Zuri was grooming herself, licking her paws and chest fur to flatten her messy fur. Whipping her head around hearing Folkvar call her name. Standing to her feet, she did one big stretch and trotted over, taking little hops as she goes. She always enjoys spending time with him, both of them knowing about healing and herbs it always proved to be a good and interesting time together. Zuri caught up with him and turned her head at him. "gathering today?" Zuri spoke softly, in a gentle tone as she always did. Zuri smiled slightly "It's been awhile since we've done this. I know everyone's been so busy but its time for us to do it before something else bad happens i guess." she looked up the sky, wondering so much. Thoughts racing through her head what was next for them. "Do you have any idea whats going to happen next? What we should be prepared for?" Her head down as they walked to an area to pick what they needed. She picked many of them around Folkvar, not really leaving his side just in case something went up on them. At least they were together and prepared. Rather than being stuck alone.

Zuri continued to pick herbs. Lavender, thistle, some wild berries, all pushing it into a little pile that she'd scoop up when the time was right. When she heard a noise off in the distance, her ears picking up. Putting her nose towards the sky and inhaling the air. She caught a funny smell. She tilted her head. "Hey Folkvar, i'll be right back okay?" her tail swished around. "I won't be far, and shouldn't be long! You can come find me if i'm not back soon. I think i smell a flower we need!" She trailed off while speaking. the smell smelled like a herb that she hasn't seen in years. Asclepias curassavica. Blood mikweed. But it also had a musty, stingy smell. Almost like it was rotten. Zuri trotted off and titled her head, scanning for the flowers she thought she smelled.

When she saw something move in the corner of her eye. She whipped her head around and pinned her ears to her skull. Lasing her tail around and looking around quickly. She was it move again, except this time she saw a muscle built male, standing in the shadows under the trees. Squinting her eyes trying to get a better look she jumped back realizing who it was. It was Anubis. The brute that tried to overthrow their alpha. She had no idea he even stuck around here afterwards. Zuri's fur standed up on ends, and her teeth bared. That flower, was mixed with his rotten smell. "What are you doing here?!" she asked confused, but in a quite drawn back tone. Afraid of what he would do to her, seeing all his battle wounds from his last fights. He could snap this little fae in half, though she stood her ground. Not too assertive or demanding. Zuri always being mellow, and relaxed even in a stressful situation. All she wanted was that blood flower, and now she was face to face with the likely symbol of death.

Re: ── ‘ the uninvited

The large white she-wolf moved farther out from the den, feeling herself in the way of those coming and going. She settled herself closer to their Shamen and Zuri, though she dared not get too close. They were speaking for a moment, and she did her best not to hear, but then they too seemed to be heading off. Soon she would be alone in clearing, which went against her plans. Stay in sight, always in sight. She forced her long legs into action, coming up behind them. Saying something at this point was probably customary, and would greatly increase her chances of not appearing to them as a creep. But being so near Folkvar made her extremely nervous. If any among them, he would surely be the first to suspect her to be a curse upon them. He seemed to know so much about the gods, and somehow even spoke to them. Or they spoke to him? She wasn't sure. No other packs she had ventured in had a wolf like him. None had contact with dieties. So he was perhaps the most perplexing to her, and the most terrifying.

So she said nothing, like the creep that she was. Just followed behind them as they searched for herbs. Just a pair of black eyes, appearing as hollow depths into the abyss set upon her ghostly white frame. Following them like a shadow. No wonder the other packs had feared her. Goodness. She should really say something. Instead she distracted herself with the plants they kept pulling up. That was something else that baffled her. They kept gathering plants here. She'd never seen them eating the plants, so it didn't make much sense. Albatross heard whispers about how the plants were supposed to be healing, but no explanation of how. Did the Shamen sacrifice the plants to one of their gods for healing? Maybe. She hadnt been in need of much healing since beginning her trek from the coast through the woods and mountains. Though she sure could have used some before that...

