owl female three years and seven months lead.healer tags.timber location.camp love.interest timber

the female wasn't the type that would oversleep, she was climbing the spot of the wolf that slept the least, in the last days known to rest less and less and more were worried if she actually slept, some thought that she even had white nights. owl had her mind at the wolves that no longer breathed the same air as her. she was afraid that even more might die or vanish, leaving the pack even more exposed than it is now.
the healer's den was quite mediocre. it was buried under a bush, like a shorter tunnel. the bush's roots made the earth more stable, the chances of it collapsing were low, acting like columns. her safe place was big enough for a single wolf, owl's safe place was only shared with herself... and sometimes the fae wished that she could share that safe place...
sun's rays started to make their way in the lead healer's den, falling on her face. it made the wolf start blinking and letting her eyelids close again, trying to turn from the sun. the problem was the den was very small even for a wolf, not allowing owl to move too much from one side to the other. she groaned in annoyance, more to herself, regretting that she didn't dug more. her muscles were working under her rippling fur that was all covered in dust. the contrast was big, her white pelt was now painted in an a vague ochre. owl sighed, letting her tensed neck muscles relax and let her head slowly fall on her paws.

she decided that it would be the best to leave her den since, guiding after the strong sun the fae decided that it was already very late and she had to wake up and decided if the need of herbs was strong.
her gaze dropped on the walls of her den as the wolf dug her claws in the soil, pushing into her legs as her body raised. just like she would stalk a deer, owl started to slowly crawl out, feeling the sun even stronger on her head. with a last push of her hind legs, the lead healer was now outside, her tail wagging like a pendulum after the jump. owl dipped her head, breathing slowly, but loudly. relaxing her muscles the female narrowed her grey eyes, in search for another wolf she could start her day with. now that she was out of her den, deep in the ground she could hear clearly the birds chirping, looking at the camp from the branches they were staying on. the first wolf she was going to talk to was her alpha, timber. owl couldn't understand why he had that gloomy aura, but she decided to ask why, since she already had in mind a few guesses. making steps closer to the male, the healer felt something tingling her, but decided to not concentrate on that feeling.

"hi, had a restless night?" asked intrigued the female stopping at a considerable distance. her legs started working again, moving the wolf closer to the other. deciding of a good distance between her and timber, she let her body fall in the grass with her tail curled around her body. between the two there was enough space for another wolf.
the truth was that the female had something for the alpha, but even she didn't quite know what exactly.

    aaElya
    ───────────────────────────────────────────────
xxxxxxxElya's motions remained stiffened and solitary. She lay in the thick tussocks of grass ploughed within the meadow. In there was a shallow ditch. The grass was thick and lush, growing in dense clumps. The oak tree provided sun-flecked shade, a cool and refreshing respite from the mid-summer sun. White umbrellas of cow parsley were becoming brown. And the rutted track, once boggy was mud hardened and cracked. The meadow lay peaceful in the thickening light of late morning. Oh, how Elya wished she could become part of this magnificent structure of plants and trees. She often came here just to dream her self in the fantasy she had created. Crickets flew imminently in surprise as she lay gently on her side, slipping their back legs into a tuneful melody which one would recognise a cricket for. Elya smiled quietly, gazing at the crickets as one missed the thine stem landing on her snout. Lamentably, it soon new it's mistake, although it didn't expect the lupa to crinkled her nose allowing the insect to flee and live another day.

With all her undoubtedly wish full thinking, she had almost forgotten her reasons for even venturing so far from her camp. Apart from the peacefulness, she sought. But more than ever she wished in these meadows for companionship. To share these sacred grounds with a significant other. But she had work to fulfil. Her form clenched her cotton pelt restraining from the stiffness she had caused herself when slumbering in the meadow. 'Okay Elya' x She established resuming her resame. "Thistle, sorrel, ragwort, dandelion, thine, and" the words rolled of her tongue as she recalled all her herbs "cotton". Elya dipped her head dutifully through the grasses pulling up various plant life, her mood shifted as she pinpointed the different plants. She gently tugged at them from the lower stem in consideration to not ruin the plant. There was no point going through all the effort on collecting the herbs if they were going to be spoilt with no roots. Her heap began to grow resenting her to stop as she started to get carried away.

Elya fished out her herbs being considerate not to damage them. A tuneful melody relayed from her maw as she hummed to her self, reflecting her days spent as a healer. Oh, how she worked splendidly, however her lead healer became somewhat of a concern. Although intercourse with other lupins was found forbidden. It took no genius to see that Owl was less pledged in her work, and more in others surrounded her. It pained Elya that she had no say in what ensued within the pack, and she wouldn't daren't anyway. She despised her timid nature, but like all hopes. She always believed it would come true. Approaching camp the female picked her way around most of the wolves, slinking her feet between the barbed cracks in the roots. Plush ears fell behind her neck as she passed various dens until hers came into view. She was so wrapped up in her herbs well-being, she had forgotten where she was heading stumbling straight into another lupa. She stammered slightly peeling her eyes from the ground into, who seemed to be Ever. Her head dipped as she dropped thine, cotton, ragwort and sorrel at her paws. "My apologies,-" She hummed her golden eyes shifting back from the plants to the healer. "my clumsiness often costs my dignity."She finished with all truth she could amass she knew she needed to take precautions when around other canines. She just accumulated that it was because of the amount of time she spent alone in the meadows.

