotions played off his own been words of subconscious experience? He let her lean into him, finding the pressure of her body against his reassuring and comforting, taking a few seconds to rest his head on hers. He let his senses go numb, taking in a breath to soothe his own nerves and let his tranquil presence come over him again. While it had never left, amidst the talking of the pack and desire to hunt down the dangerous loner had his own worries bubbling like a hot stew in a cauldron. Yet her presence was like cold water to a searing flame. His attention once again wavered as Laurens spoke and his head swiveled towards the Alpha and Folkvar. Initally he wanted to continue defending his own point, that it could try and be resolved with peace, but he knew the Alpha and Shaman were right, doing a forest wide chasing of Anubis could result in a fight between Anubis and a packmate. Casting his gaze around the clearing it dawned on him now that they didn't have the numbers to form a solid line to stretch the territory, instead it would be singular wolves clearing a small part of the territory on their own. His idea, in retrospect, would have been ill-executed. Instead he nodded, submitting in his own way, he didn't agree with killing Anubis but if it had to be done.
It wasn't even a matter of seconds after Laurens had then replied to Salem and Thanatos that Onyx had arrived and tried to explain her whereabouts and absence from the meeting. He almost felt bad for Onyx, but she had brought the reaction of Laurens on herself. She seemed to be making a habit of doing what she wanted and going where ever she pleased. He watched silently, the low growl and Laurens' ruffled fur causing his head to lower ever so slightly. Being stoic as he was it was a minuscule movement but one of submission. Isorro was neither a dominate nor submissive wolf but his respect for Laurens and his rank was enough for him to submit when dominance was shown. His ears perked now, listening to the silver pelted brute as he chastised Onyx, ultimately putting her on probation. Isorro had a feeling that had Ophelia not called Onyx out in front of the whole pack the Beta might not have received such an embarrassing and slightly harsh punishment. Perhaps though probation was what Onyx needed, had the long reigning beta began to grow drunk on her own power? Perhaps she needed to be put back for a small while, learn to appreciate her rank once again.
Sensing the formality of the officical meeting was over, Laurens was now going to each cluster of wolves and directing orders. He turned to Kesera with a terse sigh, "How do you feel of all of this?" He queried, curious to learn of her own thoughts of the meeting. From what had been decided to do with Anubis to the probation of Onyx. Though before he could garner a response Laurens neared them with Albatross and Kiara by his side. He offered the trio a smile, he didn't mind Albatross or Kiara, infact he quite liked them. Both come to him to talk from time to time and he seemed to be a confidante of sorts to Kiara, his calmness and tranquility often making it increasingly easy to talk and confide in him. His ears perked as Laurens began to speak and his own ideas of the brute's whereabouts had come to truth. If Laurens loved this female and was sending a patrol out to collect her then he'd support it. Isorro had unquestionable trust and loyalty to Laurens, which meant he also had the same trust and loyalty to the female would soon be Laurens' Alpha counterpart. He listened intently, feeling pride as Kesera replied. He spoke now, not wanting to interrupt anyone. "Just my own suggestion, once you find our Alpha Female if she agrees to come with would it not be safer to station her slightly away from the camp? With tensions so high tonight it might not be the best idea to introduce her to the majority of the pack now. Since she will have already met Kesera, Albatross, and Kiara it might be best to introduce Folkvar and one other wolf you heavily trust first." He suggested quietly, his voice low enough so they could hear but prying ears could not. "Bringing her to meet everyone now might overwhelm her and she might not get the best first impression." He added once more, his wording of 'our Alpha Female' was a clear indication that he supported Laurens' decision. Even if the rank of 'Alpha Female' didn't formally exist he'd treat her in the same regard as Laurens and call her that, his birth-pack had an Alpha Female and it was simply something he was accustomed to.
He sat quiet now, offering an excited wag of his tail. He was happy for Laurens, elated actually. He didn't feel animosity towards the male for keeping her a secret, some in the pack might have sought to challenge him or use her as a weapon against him. Isorro wouldn't have let it happen, but he could see it arising with some of the personalities in the pack that were up and coming. He was sure that this Daenerys character would be a fine female as Laurens' mate, he doubted Laurens would pick a female who wasn't.

