Onyx snorted at him, seeing his annoyance. "Oh in no way did I mean that in a bad way. But look at you, so handsome." she spoke while looking at him. She flicked her tail and continued to talk. "In no way a sarcastic comment.." she spoke in a relaxed tone. But no way submissive, like Nyx. Onyx held herself high and proud unlike the other female. Onyx wouldn't fight for anyone or anything. If attention wasn't on her, it wasn't on her. Higher standards than that. "Do you really think I can do anything right now? If I wanted to hurt you I'd lure you back to the pack.. But I'm more interested and intrigued this time.." the beta spoke hoping he forgave her for the misinterpretation. Hearing Anubis's words sent an icy chill down her spine. Loner life? Her ears pinned down to her skull as he nipped at her flank and she bared her teeth. Not being as submissive as Nyx. Onyx could hide how she felt about anything when needed. She flicked her tail and thought in a way, it was a possibility. Onyx had been a beta for as long as she could remember. She often wondered about loner life, what could happen and who she'd meet. Maybe freedom would have been a little more fun, then everything relied on her. She snorted to herself and eyes him down. The thought had crossed her mind from time to time, but he was the first to pick up on it. She couldn't bare to leave Laurens, they use to be in love. And she saw him as her best friend now, and she couldn't imagine picking up and going. He helped her back on her feet, gave her a high rank, and everything in between you could name. Laurens did a lot for her, but she couldn't just abandon him. But she was also talking to his biggest enemy? Many things ran through her head right now, giving her a stinging headache.

Onyx could see the interest in both of them, but landing mostly on Nyx. Onyx wanted it all to herself. Attention was one thing she striven for, but particularly his right now. She had so many questions. Onyx heard his words again. She happened to love to come out here, interact with other wolves not of the pack and have her own space. But she knew she was too small to make it on her own long. She was fast, and quick witted. But she could be out challenged in size and hunting. Her fighting skill was decent, but she hadn't fought much of anyone. Just chased wolves out of the territory. Onyx watched them both, jealous but not enough to step in between it. Looking up to the sky, she noticed the sun was slowly going down. Knowing she had to be back in the den before dark
"I won't lie, I've felt many feeling of loners. It's always nice to be around them. Hear their stories. It's why I happen to come here. I stumbled upon both of you." she looked back to them both and flicked her tail. Onyx found herself lost in thought, staring at them but not paying attention for a few seconds. Lost in thought from what he said about loner life. Flicking her ears after she realized she was off in the zone. Noticing they were too involved in each other, onyx trotted off. Figuring it was a good time to get back home. Maybe ask questions later. Most likely he won't be gone the next few days.

Thanatos was quite startled when Zuri leapt down next to him, he was never really one for affection. He could feel their tails gently running into each other and the fur on their sides brushing ever so slightly. He leaned on her ever so slightly, and waiting for her to either, lean against him too, scoot away from him. Mentally, he was smiling, on the outside, he was intently listening to the pack wolves whispers, and Folkvar and Laurens speaking. Then Issoro spoke, Thanatos' eyes flicked over to the male and he smiled. "I have to agree,"Thanatos' deep voice rang in the air, "I nearly match his size alone, but with the whole pack on his tail..." He let his voice trail off, his gaze serious now, he new his elders would get the hint he was making.

Letting his mind drift now, he though about what would happen if Anubis ever stepped one paw into the camp. He for sure was taller, that Thanatos knew. But Thanatos was fairly sure he weighed more, and was more built, and bulky, but that might have to do with his younger age. He huffed at the thought, he changed his mental subject of thought back Zuri, she was so small compared to him and yet much more feisty, and passionate. It'd be a shame if someone like anubis swooped in an-" Thanatos' chest rumbled a small growl to himself. Why was he thinking this kind of stuff, she can do what she wants, she isn't his, though he does like the thought of that. She's the only one that can get any sort of reaction from him. He shook out his pelt patiently, while the pack mingled, trying to figure out what to do.

Nyx listened to the two wolves banter back and forth, she was getting quite annoyed with it but kept her mouth shut. Clearly the two wolves had a history. Nyx wanted to be rude, strictly on instinct to receive all of the brutes attention. She thought to herself about telling Onyx's beloved alpha where his beta was during a seemingly, very important, pack meeting. But that just wasn't her, was it? Once Anubis stepped closer, still taunting the beta, Nyx's anger soothed, their fur was barely touching. To be honest, she wanted to rub against him so she would be stained with his scent, but she didn't. As of right now, if what the two wolves in front of her, was true, then Nyx definitely had gotten herself into something. Something that was much bigger than her.

Listening to Onyx, and enjoying the closeness of the brute while she could, Nyx's mind drifted off. Was he really what she had been warned about? What was the problem with over-throwing an alpha? Sure it would most likely be a blood bath, and pack members could potentially die, but that's life. Nyx's calm expression turned to a scowl as soon as Onxy said "but look at you, so handsome. While she knew she was getting most of the attention, it wasn't going to last long. With that thought, Nyx's blood started to boil and her primal instincts told her to destroy the cause of her anger. But she didn't, she had much more self control than that. Plus, up until this moment, Nyx really did like Onyx, she was a sweet fae from what she could tell, deep down at least. Though very headstrong, and clearly thought she was above everyone else in her pack, Nyx wanted to tell her to scram back to her pack, and let the loners be loners, but she didn't. Maybe being rude and arrogant would suit her another day.

Calla had been wondering close to camp all morning and early afternoon. She was quite pleased when she heard the howl that required her attendance. She had been getting bored, he thoughts had been wandering. Deeper than what she usually allowed. Back to Davyn. She snarled to herself, for letting her thought go back to reminiscing and then fading into the tunnel of hurt. She pranced back towards camp, when she saw nearly the entire pack gathering, all but Onyx, though she didn't mind. Then her eyes wandered to Davyn, where she caught his first sentence directed at the pup, "good morning sweet girl, did you hav-" that's where Calla rolled her eyes and looked around for someone else. She had a mighty big crush on the red wolf, though he was small, but his playful banter directed at every other female made her lips curl back in a snarl.