Her ears twitched at Zuri's words to Folkvar, again the subject that seemed to be on everyone's lips almost since the day she had arrived. Albatross hung back, not sure she wanted to know the Shamen's response, but came to full alert at the noise. Zuri heard it too, for she parted with Folkvar and headed into the woods after it. But she was going after a flower? Do flowers make noises here? Was she still on Earth? But considering the feeling of apprehension and warnings, Albatross doubted it was a good idea for the she-wolf to venture off after a sound on her own. Even if it ended up just being a flower.

Especially if it was a moving flower, now that she thought about it. "I think it best, She began, almost surprised at herself for speaking to Folkvar at all. "that we not let her alone to investigate dancing vegetation." She wouldn't look straight at him, either way, to keep her dark gaze from his immediate view. Moving past him, and following the smaller pale female through the brush and trees. When Zuri stopped suddenly in the path ahead, however, Albatross hesitated. Her large paws stretched out, and she lowered each one carefully, rolling them from outer toe to inner with each step to reduce any noise she was making. Not that it ever did her much good in these dark woods to try and stay silent. No, her stark white frame was like a beacon to everything around her. And now with the two of them there, two beacons. Zuri may not have been as blindingly white as she, with at least the additions of some greys to camoflaug her a little. But really, she was pretty close. It was no wonder Albatross had had so little success learning to hunt in the woods so far. Everything could see her from a mile away. But Zuri could do it, right? And she was mostly white. There was still hope.

Albatross came around to Zuri's side, the ridge of fur again standing up along her spine. Ready to face whatever strange plant they had found. But it wasn't a plant. It was a wolf? He was Black, or at least close to it, and in sharp relieve to the two that were now before him. She did not recognize him, nor had she smelled him before in the territory. So a loner, perhaps. But she could not see any reason for Zuri's reaction to him. She seemed alarmed, and almost afraid. But of what? A battered wolf? Battle worn, for sure, but she saw no reason to fear that. Just because they had been in a lot of fights didn't mean they were dangerous, nor likely to attack. The large she-wolf had been in countless fights herself, usually for her life against those who saught to kill her to appease their gods. But Albatross, though quick to anger, wouldn't count herself a threat because of this.

"Do you know this wolf?" She asked, her voice clear but low. Unsure of how else to ask, to search for clues without right out asking why Zuri was acting like this. Albatross didn't dare come closer to the smaller female, but moving around her to somewhat place herself as a barrier between them. Not in their way, per say, but angled just so in case she needed to quickly put herself there. She may not have felt much of a connection to these pack wolves yet, but Albatross felt an immediate responsibility over their safety. Especially where there was a size difference. Her ears turned back for a moment, trying to listen for any sounds to indicate that Folkvar had followed. What was she supposed to do with this?

      ANUBIS !!
      ▸ male ▸ 6½ ▸ loner ▸ tag: zuri, albatross words: 399
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Golden orbs flickered around for a while, occasionally focusing on the jittering bugs that sometimes crawled over his paws. He would lift a massive paw and deliver it back to the ground with force, squishing a sizeable black bug. He delighted, only for a second, before moving on. Anubis figured it would be best to go hunting, as he was quite hungry, surely he could find a hare or maybe a leftover carcass. He just didn't really want rodents again. "What are you doing here?!" Speaking of rodents... Anubis would turn around swiftly with his hackles raised and sheeny black lips curled up, showing off his plasma stained canines. He allows his brow to furrow and atop his crown, his ears crowded forward. A low, rumbling growl began to brew at the depths of his throat, but for now, he managed to suppress it long enough to speak without ticking the pack wolf off. What was he doing back here? After all these years? Well, it was simple really, take over the pack, and kill Laurens. But of course, he wouldn't say that out loud, no reason to give away his plans to a feeble little fae. "Picking flowers," he would taunt, moving his body from his previous place to one just a little bit away from this fae. His blistered and herculean frame somehow moved like he was a sinewy fawn, with grace, and flowing movement.

