When Prim answered with a smile, Phantom felt his heart ease a little more. He had been greatly worried for her. Like him, she came from a foreign land and didn't have these Gods the horses believed so strongly in to hold their own spirits up, so Phantom didn't ever want to make her feel like she was alone. He nuzzled her gently, lipping at her with affection.

With yet another sharp quip, Vira was off and running again. Phantom pinned his ears, before letting out a loud sigh. Let her run. Though he ached to move after her once more, the fact of the matter was that they were in neutral territory and not Jotunheim. Should he run after, there might be predators, and with herd missing members and with new foals, he wouldn't allow himself that type of foolishness. Perhaps it was calculating, but Phantom was never a horse ruled by emotion. He knew his emotions, and tried to live by them to the best of his ability, but at the end of the day he would take the path that went in line with his responsibilities. After all, he was no earl that could just dash after anyone that he wanted to. He was a King, and his commitment was to his herd.
Hoping that she somehow found Astrid or at the very least a nice earl that she would not have minded either way, Phantom shook his head, looking at his herd. "Just keep moving. It would be too difficult to go after someone who does not wish to stay." He only hoped that she didn't run helter skelter into Hnitbjorg, or worse, Oydis and Bjorn. That would definitely sow some bad blood between himself and the others.
At least, as of right now, his valkyries were in no immediate danger. Prim and Eliza were covered (hoooo boy), and Signe had just foaled. Whilst foal heat tended to come quite rapidly, the mares had to recover first, so it wouldn't be happening any time today. Whilst he was still loathe to leave, Phantom remembered Bjorn's and Oydis' individual promises to look for his herd mates. He would just have to trust them, it seemed.
As he moved with a heavy heart over Vira's actions, Phantom couldn't help but overhear Forseti's question to Signe, and his ears perked curiously, wishing to know if the foals had names too. With all four of his daughters leaving him this year, the king was sure to be more than a little lonely, and he'd be lying if he said he wouldn't appreciate some new life in the herd, though they were vulnerable. As of now, he didn't quite approach them, not wanting them to be intimidated, letting them come to him on their own terms. At the same time, however, he did stand nearby, letting them get used to his scent. That way, if any trouble happened, he would smell familiar enough to gain their trust quickly. With his age, Phantom was an experienced enough parent, as his many children were a testament to.
As they moved, he nudged Signe a little with a friendly whicker, praising her gently in his own way for the birth of a healthy foal and in finding another. Though other stallions might react negatively toward a foal that was not of their lineage, Phantom was quite open toward foals, not in the least because they were cute but more because he knew that every horse that grew helped enrich the land in some sort of way, and just mindlessly killing out one's competition meant less new opportunities in total for any one horse.

The heavy hoofbeats were unmistakeable, as was the soft but firm tone of Titan's voice. As Titan called the two maidens away, Thera looked up curiously. Was he going to continue on his previous tangent and reprimand her once more? Still, her knowledge of having done nothing wrong kept the mare strong, and when he leaned down to nuzzle her gently, she let out an affectionate whicker, nosing him warmly. At his words, Thera couldn't help but feel any indignation melt away. It wasn't like she had disliked him in any way or form, after all, only felt a little stifled.
Whickering gently, she lipped teasingly at his forelock. "And you have mine, my King." Though her curiosity lead her down unconventional paths, Thera did genuinely enjoy Titan's company, and she was quite loyal to him, in every sense of the word. She knew that he was implicitly apologising, and with a warm smile accepted his apology. As he lipped at her in turn, Thera simply swished her tail out the way agreeably. She had wanted her heat scent gone for a long time now, just that she hadn't wanted to do anything whilst they were in another's territory.

With that out the way, Thera nosed him gently, relief in her movements as she reached up to groom his mane. She was a horse that was definitely on the smaller side, and though she did not carry her foals heavy, Titan's foals often did cause her a bit of trouble, being as large as they were, both physically and in character. Still, Thera would be lying if she said that didn't make her life a little more interesting.
As Phantom's daughter, a weaker one of twins that he'd had two years ago, plunged into the water, followed by an earl, Thera allowed her ear to swivel toward Titan at his words, before she let out a small chuckle. "Probably not, for a while yet. But some types of disruption, I think you purposely seek out." With a pointed look at Mazi, Thera did not hesitate to make clear exactly who she meant, though the both of them knew the comment was not meant maliciously. Thera knew Titan well enough to know that he loved those types of mares, and even as he moved in front of her to make a physical barrier between her and the new earl, she knew that reminding him of the new prize he'd gotten would definitely improve the King's mood.
As he tensed in at the loud whinny, however, Thera nudged him once more, less to get his attention but more in comfort. All the same, she knew her words would not comfort him as much as seeing the other's foal, so she did not speak, just stayed by him. Cita would bring her young one over when the time was right.

When her mother whinnied back warmly, Dream fell silent, ears pricked forward in curiosity, simply absorbing the sound. She tried to mimic it once more, letting out a soft, warbling grunt, but stopped as Cita nudged at her rump, getting her to stand once more. Struggling with her long legs, Dream somehow managed to force herself into some semblance of standing, before moving toward where Cita pushed her, encouraged by the smell of milk.
It was a slow, unsteady process, but Dream persisted, a ear kept trained on Cita's voice, her ear swivelling at the sound as if trying to hear it over and over. As Cita spoke, Dream let out another gurgle, but latched on, now more focused on the scent of milk. As the taste of the warm substance finally touched her lips, Dream wagged her tail happily, suckling with vigour as she filled her hungry stomach. It was exactly what she had wanted, and as she stumbled forward in an urgent need to get closer, she let out more soft grunts, nudging her muzzle into Cita as she suckled voraciously, happy to finally have something to fill her stomach.

Without a word, the mare crumbled, sides heaving. Knowing that he needed to let her catch her breath, Dia grazed almost nonchalantly, the aggression gone from his body and now a mildly protective stance to his behaviour. There was no need to rush now, after all. She was hers and he would treat her as such.
After a few moments though, the mare was still shaking. Curious, Dia moved forward, letting out a curious whuff so she knew that he wasn't planning to hurt her. "Did you fall or something?"
As he looked her over, it was obvious to see that she was ridiculously thin and frail. Though her coat was utterly beautiful, she seemed to have a thin frame through which she drew shuddering breaths, but through her scent she had no noticable injuries. What exactly had this horse suffered from?
Frowning, Dia nudged her, not quite sure what was going on. Was she just naturally weak? Being an earl was tough in valhalla. He couldn't have a mare that wouldn't be able to keep up. Hoping that she regained her strength soon, Dia simply stood by Vira, watching over her.
Then, a scent. As Dia caught the scent of a bunch of different horses, he looked up. In the distance stood the herd of Alfheim, the black king Titan standing before his herd, an imposing physical barrier. He spoke no words and made no movements, but the lines of his body made the message obvious: You are not welcome here.
Taking a step back, Dia bobbed his head agreeably. With the other stallion's larger size and how much older the other King was, Dia would not be able to win a fight, and so he knew better than to assert the fact that anyone could technically stay in this territory. Instead, he pawed heavily by Vira's head to catch the maiden's attention without looking away from the larger stallion.
"It is time to take our leave. If you can't keep up, I can't guarantee your safety." With those words, he turned and started moving, albeit slowly, further away from the black king. He did want to keep this mare, but if she could not even follow, then he would he hard pressed to keep her anyway.
