- the soft hum of the morning woke the sleeping tom. the chirping of birds carried uneasiness with it, his pelt rose slightly. many cats thought the neighboring cats posed no threat to forestclan. he knew that was just lies the cats told to the apprentices. his father had disappeared two moons ago to the wild-ones, or he assumed. he remembered that day, when his father disappeared, just like his mother's fate in the clan's safety. she took cloudstripe's two sisters, rosepelt, and honeytail. from rumors they were killed, or turned rouge, joined the wild-ones, the list goes on. but only cloudstripe knew the truth, his mom and his sisters became kitty-pets.
thinking about the past always made cloudstripe forget the time. his fur was coated with twigs and bedding. maybe a quick cleaning won't hurt. his tongue soothed down his black striped pelt, but it also let him look more presentable. he threw a stick intertwined in his fur while observing the camp. he let out a yawn before raising, he was still barely awake, but he knew the clan wasn't going to feed itself. he gave a big stretch before heading out of camp. cloudstripe is usually by himself, not many cats trust him because of his kin. his father was devoted, but his mother was weak and ignorant. his father only loved her because of her striking beauty, cloudstripe didn't believe in that. he knew if he were to fall in love, he would rather have someone who has a good personality compared to beauty. he had no thoughts of love though, he knew if he were to raise kits it was not to be now, not while the wild ones are threatening the well being of his peers. he raised his head to taste the air, before catching a scent. shrew, it definitely wouldn't feed the whole clan, but it was enough for some to eat. he scanned the area, zoning in on a shrew hiding in the short groundcover. he crouched, keeping his tail down, then he froze. it saw him, i must kill it now or it will be out of reach. he was close enough to pounce, just as it turned to run, he gave one fatal bite and it was gone.

- weasel yawned slightly as she noticed the sun hadn't risen yet. the chill of night blew her fur, a shiver through her pelt ascended. weasel lifted, her tortie coat flirting with the cold night air. she looked around the camp, no cats were present. not even guards are awake, she thought as she left the den, when i'm a guard it'll all be different. she whispered to herself, but soft enough for no cat to hear. she wanted to prove to flame that she was worthy of a guard spot, but how? maybe i could use my charm. she would catch the biggest rabbit in the forest and prove she was worthy of being a guard. since no cat would show her the territory because of the mouse-brained forestclan cats, she would have to give herself a tour. she quickened her pace as she left the group she called home.
after looking a while for food, she forgot where camp was. her stomach turned, her fur raised slightly. her ears flattened as she heard paw steps behind her. you're really in trouble now, what if they find you out here? instead of staying put, she crept around a bush, her eyes searching for something, anything to prove she wasn't up to devious things. her eyes focused on a flame pelted tom, her age, maybe slightly older. she didn't recognize this tom, and he was also on the wild-ones territory. she crouched down, as she tried to recall back to watching older cats attack threats. her claws unsheathed as she prepared to leap. as adrenaline pumped through her, she pounced on the unsuspecting cat, holding him down.
"who are you and why are you on wild one's territory?" she questioned as she dug her claws into his soft stomach. something restrained her from doing much else, she didn't know what it was. maybe it was lack of experience or fear that he would hurt her, or maybe something else that she didn't understand yet. she hadn't ever seen a cat quite like him, he was definitely not a loner, he was well too fed and smelt of the forest. a sudden realization hit her, he's forestclan.