Just as Anubis was about to open his maw to speak again, another voice parted his thoughts. "Do you know this wolf?" An almost solid white wolf appeared from the brush, this one he hadn't seen before. They were the complete opposite in appearance, him, a battered old onyx beast, and her, a dainty looking cloud. He chortled to himself, yet he would scowl and allow his golden orbs to roll - 'What's worse than one annoying pack wolf? Two of em'.' He would think to himself as he watched the two carefully. Anubis frowned, lowering his marred muzzle to the ground, head below his bulking shoulders, waiting for one to say something. But he broke the silence, "Zuri," the merciless animal declared, his head still below his bulking shoulders. This was as non-threatening as Anubis could appear. "I haven't seen you in a while. How is Laurens treating you?" Anubis hissed, his eyes then flickering over towards Albatross for just a moment.

Zuri stared at Anubis in shock, after all these years he was back. She pinned her ears down and scowled slightly. But not in an aggressive manner, never coming off aggressive or threatening. She was frightened at the sound of a familiar voice and jumped and ended up closer to Anubis. She went submissive and backed up. "Uh, yea in a way.." her soft, soothing melodic voice ringed. "Anubis tried to overthrow Laurens years ago. And I guess hes back, figuring to try again." Though Anubis was nothing but a rotten, icy soul she couldn't' find it in her to be mean to him. Or anyone, never snapping or fighting anyone. Tilting her head and eyeing him down. He had earned more scars over the years, along with such a great size now. Knowing the two of them wouldn't be able to over take him, she just stood in silence for a minute. Looking at Albatross and then Anubis. "He's not the smartest to be back on these lands, you've grown in size Anubis. But so has the pack. They'll tear you to shreds." her soft voice seeming slightly concerned.

Zuri wondered if Folkvar, or anyone was coming. Thantos would be good right about now. Or Laurens himself. Zuri spoke once again "Laurens has been a wonderful leader," not speaking of the omen at all. Hoping he wouldn't catch on. "No offense, but a better leader than you could ever be Anubis..." Zuri spoke in a kind tone but with a snarky remark. "were going through far too much to deal with you right now Anubis, the best for you is to just leave." Staring at the ebony pelted wolf, keeping her eyes glued. She looked onto Albatross and then her eyes back to the place where they were picking herbs. A sign to go get the shaman, needing back up in this tight situation. Not trusting Anubis as far as she could throw him. Laurens and Folkvar needed to know now. He was back.

After getting his fill, Thanatos decided that he would head in the direction of the Shaman and Zuri. He had watched the two pad into the forest earlier, presumably gathering herbs, but you just never knew what was in the thick forest. Thanatos' ebony maw was stained crimson though you could hardly see it, the muscular male took a last look around for his alpha before heading off to go on his own patrol. He padded into the thick underbrush, his large paws falling silently onto the ground underneath them. He was a massive wolf, but knew how to be quiet. He was strong, a good fighter, his only down fall was his stamina. Thanatos always blamed his size for his lack in endurance but he learned quickly to just get it over with so he wouldn't have to fight for long, thus risking losing.

A few minutes had passed by the time Thanatos had come upon voices, he recognized Zuri's and Albatross, though he was intrigued by the third voice. A male, a voice he didn't quite know or recognize. But he caught the end of Zuri's sentence and realized that all the stories he had heard in his 3 years of life were true, Anubis. Thanatos paused, considering weather to go and find someone of higher ranking and alert them, but he was on a patrol, which meant he needed to interfere.

Emerging through the shadows, Thanatos' ebony pelt made his massive size stand out against all of the greens. His amber orbs first landed on Zuri, though she was older than he was she was the only one that ever made him think twice about anything. Next his eyes found Albatross, the larger female was quite striking. All white, built, but Thanatos never had any interest in her. Finally his eyes landed on Anubis, the wolf causing all of the commotion. He eyed him up and down, realizing they were very similar in size, you couldn't tell who was bigger from the distance they had between each other. A low growl rumbled deep in his chest and his lips curled back into a slight snarl.
"Well you aren't a pack wolf, so what are you doing here?" Thanatos made his stance a little wider, trying to make himself bigger, he puffed out his chest and his thick coat helped too. He turned to Zuri, "What's going on here?" Thanatos' gaze was ice cold as he turned back to Anubis. He looked the brute up and down, noticing all the different battle scars and mentally shrugged.