Shaking out her fur before making her entrance, Calla padded into camp, her eyes had left the site of Davyn, and landed on Denahi. Calla smiled and trotted over,
morning handsome, nice of you to join us."She giggled, hoping to catch Davyn's attention, but keeping her voice down so she didn't disturb others around her. Once Folkvar barked, Calla quieted down and sat up straight, she wrapped her tail around her paws, ears ahead. All of her attention was on her elder's, respectfully.

DAVYN
Male | Five | Subordinate | Closed? | Thanatos, Macaroon, Calla

Tensions were high, the air thick with anticipation. Except that it wasn't literally thick, Davyn knew that. That was just how it would be perceived by those of a lesser intelligence. No, it was all how the subconscious brain processed what it was taking in, and how it related that information to the conscious brain and body in order to prepare for action. It may have felt a little suffocating, but in reality it was just what the eye was taking in. His amber eyes noted tense muscles, wolves standing a little higher or lower than they usually would. Some, like Folkvar, speaking more than he normally would. And others speaking less. Movement of ears, shifting of eyes, hesitations and held breaths. Something was up between Laurens and the shamen. Folkvar's signals were borderline disappointed, to add on top of the many other things he was feeling at the time. This, the red wolf knew, would not be noticed only by him. But likely he would be one of a very few that understood why they felt like that. His brain simply moved faster, bringing it all in and sorting it at stupidly fast rates. The understanding of why he was feeling something sometimes even hit him before the feeling itself did. He turned away from them, though, doing his best to respect that what was being said between them was not for him to know right now. Just because he could let his brain pry away at what was being said between them didn't mean that he should. Watching the movements of their mouths would have been simple enough, but he refrained himself.

The young she-wolf as well, returning his comment with civility but clearly not because she wanted to. Or, clearly to him, though he wasn't alone in his understanding of such things. Right? He hoped not. Tension in her face, in her maw to force herself to do what she wished not to do. Hard careful stare instead of an easy one. The eyes moved very subtly side to side in rapid succession, barely any distance at all. Except when either stalking prey or that second where you were trying to make yourself look at someone. But, as well as this, he could tell that she wasn't necessarily upset with him, because of how she reacted to the situation as a whole. His attempt to relieve her of some of the stress had failed, but only because of the overall embarrassment of the moment. He'd have to talk to her later, perhaps.

Then again, he was rather biased about that sort of stuff. She could loath him and he'd be blind to it, because he believed it impossible for her to. Him? Loathed? Not by a pack member, not as useful as he was or as good of a confidence boost. That's all, she just needed a confidence boost. It seemed like a lot of them could use one right now...

His attention shifted to Thanatos as he sat near by, and Davyn smiled warmly. A puzzle indeed this one. He wasn't as easy to read as the others, which was surprising due to his lower intelligence. More akin to the white omega in brain power, but everything about the big white bearish she-wolf was so loud that Davyn had no need to think at all to figure out what she was feeling. But Thanatos was different. Why Davyn could read several things about him, like his back and forth regard for Zuri and when he was feeling unafraid, there was something so far away about him. He often found the much larger male sitting by himself looking off, muscles tense but gaze steady and soft. A memory, perhaps, or musings. But over what? Thanatos was just so shut down, and that worried Davyn. Was he okay? Though he didn't usually direct his attention toward the males of the pack, devoting most of his time to the females, he made an exception for the younger male. Continuously working at him, trying to get in. And yet a little afraid of what he might find.

And yet, he must.

Right now, though, Thanatos was displaying more of his usual feelings. The not-so-sure with Zuri, shoulders tensing up and sometimes his whole body, but mostly relaxed and sometimes even leaning unconsciously in her direction. He liked having her around at least. Maybe more than he knew himself. Or maybe not, since this time he actually joined her in a small show of affection. But he was also one of those that weren't too worried about Folkvar's news. There had been no surprise when the shamen spoke them, a clear sign that Thanatos was either there with Folkvar, or that he had independently seen the rogue that morning. The red wolf smiled broadly and came in closer to him, so that he would not have to speak loud to be heard by him. His thought was answered by Thanatos himself, when the brute spoke to Issoro.

The only way a younger wolf like himself would know how big Anubis was would be if he had seen him. Not that Davyn needed more proof. He had enough to be confident in his assumption already. "You have seen him then? Tell me friend, what did you think of him? How did he seem? His voice was low, but held a little of the command that one of a higher intelligence often did. It had little to do with an actual feeling of superiority, though. Davyn may have a superior mind, but that did not make him superior to Thanatos or anyone else. He had his strengths and they had theirs. All were important. But a searching mind demanded answers.

A mind that went blank at naught but a sound. A simple sound, a common noise. How a simple laugh could take his high functioning brain and reduce it to little more than a useless mass occupying space in his skull. He turned his gaze quickly to follow the sound, his body leaning toward it to get even the tiniest bit closer. How quickly he had lost control of mind and body, how quickly it was traded in for something almost feral. Amber orbs searched for a heavenly blue, longing to meet them again, even as he fought with himself for control of his mind. How easy it was to control every move he made, to stand neutral at all times unless he chose to show otherwise, because of how quickly he functioned. But no, not now. Not when her dulcet tones tickled his ears or her slender frame stepped into view. Facade adorned with a firey red down to a rich cream. Much like she could be in personality. He could not choose his stance now, any more than he could rip his mind back into focus. When they were together he hadn't minded. The slow shift from seeing her as but a friend to the first few times in his life that his thoughts betrayed him for the fog had been downright terrifying. But in time he learned to just let it go, and to be surprised by both her actions and his emotions. He couldn't read her anymore, even less so than Thanatos. But that had been okay. It was okay when his feelings for the vixen reached him long before thoughts did, because he could just indulge her with them, and enjoy it all the same.