Ophelia listened to Laurens and Folkvar speak, Isorro's own suggestion had been outnumbered, Thanatos, Salem, and herself all speaking against it and it seemed that Laurens and Folkvar had agreed. Chasing Anubis away would not be suitable this time. She stiffled a grin as Laurens spoke of either crippling or eradicating the male all together. Her ruthless side desired to cripple him. Make him useless and force him to live in the pack, create a new rank under Omega and force him to feel the wrath of the pack and live the rest of his live under Laurens as his Alpha. Perhaps that was cruel, justified, but cruel. Her ears perked as Salem stepped forward and volunteered to patrol as well, hiding her smile she nodded. He was speaking truth, both of them had worked tirelessly through the night since hearing of the Omen. They were the best adapted now in the pack to work through the night, their sleep schedules getting used to being more active at night and resting in the day. It made her feel uniquely useful, she and Salem filled a much needed niche within the pack. While the rest of the pack slept they patrolled through the night, sometimes side by side and sometimes apart but they seemed to be the only wolves who did so.
Her attention only flicked away from Laurens and Folkvar as Onyx entered camp. She reeked of decay, of Anubis, and her lip rose in a subtle snarl. She had met him. After so long of the male evading their patrols she now somehow managed to find him after he had made his presence known to the pack. How...coincidental. She listened as the female gave her spiel of where she was, turning around after her first statement to give a grin at Ophelia. Instead of reacting Ophelia remained indifferent, choosing to display a show of maturity rather than dip into juvenile ways. She rolled her eyes and scoffed at her last statement, the pack did have something to fear from Anubis. He was a ruthless wolf with a reputation to fix. A wolf with purpose was farm more dangerous than most would think. She let her attention fall once more on the alpha and shaman, who seemed to be listening to her excuses. Ophelia didn't trust Onyx one bit, she got away with too much and seemed to think she was somehow above the rules. She was just a beta, a subordinate with a fancy title. Stifling her grin as the female was put on probation and publicly reprimanded she shot a glance to Onyx, who was crouching and only a few inches away from rubbing her face into the dirt in a sign of submission.
Ophelia felt a sense of victory settle within her chest and her aggression wafted away and in its place a sense of validation settled in her chest. Instantly the feeling was squashed. She was on baby duty. While it was the more tolerable of the babies it was a baby she'd have to worry about nonetheless. Surely this was Laurens' way of reprimanding her for pointing out the Beta's faults. Then again, it could be a display of trust. She nodded, smirking slightly. If she and Salem were alone she could practically hear his groan of not wanting to babysit on a night patrol. Still though as Laurens seemed to want to pull her aside privately she followed obediently, sitting down and within a matter of seconds letting out an almost inaudible whimper, which sounded more like a squeak, of both surprise and sharp pain. It only lasted for a few seconds before it eased and she let her ears fall back, reaching forward to chatter her teeth against his chin. A subtle sign of both understanding and submission. She didn't take his words personally, knowing it wasn't from a malicious place. She could sense his own annoyance at the beta and her carelessness in which she was beginning to display. Her ears perked at his praise and she smiled softly. He was the only wolf who she had allowed to call her by her pet-name. It was with this praise that she realized, he had trusted her with one of the packs puppies, not as a punishment, but because he had faith in her.
"Thank you Laurens, I'll make sure Salem doesn't get too hard on Spectre." She replied with a softer smile, knowing full well that she would likely need to keep an eye on her patrolling partner. Once he left she leaned down, rubbing the underside of her jaw along her legs and getting up to return to Salem's side, snickering softly. "I know what you'd do without me." She joked, a sarcasm filled grin growing on her face, "Patrol alone." she finished sitting down and barking towards Spectre to beckon him towards them. "I think we should leave once everyone fills their belly. Spectre, Salem and I patrol all night long. Usually day patrols switch wolves but at night we don't have a second wave of wolves to relieve us. We're going to push you, okay?" She spoke with a certain gentleness in her tone. Her sarcasm put aside to try and make the youngster feel more at ease. She had a feeling that previously her sarcasm made a negative impression on Spectre when it wasn't the case. She could care less if she had a negative impression on his sibling, Macaroon, but Spectre was growing to be an important part of the pack.