Folkvar's eyes remained fixed forward as Zuri came up beside him and even as she spoke he remained scanning the forest floor for signs of herbs, "Yes. I'm beginning to run low. We'll need some eventually." Though it wasn't often anyone was seriously harmed, at least since some of the males stopped underestimating Laurens, minor injuries occurred often enough that he went through several herbs rather quickly. And though the shaman wouldn't say it he feared that this omen would mean he'd need these herbs now more than ever. If something terrible were to come out of this he'd have to be prepared for it. Silently he prayed that this omen would be over before there was ever a need to be prepared. "I agree, I've neglected to consider the need for gathering more," he mused quietly. The pack consisted of so many stubborn individuals that he often found they refused any sort of treatment when they were hurt so occasionally he skipped collecting for a week or two at a time.

As she questioned what would happen next it was clear he fell into an uneasy silence. A wolf who was normally so sure about everything around him for once had no idea what would come next and could scarcely decide what to say. Around the others of the pack Folkvar was able to hide this and convey a better sense of certainty but he'd grown a bit comfortable around Zuri and thus didn't usually hide as much from her. His uneasiness eventually dissipated and once again he was capable of speaking surely, "We must always be prepared for the worst in times like this Zuri. Fenrir is no laughing matter and is a deity that is best left alone. Though I don't know what will happen next I doubt whatever it is will be easy. I believe our faith to our Gods and solidarity as pack will be what is tested." He had dedicated many hours to picking apart the words Skoll had spoken to him despite the fact that it hadn't been a riddle. Folkvar was hoping that he had missed some riddle hidden inside. Thus far he'd been disappointed.

As Zuri informed him she'd be back momentarily he opened his mouth to protest and inform her she needed to remain close to him but before a single word could leave his maw she'd disappeared into the trees. He sighed softly and before he could even move to follow her Albatross appeared at his side and spoke his own thoughts. As the female moved past him he studied her quietly at first. He'd heard the whispers of her past before yet remained neutral on her altogether. She'd come some time before this omen and her constant need to be in sight of others made Folkvar sure that she wasn't the evil within this forests. Yes, her appearance made some uneasy and it was often an omen of death but he couldn't quite see her as being such. Besides, when around her he only felt a sense of not belonging, the fae wanted to fit in with a pack without worry. She wasn't here to tear anything down.

Reminding himself he did have a responsibility to protect the two the male pressed forward, following the sight of Albatross' white pelt. By the time he caught up the two females were standing side by side and Folkvar could only see the slight movement of another body, but the overwhelming smell of decay filled his nostrils. Anubis. Now moving quicker he raised himself tall, head and tail high to show his dominance over the other wolves standing around. Thanatos appeared just seconds before Folkvar did, another welcome pack member in case the situation turned tense. "Stand down Thanatos. All of you back," it was one of the rare times that the shaman showed actual authority, his voice clear and commanding to his fellow pack members.

Without hesitation Folkvar stepped forward in front of the others to put himself between them and Anubis; his own ghostly gaze met the loner's golden ones equally. The two matched in height and though Anubis was clearly more muscled the fact had never seemed to faze the shaman when they encountered each other. "Anubis, I thought we'd decided long ago you would remain outside of this pack's territory," he began, "You're battle stained coat tells me that your ways haven't changed and if they haven't than there is no place for you here." Though his voice still carried the authority the shaman's words were calm. They didn't need a fight now, not in these times. It was best to calmly send Anubis on his way.

Re: ── ‘ the uninvited

Postby Coastal Coyote » Fri Jun 15, 2018 4:45 pm

A vulture. All she could think about as she stared down at the new comer's lowered cranium was a vulture. Though, from the way Zuri had responded it was clear that she definitely fit 'new' more than he did. At last, a break in paradise. Aside from whatever they thought the gods had in store for them, Albatross could find no real problems within the pack. They didn't all get along, but at the end of the day they all still climbed into that strange huddle all close together. This was at least a mar in that rather happy image. One of their own causing such mischief amongst them? Kicked out, no doubt. Not that she applauded the ebon vulture's decision, but it was nice to know that everything wasn't so copacetic.