It was not nearly so pleasant now, when the feeling that overtook him was envy and something akin to sorrow. He had failed. Failed. Somehow he had failed. Right about everything, and yet he hadn't seen it coming. Been too blinded to see it coming. And now he was almost daily paying for it. What had happened? Was he not enough for Calla? His tireless attentions to her, showering her with affection and admiration. How well they worked, from the first time he relized how similar they were, how wonderfully intelligent she was. How she spoke, in all kindness, and how well she knew her own worth. She was a goddess and she knew it. And he loved that. Loved it all. Though he knew she was never his, Davyn thought he had at least been close. So close to making her so. But no. He had been wrong. And she was very quick to show him how wrong he had been. So quick to search for another. It drove him mad.

Handsome. His lips were curled back away from his teeth, still ever fighting for control, to conquer the fog and a newly forming hatred for a fellow pack member who had never done him wrong. Was your gift not given to you by the goddess herself? Humbling, but also powerful. If he could not rely on his own strength, he could call on hers. With a long drawn out and even somewhat of growly sigh to start, Davyn was able to pull his head away and back to Thanatos and the higher ups. The fog had cleared. And, though it felt like a century since Davyn heard Calla's sweet voice, it had only been a few seconds.

Even in a fog his mind was like a racehorse.

Zuri felt Thantos push his body into hers slightly back, and she looked up at him. Thantos lost in the pack members words. So much was going on, it was hard for her to keep up. She leaned her body into his as well, and sat down in the process. Listening to everyone else along with him. Her head tilted as she took it all in, little to say on the matter. Hearing Isorro, and then Thantos speak about Anubis. Just the thought of him being chased off, or fought was kind of scary. It was a chance anybody could get hurt, including Thantos. She pinned her ears back slightly and whipped her tail around. Not liking the thought of him fighting another wolf like Anubis. Thantos would most likely manage, but she had a soft spot for him. While she cared deeply abut everyone's well being she wanted him to stay safe. That rouge was no good, and could hurt anyone even Thantos. Even if Thantos won, and the pack won in general the rouge could still leave his mark.

So much drama had happen that the sun was slowly setting. She gazed up at the sky.
"What a long day, huh?" She put her head on his back for a second. Drifting in thought and let out a soft sigh. When suddenly at the same time Thantos let out a growl. She jumped back startled, had she caused it? Pinning her ears back and then inching her way closer. "Sorry if I got too close." she spoke in a soft tone. Aware that most wolves had boundaries. Zuri heard a voice speak to Thantos, and she turned her head. The voice was Davyn. She watched the male and took in his curious words. Anybody would be curious about what happened, it was a crazy day. With already so much going on with the omen. Her mind drifted for a second, still thinking Anubis could very well be the omen they were warned about.

"We were out gathering when he showed up. He's a big ebony wolf. Almost like Thantos, but so much more cruel and uglier." she snorted to herself in disgust thinking about him. "Thantos stepped in, as well as Albatross and Folkvar arrived. I was gathering herbs, and ran into him." Zuri spoke in a gentle tone, as she always did. She had no issues with Davyn, he was pretty nice to her. And such a intelligent wolf. Surely he knew the importance of the herbs she gathered and risked her life for. "He's taller than Thantos, and covered in scars from previous battles I assume." she spoke of the rouge, the words almost hissing out of her mouth thinking of him. "so much more malicious, and cruel. I wouldn't compare Thantos and Anubis together.. At least Thantos has a heart." she spoke standing close to him, but not as close as before. Slowly inching herself back over though, assuming the growl that escaped him wasn't aimed for her. Zuri's tail wagged slightly, happy Thantos and Albatross were there. Though they appeared angered at her, they were only protecting her.

Denahi stretched his long legs out, on night shift and just now waking up. Denahi wasn't built for fighting or hunting big prey. But his long legs and height made his endurance and stamina work for him. He was one of the tallest wolves in camp, but one of the lankiest as well. Which sucked, not serving much of a huge purpose to the pack. Especially now from the sounds of it. It being dusk from what he could tell, but still unsure from his long sleep. Arising to the wake of a howl, assuming it had to be some sort of news. Yawning, his teeth showing as he did so. He heard Calla speak. I guess just rising was considered morning. Denahi looked over at her, his eyes showing true exhaustion. His dirty brown, and grey pelt shook out getting the reminding leaves out of it. His fur colored looked like a stain almost, hating it. Denahi heard her little comment, about being handsome. He grinned, his one canine poking out of his mouth. As it did so every time he smiled, something he wasn't too fond of as well. He knew her interests laid in Davyn, but of course he'd go along with it.

"Right, right. Nice of me to finally wake up and join everyone huh cutie?" he snickered and brushed his tail under her chin as he walked in front of he to get a good look at what was going on. The tired male looked around at the gathered wolves. Everyone seemed distressed and bothered. He pinned his ears back and looked at her. "Guess I slept in for longer than I thought.." listening to the wolves speak of a new threat he huffed to himself. Not looking forward to this one bit. He looked over at Zuri, Thantos, and Davyn. Hearing them in the distance speak of the new found threat. Denahi wasn't around when Anubis tried to over take the pack once before. Only hearing rumors, and I guess he was back for round two. His tired eyes wandered back to Cala. "So what have you been up too? Were you patrolling when this happened? Were you around the last time he made his way here? I've heard the rumors, but didn't think he'd be dumb enough to come back. The pack has clearly grown in size." his eyes felt heavy, as if he could sleep longer. But that was just the normal for him. Always so tired, and lacking energy. The reason he wasn't the beta, though he aspired to be. Speaking of beta, Onyx was nowhere to be found.

      ANUBIS !!
      ▸ male ▸ 6½ ▸ loner ▸ tag: nyx, onyx
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

"Do you really think I can do anything right now? If I wanted to hurt you I'd lure you back to the pack.. But I'm more interested and intrigued this time.." Anubis snorted, ‘You could try, but I very seriously doubt you would succeed.’ He thought to himself, giving a hard roll of his eyes towards her. Intrigued? Why of all things would she be intrigued? Anubis assumed it was part of a scheme. “Look at you, so handsome,” Audits fell backward onto his skull, he narrowed his eyes and focused his attention onto the darker vixen. Suddenly he was questioning himself, and his desires. He was having a difficult time choosing between both of these vixens, especially since neither seemed to want to share him. It would be difficult indeed to claim both if neither of them wanted each other around. It was quite obvious to him that both wanted his attention, maybe Nyx more so than Onyx, for the two seemed to get along quite well before he even showed up. He was confident that no matter whom he chose they would be a decent aid to his plans. But the problem was - who to choose? Anubis would admit, he was attracted to both of them, Onyx - for her fiery personality and Nyx - mostly for her beautiful coat that of which he had never seen on a wolf before. Some beautiful, strong offspring could come from the pair.

Anubis mentally growled at himself for allowing this meeting to come to this. It was beginning to come to the point where Anubis thought he better leave both of them for a while and let this tension rest - but, what kind of a wolf would Anubis be if he did that? "I won't lie, I've felt many feeling of loners. It's always nice to be around them. Hear their stories. It's why I happen to come here. I stumbled upon both of you." The inner voice of Anubis stopped and outer world voice of Onyx made him snap his direction towards her - ears pushed back in a rather annoyed fashion. So she’s felt the attraction of many loners before? Does that mean she was a- no, Anubis, don’t say that. Hold your tongue for a little while longer. Or did she mean just… feeling sympathy? Either way, Anubis was positive that his suspicion was correct, no matter how many ways Onyx tried to decorate it and put it on a platter it was still the same ole’ recipe. Pack wolf yearning for the outside life, trapped in a rank and woe is me. Yada yada yada.

Yet, just as Anubis was about to open his maw and speak, Onyx left. Without another word. ‘Damn it,’ thought the brute, shifting his weight from one set of paws to the other. Although, he was not alone. Nyx was still here, and she had no pack to get back too. So for now, she was all Anubis’, which he figured he could get to know her just a bit more before they had to part… if they parted at all. Anubis then rolled his shoulders, turning his attention back to Nyx, and this time it would be devoted. “So, it’s just us now, you said your name was Nyx,” he let a sly grin pull at the corners of his ugly maw yet again. “But you remind me of the Goddess Naja herself,” he would wink, chuckling to himself and awaiting her response.

ALBATROSS
Female | Four | Omega | Open? | Zuri, Kiara

Ooc: This one will be shorter, I promise....

There she went again, leaving Albatross confused. Her words seemed to say different than the vibes she was sending off. She wasn't sure what to do. Maybe there was nothing she could do. Zuri was stubborn, which was something Albatross could well understand. She wasn't an omega for no reason. And it sure wasn't from a lack of ability. No, Albatross had the ever annoying habit of not listening unless she agreed with what was being said. How many hunts had been ruined because she wouldn't go in the direction the hunting party had told her to go? A few times in this pack, but countless in all the others she had been in. If it didn't make sense to her or she disagreed, she refused to do it. Albatross went where she wanted to go, did what she wanted to do, despite what anyone else thought about it. It took a strong sensible and very patient leader to convince her that what they wanted was right. None seemed to do this well, save now for Laurens and Folkvar. Even still, she disobeyed them at times too. Less the shamen, for her admittedly misplaced fear of him and his close connection with dieties that seemed to her set on wiping her from this plane of existence. From the moment she was born, it seemed they were against her. And she defied them as well. But still, she could well see their power all around her, feel it in the mountains, growing in the trees. The treacherous waves in a storm, the endlessness of the water as it stretched on and on... such power, and Folkvar had conversations with them. Or, that is what she imagined. She felt like any moment they'd be discussing how to try to erase her again. Famine this time? War?

Actually, war might make sense right now. They tried everything else, right? She shook the thought away, focusing on the small white fae. "Do you really think your pack would not choose to keep you over a flower?" She began, completely forgetting about the short moment in which she felt she could understand the stubbornness. I dare say your life is worth more than some vegetation, if in fact he did attack you." Had she the insight, Albatross might have considered that perhaps Zuri did not view herself as being worth much. And in some way she likely did consider that. But it was too complex a subject to hold on to in a time like this. They still awaited the news, still awaited what was to happen next.

Kiara called her attention again, a reprieve from Zuri. Tomorrow. Tomorrow she could see the smaller female the same as she had before. Just hold on until tomorrow. "Yes, I believe Zuri mentioned that too. It sounded like he was back to try again?" Was that it? It had happened long enough ago that her memory of it was a little foggy. She had good memory in general, especially for things she would have much rather forgotten. But with so much going on it was hard for her to keep up. The large white she-wolf stood and stretched out her long limber body, trying to buy time for her to think. It was something the plant gatherer had said, she was pretty sure. Or perhaps something that Anubis himself had implied. Yes, that was it. Or that stood out more than the rest now. "He seemed to insinuate that he would be a better leader to Zuri, and I assume the whole pack. I doubt most of them would follow him though, especially her."

Ooc: okay it actually fizzles into something sort of funny. Sorry guys, I was trying to not send another wall of text DX. Her next post will be better :(

DAENERYS ──xi do believe it is time for another adventure.❞
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
❰ loner ❱ ❰ female ❱ ❰ 6½ ❱ ❰ status: nearly in heat. ❱ ❰ crush: Laurens ❱ ❰ tags: open ❱ ❰ mentions: - ❱
Daenerys laid crouched among the dense vegetation that spring had allowed to sprout up in the forest in numerous, incredibly thick patches. Many wolves any larger than herself would likely get tangled in them and cause too much noise and ruckus to use them as viable coverage when hunting. Yet here, her small frame was now an aide to further her purpose of being here. To hunt. To sate one of her hungers. She shuffled forwards excruciatingly slowly, her movements resulting in less than an inch of ground coverage. The cream pelted female was barely noticeable in the foliage, her body held low and legs bent to assume a crouch position, she was a streamlined hunter. Her physique clearly not built for a battle but rather endurance, agility, speed, and stamina. The key skills that any successful lone hunter should possess, which she did and over her many years of life had honed to best suit the niche she found in her world, a lethally accurate huntress. The snap of a twig caused her gaze to sharpen and ears perked forwards as the fawn-brown pelt of a small doe came into sight.