She lurched forward as Zuri seemed almost to stumble onto him, but the smaller female caught herself. Albatross wasn't quite sure what to do. The air was charged with tension, but she couldn't place why. The loner had lost in his pursuits, and to her eyes he looked still defeated. Scars a sign of experience, but also of a lot of failure. She had her share of them, hidden beneath her dense fur. But to her they were signs of weaknesses, of faults in her tactics that she needed to work out. Of a lack of strength that she had to push herself harder to achieve. Looks could be deceiving though, and she didnt know this wolf. Perhaps following the same reasoning it was a sign that he never gave up on bettering himself. A definite possibility. Perhaps one day she would look like this too.

Either way, she couldn't as of yet bring herself to worry too much about him. Lifting her head up confidently in the absence of Zuri's. Someone had to, that was for sure. A stranger comes up and causes this response in a pack member? Someone's gotta be confident here, or else they'd be giving that power to the enemy. Or... whatever he was. Liquid black orbs broke from her constant watch on the stranger at the sound of another approaching, and then turned her head completely as Folkvar soon followed. There was enough being said between them that she felt no reason to chime in, and on the Shamen's orders she lowered her proud head to neutral and withdrew a pace. Standing down wasn't exactly something she was used to, but she wasn't about to expose herself to anything remotely "curse" like while he was around.

Ooc: eh, plenty going on, she be quiet.

Zuri pinned her ears back in concern. She was very fearful, but also knew it was best to stand up for herself every now and again. Zuri heard a familiar voice, it was Thantos. Sighing in relief, Thantos wasn't as big as Anubis. But could stand his ground for sure. Zuri inched away and towards Albatross, eyeing the brute male full of battle wounds. Her gaze never leaving his, making sure he made no funny moves. Zuri stood side by side with her, obviously much smaller and not threatening. Thantos just about threatened him when Folkvar showed up, much more relief now that they're shouldn't be blood shed. "Oh thank goodness you're here Folkvar, Thantos.." her eyes glanced over them for only a second. Always thankful to see Thantos. "I didn't think he was here, the brute smells like just what i was looking for..rotten..decaying.." Zuri spoke softly, and sort of embarrassed. But now was no time for pity or anything like that. Now was the time for action, and getting that wolf off out grounds before he caused more trouble. Being more trouble than he was worth.

Zuri looked around, the smell of the flower still lingering in her nose. It had to be somewhere, she spotted it only a couple feet away from Anubis. Sprinting over there and uprooting it from the ground she took off behind Albatross and Thantos. Standing behind them with the flower in her mouth. A risky move, but he posed no threat to Zuri. She held no power in the pack, and merely was there to heal and nurture the stubborn members. Her head down low, but proud that she got what she came for. Looking at Albatross and Thantos with a cheeky smile, with the flowers in her mouth. Whipping her tail around and nudging into both of them. "So glad you both showed up at the right time.."

Onyx was knocked out from her duties the night before. Patrolling and hunting, only capturing a few rodents and rabbits. It was better than nothing. Thinking it'd be smart to stock up on anything right now. Waking up earlier than she needed too she thought her work never ended. Onyx yawned, and stretched her legs out one by one. Her joints cracking, she shook her self out and pulled her self together. Laurens and Folkvar nowhere to be found at the den she was watching the other wolves over her shoulder while sitting at the entrance of the den. Swishing her tail back and forth on the rocks. Awaiting orders form her higher ups, she just couldn't sit still anymore. Sitting there about 10 minutes she pinned her ears back, tired of waiting and shook her head. She decided to run off on her own, knowing it wasn't the smartest thing to do she kind of had her own plan for everything. She could take care of herself, and that's all that mattered to her.