The very image made her mouth water and she desire nothing more than to launch herself at the doe, but she restrained. Essentially tasting the air around her she could already smell the tell-tale iron scent that blood smelled like. This doe was wounded, and therefore weak. Dany inched forward quietly, her body twisting and contorting around thick stalks of various plants in an attempt to remain virtually silent, undetected, invisible. Her ears slicked back to her skull as she hunkered down, muscles tensing as she waited to launch her attack. The doe was grazing mindlessly, ignorant to the danger that was creeping up upon it. It was as if Vor herself had touched this hunt, it was almost perfect. Almost. Daenerys only faltered when she thought of how much of this meal would likely go to waste, albeit it was a smaller doe she knew she couldn't possible consume all of it on her own. Perhaps Laurens will pay a visit tomorrow and then he could take his fill. The thought crossed her mind and her lips pulled at a soft smile. As the deer moved one of her ears flicked forward and within a matter of seconds she burst from the foliage with a loud growl ripping though her throat, her ivory canines bared in a snarl as she lunged forward. She had severely mis-judged the doe's strength and such a deadly miscalculation resulted in receiving a swift hoof to the shoulder which forced a yelp from Dany, only spurring on her adrenaline.

The gash that formed on her shoulder from the deer's sharp kick made her eyes sting but Dany spurred on wards, hunger and rage filling her mind. Her paws flung out from behind her petite frame as she trailed the doe, whom was now slowing due to her previous wound. She took her chance now, running along she the deer and snapping at it. Swerving in front of the animal she leapt upwards, wrapping her jaws around the doe's neck and twisting her body out of the way. The doe crumpled, her wounds and Dany's bite ultimately defeating her. It was a swift and painless end, which Dany prided herself in. Removing her mouth from the doe she licked at its fur before sitting down and breaking into a pant, her sides heaving and lungs straining to catch up to the sudden burst of activity. Her tongue lolled outside of her muzzle for quite some time before she turned, licking at the gash in her shoulder which consequently turned the surrounding cream colored fur bright crimson red.

After a while of catching her breath Dany circle her prize, her tail arched over her rump in a lazy yet excited wag. Pacing towards the belly of the doe she stood with her paws on the animal, making sure it didn't move away from her in the slightest as she gorged herself on it. It was exceedingly rare that Dany had a fresh meal of big game, she found it to be fattier and over-all better tasting than rabbits sometimes. Then again, perhaps she had rabbits and other small rodents so often that their charm had worn off. She has now nearly her whole head deep in the doe, her face crimson as she fed happily, not a care in the world of what was to come and what she was soon to endure.

❰ sub ❱ ❰ female ❱ ❰ 4 ❱ ❰ status: not in season ❱ ❰ crush: salem ❱ ❰ tags: salem, the pack ❱ ❰ mentions: Onyx ❱
Ophelia sat quietly, while being outspoken in some cases this was one specific situation that she didn't desire to speak her mind on. Purely because it was centered around one emotion, bloodlust. Since Ophelia had joined the pack she was close to Laurens, and the fact that Anubis dared threaten one of her closest allies and the pack made her blood boil with an unholy rage that none of the Gods could match. If she were allowed to, she'd kill Anubis or die trying. Still though- she had come to understand there was more strength in a pack than in one wolf. Her inner emotions of pure, untainted rage were well hidden by a mask of indifference. A face that no one, no matter how close and dear to her heart would be able to peek behind and see her raw emotions, it was a useful defense skill she had learned in her younger years. Seeming unaffected and uncaring didn't allow others to pry into your head and emotions to use them against you. Her ears perked however as Salem spoke and it would seem once again that the female had come back into the conscious world. "Isorro, as pacifistic as your suggestion is, Salem's words hold truth. Rogues like Anubis don't stop, he will keep coming back for vengeance. He was humiliated and embarrassed the last time he came here, he comes to take back his pride and more. I speak from sheer experience." She piped in, her ears perked forwards in growing interest with the conversation and where it was headed.

"Laurens and Folkvar. If you two wish to just patrol for now I'd like to volunteer for the night patrols." She added in, her gaze slicing through the gathering of wolves to let her hardened amber gaze settle on the two. "I must also ask, where is your Beta? She seems suspiciously absent during the return of Anubis, and Folkvar's howl could be heard across all of the territory and then some." She finished, flicking her ears irritably. That wolf was too irresponsible and weak-willed to be the beta of this pack and Ophelia's gut had been whispering that something was up with that female. She stepped backwards, a clear indication that she had spoken her thoughts and didn't plan on furthering her points. She now turned as the cold nose of Salem greeted her cheek along with his own little utterance and she rolled her eyes playfully, one side of her muzzle pulling into a side-smirk. "I don't know, what would you do?" She retorted as he stepped backwards, she stood still, her tail flicking to an fro and an almost annoyed manner. She wanted that mongrel out of this territory so she could be moody in peace.

Now her mind had began racing a mile a second, had she chosen her words wisely? Would questioning the current beta set her back in her progress with the pack. Surely not, she was merely making an example of the incompetency and disregard that female was showing towards the pack- a pack of wolves who trusted her to help lead under the Shaman and Alpha. Ophelia didn't see Onyx as her beta, in fact she often disregarded the female and ignored her when possible Only being friendly when forced to by Laurens or Folkvar. Now she let her hard gaze turned callous settle on the entrance to their camp, awaiting the dark pelted female to return from whatever escapade she had been on, something that was more important than the pack. She could feel aggression roll from her pelt in waves, to be blunt, Ophelia thought if the pack would allow her to she'd challenge Onyx for that rank. Ophelia was intelligent, cunning, and damn protective of these wolves even if she didn't always display such a protective nature. Deep down she felt better suited, but she was all too aware of the distaste many wolves had for her cold and sarcastic nature. They'd likely not fall under her and listen to her, instead likely go the extra mile to do anything but.