Onyx trotted away from the den and towards the east, towards that beautiful rushing water. Feeling pretty thirsty, and gross. While also craving some fish, she didn't want any company. The beta always preferred the company of herself. And that rushing water calming her nerves. Onyx licked her jaws while getting close towards it, just off pack territory. She loved it here, it brought her a sense of excitement and danger without the threat of death over head. Onyx made it there and jumped up into her usual spot, a large boulder right above the water. The stocky but short wolf faced a lot of challenges and duties lately. Sometimes it was nice just to lay back, and enjoy the sound of the water. Her tail laid peacefully, the tip slightly moving and watching fish swim by every few minutes. Not many fish seemed to be left in the lake, wondering if the omen was going to take there food supply away and huffed.
"I guess nothing good lasts forever, huh?" Onyx felt dread on her shoulders, thinking about the pack and their well doing being unraveled. Anything happening to the pack she wanted the best for them all, even the ungrateful omega Salem. Nobody deserved this kind of torture or punishment of unknowing what the future holds.

OPHELIA ──xstay, i whispered, as you shut the door behind you.❞

It was at this point that she smirked, they'd share the guilt for running slab into eachother. She was satisfied with that. Opehlia: 1 , Salem: 0. She listened as he spoke and couldn't help the snicker that flowed from her maw as he yawned. "Maybe you do seems more apt, sleepy boy." She retorted with a smirk, even if he would claim that yawns were contagious she knew all too well that he was just as tired as her... well maybe she was more tired. She'd never admit, since for her admitting to him that she was more tired would surely become a joke and she'd refuse to give him more ammo to use during one of their playful quarrels of words towards each other.

Though now as she turned she couldn't help but hear him say she'd sleep away all of their problems. Amidst her lack of sleep gave view to a lucid Ophelia whom burst out with laughter, barely able to form coherent words, "Y-Yo know waht? I think i mite!" She replied, her face twisted with amusement at the given situation- which truly wasn't as funny as her reaction had made it out to be. As she continued to wobble away she soon felt her own weight relieved off of her paws and she was quite literally being carried. Ophelia wasn't a petite female, but rather average. Instead of fighting it she simply laid limp atop Salem with a dopey grin, small giggles coming from her with each step he took. She didn't understand why so many members of the pack disregarded him as being aggressive and problematic. To her he was good fun and a kind wolf. Who else would carry her into the den because she stupidly pushed herself too far this time? Most everyone else would let her lay face first in the dirt.

"Hey! You're older than me grandpa!" She slurred out at his retort of her age but it was all in good fun, her voice laced with amusement and sarcasm. As she was flopped down she stretched, her paws reaching outwards and a smile overcame her silver and white face. This was where her heart desired to be right now...in bed. Her ears perked at his question of if she had gained weight and she finally opened her eyes again to meet his own brown gaze. "Rabbits are too good to pass up." She replied cheekily, nodding in agreement as he said they should get at least an hour or two of sleep. She wanted 5 days of sleep but that wouldn't come. Something was brewing and she knew it.

She watched as he laid down, their own gazes locked onto each others. Without really thinking why Ophelia got up and padded over to him, curling up near his upper half she laid her head down in the crook of his neck, even with Ophelia not being a small female Salem was larger than her, stockier whereas she was lithe and thinner. Her own skill at fighting came from her wits and not her brawn. Perhaps her exhaustion gave way to a moment of weakness where she'd shown him her softer side, the side of her that was capable of showing affection, even if her affection was now surpassing that of platonic love. She nestled her head deeper into his fur before her eyes had fluttered to sleep. Quickly after her eyes closed her breaths became heavier and her body relaxed- usually Ophelia slept curled up in a ball and to the far side of the den, but now she laid snuggled into Salem slightly sprawled out- vulnerable.

ISORRO ──xthe true strength of a man is in calmness.❞

Isorro nodded at her reply and a smile overcame him. "I like that way of thinking, let our paws lead us to where we ought to go." He added, playfully nipping her hip. It was a gentle touch, his teeth barely grazing her flesh as his eyes danced with a liveliness and playfulness that seemed long lost among the pack given the current situation they were faced with. He wanted to be a source of comfort for Kesera as much as she was to him. She was his own slice of paradise, he had found himself becoming increasingly loyal to her. The only other wolf that held such loyalty was Laurens himself, he'd lay down his life for that male, Alpha or not. His ears couldn't help but pickup the tail end of her soft laugh and he smiled, "You laughing at me hmm?" He teased, shaking his head once more, nose wrinkled towards her. He had an idea as to why she was amused, he had never really stood at his height before but now he was doing so. Like a chicken at a show, fluffing up his body to give off a larger presence. Infact, it brought a chuckle out of him too, causing his eyes to squint slightly as his mouth curved upwards.

As the forest grew denser, saplings and full blown trees erupting more heavily around them he slowed, pacing behind her. It was only now, much to his own guilt, that he looked Kesera over. She wasn't a dainty female like some others, she was well built. Her frame would allow for her to bear litters of pups with more ease compared to some. She could defend herself and others, hold her own in a fight. Yet she was lean and well muscled, not in a masculine sense. In fact, to him, quite the opposite. Isorro was besotted with her appearance the moment he laid eyes on her. She was feminine and carried herself with respect, not to mention the fact that her pelt was striking. The browns, greys, blacks, and whites held a simple beauty to them, and her eyes. Don't even get him started on her eyes. Yet it was only when her got to truly know her that he had fallen for her. He broke his gaze, mentally chastising himself for looking at her like that. He wasn't some idiot bachelor who wanted to look at females like that.

Now weaving around the trees his focus was now on not tripping. The thick vegetation pulled at his legs and threatened to send him face first into the peaty soil and he'd really rather not make a complete fool of himself during this trip. His ears perked at her mentioning the mountains and he smiled. He loved the scenery of the mountains, they were beautiful and secluded. Perhaps heading that way would give him more time to spend with her. He could always spend time with her while they were at camp but he always held back, partially because he wasn't sure if she would return the same affections and he also didn't want to deal with the little sarcastic remarks from some about how he had a crush on Kesera. "The mountains sound like a lovely idea. It would provide for some much needed down time. I'm afraid I've grown a bit irritable with some of the pack, their nerves are just palatable in the air. It's like some of them just won't breathe." He spoke gently, amusement and a hint of teasing laced his voice and he continued trotting forwards, ears flicking around, listening for anything and everything.

"I didn't mean to spook you back there." He suddenly blurted out, recalling how she had pressed her nose to him and comforted him when he first awoke, "Back in camp I mean." He added once more, guilt had ebbed at his paws about it for a bit of time now. He both loved her comforting him in that moment of time when he had woken in a fearful state, but it caused him worry to think he might have spooked her or worried her in some fashion. Shaking his head to himself her trotted forward, curving around various trees like a snake around rocks. Once closer he reached forward to lick at her cheek and neck. Only pulling away once faced with a tree, wiggling around it too he had once again fallen behind her.

The fae's silver maw was stained a deep crimson now, after devouring the hare Nyx decided it was best to set out in search of her next meal and to be aware of other wolves in her surrounding areas. She always thought it was best to find the pack wolves before they found her, and to just observe and stay out of their way. Hiding wasn't easy for her as her silver pelt made her stand out, though her undercoat was dark and she did somewhat blend into the shadows, the silver always gave her away. Nyx stood, continuing in her previous direction, she moved effortlessly, winding through the trees and thick brush. The fae wasn't large, but she wasn't petit either. She had long slender legs, and a narrow build, but she was muscular. She was made to run, but was also strong enough to take down her prey. Nyx heard a voice in the distance and she paused for a moment trying to pinpoint the area it was from, weather or not there was more than one wolf, but nobody answered the first voice and she decided to check it out from a distance. Nyx jumped over the log in front of her, her pale grey-amber orbs observing the forest in front of her. She stepped slightly quieter than she had been earlier and stopped when she saw the ebony female watching the water. She stood in the shadows, trying to decide if it was in her best interest to say anything. She crouched down, out of sight, so low that the fur on her belly brushed against the dirt. Deciding the female wasn't really a threat, Nyx spoke up."Hello there," she cooed. Her voice was soft, and she stepped out from the shadows. She hoped she didn't startle the fae and sat down, just on the edge of the under brush so that she could be seen.