Onyx left before the rouges could say anything. If her questions were really meant to be, she'd meet up with him again. Onyx trotted back to camp, forgetting all about Folkvar's howl. But in a way, she can do what she wants. Laurens let her get away with anything. Onyx wondered about the male, curious on what his intentions were this time. Onyx was the only one who could get away with things in the pack, that other member's would be disciplined for. At times she found her self forgetting her duties. Onyx entered the territory, squeezing past trees and fallen debris on the forest floor. Until she made it back to the pack grounds, flicking her ears and watching everyone react nervously and in fear. She listened to Ophelia, Issoro and Salem speak. About Anubis she assumed. The female looked around for Laurens or Folkvar.

Onyx furrowed a brow and sat down behind everyone. Listening and watching, what she did best. Taking in everyone's concerns, opinions and options. Chasing him out again was one, last time she did that it didn't go over too well. He still ended up back here. And killing him, not showing her concern for killing the rouge she had finally met once more. But inside, it bothered her in a way. She longed to see why he felt such ways, what he as doing back, and was his plan to try to overthrow Laurens again? Onyx thought over everything, lost in her mind and not paying attention to the other wolves anymore. The beta sat and wondered many things, and what would become of such a filthy, yet charming rouge.

"Laurens, Folkvar." she spoke quietly and whipped her tail around seeing the annoyance in Ophelia and she grinned, caring less. "I assume that howl was because Anubis's return correct? unfortunately I had a run in with him. Sorry I took so long, I was prodding him to see what he came back for, but his attention was elsewhere." Onyx spoke and lashed her tail around. "I do think his plans are malicious, as last time. But there are more of us, and less of him. We can easily out power, and out run him if he decides to attack. Though i'd advise the pack to not go after him alone. He isn't one to be messed with, regardless if you think you're strong enough." Onyx spoke and looked at Laurens and Folkvar "There is also another rouge lurking around here, she sees less of a threat but still keep your eyes out. Don't let your guard down, any of them could be plotting with Anubis, it is not wise to trust any rouge now." She spoke, not having much authority as the two, but also knew what she was talking about. Surely they'd agree, no loner should be trusted until proven not a threat to the pack. She looked over at Laurens and smiled. "I'm sure you have nothing to worry about, he may seem like a threat but you have so many people behind you. He has none."

Salem could see Ophelia's rage burning up inside, almost to the boiling point. Though Salem could careless about the pack, especially Laurens he wanted nothing ill to come to Ophelia. From what Salem can hear, this brute was no joke. He was intently listening to her. Ophelia was correct, last time he came here they did run him out. But he did some damage to the pack, and Laurens. Surely he could do it again. Salem watched her bitterness unravel. "I as well, will go with Ophelia to patrol later in the nights. We both have been on night duty with this omen, and I think we just found out what it is." he spoke in a cold icy tone, he hated volunteering for anyone in the pack or helping them. But figured helping Ophelia and keeping her company would be a nice change of pace. "Plus, none of us should patrol anymore I suppose." the omega spoke as if he had power. He hoped that they'd grant permission for them to patrol together.

Salem heard her spoke about the beta, which she was quite true. Onyx was nowhere to be found. And this was a time a beta should be supporting the pack. But she did get away with a lot. The female had the will and confidence to do what she wanted. Salem wondered where she'd been off too. Most wolves come immediately after hearing a howl so loud and demanding. Salem grinned at her remark and shook his head. "probably not much." he looked at her with his golden eyes when he was a shadow approach. It was Onyx, finally. She spoke her ideas, and plans. That chasing him, or fighting him regardless how many times they tried they'd win. And that Laurens had nothing to worry about with such a big following. Which in a way was true, last minute thoughts though.

Thanatos never felt Zuri put her head on him before he growled lowly to himself at his thoughts. When the fae jumped back, startled, he nearly whined. Thanatos lowered his head and nudged her, "No no, I'm sorry, I was lost in thought about the situation. Come here." The big brute pushed his nose into her scruff, not something he would normally do, but he really felt sorry. He hadn't meant to scare her. His ears twitched and brought him back to the more problematic reality when Davyn spoke to him, "You have seen him then? Tell me friend, what did you think of him? How did he seem?" Thanatos huffed when Zuri then answered the wolf, "We were out gathering when he showed up. He's a big ebony wolf. Almost like Thantos, but so much more cruel and uglier, Thanatos stepped in, as well as Albatross and Folkvar arrived. I was gathering herbs, and ran into him. He's taller than Thanatos..." He rolled his eyes and quit listening. While he had only seen the rouge once now, confirming rumors left and right, Thanatos already had the competitiveness breaking through. He wanted to find the rouge again, size him up, brawl. He didn't care if he got hurt, he just wanted to do it. He knew he'd be able to stand his ground, both males could. But Thanatos was young, and naive, and wanted to fight. "Yes Davyn, everything Zuri says is true, and while he is taller than me, I beat him in mass. I'm a bit more stocky than he." Of course Thanatos would know this from their run in that only lasted a few moments, he was a male, he needed to compare himself to his competition. Especially where Zuri is involved, and if just so happened that she had been that time.

Thanatos' ears twitch at the sound of an omega, he looked over Zuri to where the taller fae stood, his lips curled back in a slight, but serious snarl,
"enough Albatross, I think we've both tore into her enough." While the omega did get on his nerves, he did enjoy that she was just as protective of her pack, but there wasn't any point to continuing her pursuit to make sure Zuri knows not to do things like that, as she does them regardless, and there will be another time to tell her.

Nyx happily watched as the Beta left, its about time, was all she could think before Anubis gave her his full attention. She decided now was her chance, to further persuade him. “But you remind me of the Goddess Naja herself,” Nyx gave him a smile, thankful that Anubis probably couldn't see her blushing. "The Goddess of Peace and Fertility, so close yet so far." Her eyes sparkled and she looked at him, "my mother named me after different God's, Nyx, the Greek Goddess of Night. Mother to death, doom, and fates, while also producing the creatures of the underworld." She smiled, realizing how dark she really was, maybe it was more appealing to the brute in front of her. "While other's say you are the spawn of Fenrir, I also think I see a little Ragnarok." She glanced over his scar riddled body, "but indeed handsome none the less, and strong," she stood and began circling the massive male, eyeing him over, "I appreciate your malicious tendencies, while the others will not." She flicked her tail, aggravated at the thought of him being chased or killed that returned to her brain, "I do think that it would be nice to have a change of pace around here, a new alpha. I'm no pack wolf, but I've seen them, I've talked to them, a lot of them trust me," Nyx stopped walking and froze, the last little bit of sunlight behind her, outlining her longer, slender legs. She wanted to just tell Anubis she could be an asset to him, but she decided her subtle hints would be enough for now and he could decide on his own. Her pale honey eyes were gleaming with her own malicious thoughts as they peered in the his persimmon ones. She sat in front of him, a slight smirk on her face, she had indeed fooled the beta into thinking she was weak, into thinking that she was submissive, but little did she know. Though she submit to the brute, because she actually wanted to. She needed to if he was the most harmful thing out here. In hopes he took a liking to her, she would most likely, go unharmed. Patiently licking her maw, and stealing glances at Anubis' eyes, and then shoulders, and the scars all over, Nyx waited for his response.

Calla smiled when Denahi ran his tail under her chin, she gently grabbed it in her mouth and gave it a playful tug. Giggling again she added, "you did indeed sleep for quite sometime, must be worn out from all of long patrols. Calla followed behind the brute, and took her seat next to him as he asked her questions. She smiled, her eyes showed her rather happy emotions that she was able to actually have a conversation with him. "I've been out and about, running patrols in the denser areas of the forest," She whined just thinking about how dirty her coat got every time. "One of the few that can go along the entire boarder and actually fit."This time Calla gave a soft laugh. She really enjoyed his company, "when he first showed his face here, I was just a pup. I remember the fire in his eyes, the desire for power. A cold shiver ran down her spine and she moved closer to Denahi, "But if one thing is for sure, its that he is surely dumb for coming back here. We have grown in numbers, though most of us hardly know him outside of the stories we've been told. I'm sure whatever he is doing here, won't stop, until he's dead. She licked her maw and sat silently, eyes flicking over to Thanatos and Davyn, where they stopped. She kept them there for a while, comparing the size of the two males, but focusing on how much Davyn's red pelt stood out against Thanatos' ebony one. She shook her head and refocused on Denahi.

Re: Spectre 03 || Macaroon 03 || Kiara 03

S p e c t r e || yearling || male || 1 || crush: open || tags: Macaroon, Laurens, Folkvar, Salem, Ophelia, Onyx || mentions: tagged only
----------------------------------------
Spectre looked at Macaroon and could sense a feeling of hurt in her eyes and body language. “What’s wrong?” He asked her. He took his eyes of the pack and focused completely on her. The pack didn’t need the close watching of a yearling as much as his sister needed him to confide in.

“Nothing’s wrong” He listened to the amount of hurt in her voice. Something was definitely wrong. “What did Laurens and Folkvar say?” He asked her quietly. He assumed that was it. She was, after-all, not much of a pack wolf. She didn’t listen to instructions as much as she should, and Spectre knew that. “Folkvar called me out in front of everyone. He said I sleep in too much. I know that, but people could’ve heard! That’s embarrassing!” She replied quietly, a clear sense of embarrassment and anger reflecting in her voice. Spectre agreed with Folkvar on this one; maybe Macaroon should learn to get up on time instead of sleeping in like a literal pup.

“Macaroon, you’re not a baby anymore. Start getting up on time” He said bluntly. He wasn’t the kind of wolf to wrap things in shiny wrapping before handing them to others; especially not to his sister. He said it like it was, and Macaroon knew this. He watched as she took his words and sat in silence. She was probably just calming down; she wouldn’t be pouty for long. There was too much socializing to be done for her to sit around.

Sure enough, after a few minutes, Macaroon got up and trotted off. She was much better now; she had probably realized that no one else had heard Folkvar and that there was nothing to be embarrassed about. Spectre quickly turned his head back to focus on the clearing, where he noticed a few wolves gathering around Folkvar and Laurens. He looked up and searched the sky for the sun, seeing that it was practically night time. One word jumped into his mind: patrol! He could prove himself to be responsible and go out on a patrol at night. It would be an honor to him if the alpha would grant him permission to patrol.

He looked at the alpha, who was standing with Folkvar, Salem, and Ophelia. He also saw Onyx, the newly returned beta, walking towards them. Now was his moment. He jumped down from his little perch on a rock overlooking the clearing, and trotted towards the group. He head his head and his tail high, an obvious attempt at showing authority. The pup only feigned the look of authority, because he was only a yearling, and had less authority than everyone in the pack.. Well excluding the omegas. Salem, Spectre recalled, was one of those omegas. He was lowest in the pack. Spectre didn’t treat him as such, though; he wasn’t fond of treating others as lesser than him. But Spectre still did not like Salem - he felt like the pack didn’t mean anything to him.

Spectre arrived at the group, and looked towards Laurens and Folkvar, rather than at Salem. He gave Ophelia a quick, friendly nod, but ignored Salem all-together. Instead he gave his attention to the leaders of the pack. He was just about to speak when Onyx began. He listened to her words, not wanting to butt in. He waiting until after Laurens and Folkvar had replied before piping into the conversation.

“Can I help patrol, tonight? I know the pack will need it, but I just need someone older to come with me..” He asked confidently. His ears perked and he kept his focus on Laurens mostly. He looked at Folkvar once, looking at him long enough to show that he wasn’t worried about his eyes. He looked him in the eyes for multiple seconds, trying hard and succeeding at not looking away. Then he turned his attention back to the alpha and sat down, sitting tall and awaiting a response.

----------------------------------------
Macaroon let out a long sigh and looked at Spectre with saddened, embarrassed eyes. Her head ran over what had just happened between her and Folkvar and she tried to recall if anyone was close enough to her to hear his remark. She doubted it, but it was still a possibility.. “What’s wrong?” Her ears perked up as she heard her brother speaking to her. “Nothing’s wrong.” She sighed, looking down at the floor. It wasn’t Spectre’s job to take care of her.. He didn’t have to come running to her aid all the time. “What did Laurens and Folkvar say?” She looked up at him, meeting her eyes with his. He had seen her talking with Folkvar, and apparently knew something had happened between them. She sighed again and replied, letting everything out. She quickly told him what happened, the embarrassment boiling up inside her.

“Folkvar called me out in front of everyone. He said I sleep in too much. I know that, but people could’ve heard! That’s embarrassing!” She said quickly, searching Spectre’s face for any sign of empathy. Instead, he replied to her bluntly. Upon hearing his reply, Macaroon pinned her ears. She didn't want to hear that she was wrong, but it was true. She stayed silent, and her eyes drifted back to looking at the floor. Maybe Spectre was right: maybe it was time for Macaroon to grow up.

She took a glance at the clearing in front of her; there was no one, she noticed, that was standing close enough to her when Folkvar was talking to her that could’ve heard the comment. She sighed, relieved that there was not much of a reason for her to be embarrassed. She looked back at her paws, wriggling her toenails in the dirt slowly. Maybe she should start getting up on time. She didn't want anyone to call her out on it again.. Well it wasn’t that but she just didn’t want to be called out in front of everyone. Embarrassment was something she just couldn't handle. So it was settled. Macaroon would get up earlier tomorrow. She would try to get up at the same time as everyone else.. It may not last long, but she would definitely try.

She looked up and saw the sun beginning to sink below the horizon: night was approaching. She looked back and caught a glimpse of Quetzal, who seemed to be one of the only wolves standing alone and not having a conversation. She took a deep breath and stood. She shook her pelt and head, not only to clear the debris from her pelt, but to also clear her head of her embarrassment. There was something good about Macaroon that showed now, at least. She got over things fairly quickly. Come tomorrow, she may not even remember the little comment Folkvar had told her.

Macaroon trotted over to Quetzal, her tongue lolled out of her jaws lazily and her tailed swayed gently as she approached. “Hiya!” Macaroon yipped a friendly greeting, not knowing what much else to say. The wolf was much older than Macaroon was, but otherwise, the two had a lot in common. They liked to lounge around and not do too much. Macaroon hadn’t had much time to speak to Quetzal before, but in her mind there was no time like the present to get to know someone. “We haven’t spoken much before.. “ She said, tilting her head and sitting in front of the wolf. Her tail wrapped around her paws casually and her ears perked, in listen for his response.

----------------------------------------
Kiara noticed Albatross speaking to Zuri and Thanatos on the other side of her. Her head dropped slightly, but he ears remained perked; she was listening to their conversation. It wasn’t that she was trying to be nosy, but that she was just looking for more information as to what happened. What they were talking about slightly confused her though; she was having a hard time following. She shook her head and instead decided to tune out the conversation. She looked around the camp, taking in the small groups of wolves that had formed in different areas of the clearing. She listened for any jobs that people might be talking about needed done. After-all, the omega basically lived to serve the pack: doing the jobs that no one else wanted to do. Besides, she needed a break; a break from cowering and a job would give her time to breathe and probably eat.

Her stomach growled suddenly as it to remind her of her own hunger once more. Her mind flashed back to the dinner she was trying to catch for herself when Folkvar called the meeting. A quiet sigh escaped her lips and yet another, much louder growl could be heard from her stomach. Kiara winced; it felt to her like even Albatross could hear the rumbling her hungry stomach had to offer. Upon hearing Albatross speak to her once again, in continuation of their last conversation, Kiara brought her attention back to her friend. "Yes, I believe Zuri mentioned that too. It sounded like he was back to try again?" Kiara thought this over, turning the statement around in her mind. Of course he was back to fight Laurens, but running into the pack earlier that day was likely accidental. After-all, if he was ready for another fight, the Anubis’ would have fought instead of backing off. Although Kiara had no personal relationship with Anubis, she did know from the pack’ fear of him that he was not likely to back down from a challenge.

"He seemed to insinuate that he would be a better leader to Zuri, and I assume the whole pack. I doubt most of them would follow him though, especially her." Kiara did agree with that; there weren’t many in the pack who seemed to be disloyal to Laurens. Nonetheless, there were one or two wolves in the pack who wouldn’t mind seeing Laurens out of power - Salem she knew was one of them. But these wolves would not be any happier with a greedier wolf as alpha, anyway. They want the power to themselves just as Anubis does.

Kiara looked up at Albatross and began to share her thoughts. “Anubis is likely planning to overthrow Laurens, though the pack is strong and loyal.” She shot a quick glance at Salem and saw him talking with the main leaders of the pack. She shook her head quickly and continued to speak. “He wasn’t going to attack us today, or else he would’ve done so.” A sudden feeling of realization hit Kiara, and she said her thought aloud. “Perhaps he came to throw doubt into the pack?” She pointed out. “Did Anubis say anything about Laurens? Anything at all?” She asked Albatross. Kiara had a feeling that she was correct, and that Anubis had only ventured so close to the pack clearing to throw doubt in Laurens’ direction. Doubt quickly turned into disloyalty and if the alpha had that running against him, then Anubis was more trouble than Kiara had previously calculated.

She noticed as the sun slowly dipped below the horizon: it would soon be time for the pack to sleep and begin the next day. Kiara silently wondered who was supposed to be patrolling or keeping watch throughout the night. Obviously someone had to, or else Anubis would be able to attack at night quite easily. Kiara thought about volunteering herself, but decided against it. Who would trust a weak omega to patrol, anyway?