x Fallen Timber Leaves ───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
( nickname: Timber ) x x ( rank: alpha ) x ( mood: tired, grim ) x ( location: center of pack ) x ( crush: none ) x ( tags: Owl )
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

xxxxxxxxxThe silence that surrounded the young brute was washed away as the sight of a familiar wolf approached him and his stoop. Timber nodded his head into a low bow, showing his deep respect for the healer, and her presence. Lifting his head up, his eyes scanned the pack one more time before they fell and rested on Owl's figure. "Good morning Ms. Owl." Timber said, his voice low but warm.
xxxxxxxxxThe silence was broken as Owl spoke to him. Timber let out a small sigh, and looked down at his paws. "Alas, I had a full night's sleep, but it was not a peaceful sleep. I kept seeing all the wolves, all my family and friends, that passed away. I kept dreaming that they were reaching out for me, begging for me to help them. They were asking for simple things, like food and shelter. But no matter what I did, it was not enough. I dreamed that I caught them deer, and elk, and even rabbits. But each bite they took, their bodies got skinnier and smaller. The more they ate, the more they starved. It was a terrifying race against time, that I knew was an endless battle." Timber said, his voice grim.
xxxxxxxxxShaking his head side to side, he attempted to push the memories from his brain. "I am sorry, I did not mean to dump all of that emotional turmoil on you. I know it was a rhetorical question, or a question you did not expect that kind of answer from. And I am sorry I didn't consider that. I just... Needed someone to tell. And I am sorry that happened to be you." Timber said, his voice genuine.
xxxxxxxxxAttempting to change the subject, Timber remarked, "You should not be complaining about my sleepless nights when you are trapped in that den that is no bigger than my paws." He said with a light chuckle, his charcoal black shoulders bobbing at his hollow laugh.

( nickname: Ever ) x x ( rank: healer ) x ( mood: bored, happy ) x ( location: edge of woods ) x ( crush: none ) x ( tags: Elya )
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

xxxxxxxxxEver's eyes began to shut, and her breathing began to slow. Just as the fae was about to drift into unconsciousness, the sound of paws approaching snapped her out of her soon-to-be slumber. Her golden eyes fluttered open, and she lifted her head to be greeted with the warm face of a fellow healer. "Good morning Elya!" Ever said with her normal chipper tone. Her pale tail began to wag behind her rump, and she sat up from her resting position, to meet the other wolf eye to eye.
xxxxxxxxxEver watched as the healing supplies slipped from her companion, but Ever kept her face as soft as silk. Ever reached down and nudged the dropped items to the fae. "Don't ever apologize for being clumsy. It is a natural thing that happens to us healers. It is like a trait we almost all carry. I promise you I am twice as clumsy as you. I am shocked I am alive to this point. I feel like I should have fallen off a cliff or died tripping over a log by now." She said, a slight giggle hidden inside of her voice.
xxxxxxxxxEver looked at the items that Elya gathered, "Oh you found the cotton! I have been searching for that stuff everywhere. I checked where it bloomed last year, but it appears that all of the cotton that grew there has died. I was worried that we could be cottonless this year. I am glad you found it!" Ever said, her eyes glimmering in kindness and releaf. "Oh, have you seen any blackberries? I have looked high and low around the pack but I can't find a single bush. I think my sense of smell is dying, or I am loosing my touch. Maybe I need someone better at finding supplies to do my bidding."

      [ male ] [ nm; fang or ghost ] [ five years ] [ no crush ] [ alpha's advisor ] [ tagged with -- ] [ word count; 839 ]

The young and quiet mornings were just never something a wolf should take for granted. It's cool and crisp air being so light one could just barely taste, the weather having a slight chill factor due to being fresh out of the horrid winter. One that the large male wolf lost his sister Silent to. A chorus of birds song rang out across the land, echoing off of tree branches and small and constantly flowing creeks. Such a lovely song it was, despite a low growl that rumbled out of a den farther away from the rest. It wasn't completely spacious, just enough for two average sized wolves and perhaps a pup. Yet the space was only taken up by one resident at the moment, his large bulk taking up plenty of space. His ears flicked with annoyance as Fang's forest gaze slowly blinked away the somewhat peaceful sleep. Last night he had only woken up twice which was a new low record; which he should be thankful for. It was the very rare occasion that the male would only wake up twice rather than having borderline insomnia with constantly waking up. His eyes gazed over the claw marks that bore the back wall from pervious nightmares, both before and after he lost his sister. A yawn interrupted the looming thoughts of regret, stretching his large muzzle open against the cool air. The scent of morning dew as well as the sprouting spring flowers filled his nose but did nothing to the low growling deep within his belly.
White Fang heaved his hefty body out of his den, using the sides to scratch his back for an unreachable itch. Wolves seemed to be sprouting from their dens as well, either in pairs or one at a time. Timber seemed to be engrossed in a conversation with the lead healer, Owl. Though with the facial expressions that held on the alpha's face, it didn't seem like a pleasant one. Voices that appeared closer to him were two other healers, Ever and Eyla. Despite one looking sleepy, her voice carried her usual chipper tone. There was no way that the male could ever be that peppy in the mornings. Or ever.

Over the years, his burn makers grew back very short patches of fur. It's a very thin layer, yet to the touch the scars would feel fuzzy than hard skin. It fixed his outward appearance though it was never an important factor to the male's life. Fang hasn't spent time trying to court a female, nor really having the desire to in all honesty. Perhaps that would change before he gets too old himself, but as for this living moment, survival is more important. The dingy white yet glowing pelt of his reflected a low amount of sunlight that bore down onto his large body, warming up the creature before he decided how he was to start his day. Duties such as preparing a hunt should be organized during that day, but as for right now a day of rebuilding and relaxation shouldn't be to bad. Everyone else was still hurting in some way, even with more showing it than others.
Ghost made eye contact with the fellow large male, Timber's ebony pelt being a large contrast from his own snowy one. A small nod of respect was due before the advancing forward with his actions. Slow and steady steps kept an even pace as he padded out of the camp in what seemed to be too big for the now size of the pack. With time everyone is hoping for it to grow, but it's just a wish. Not many are opposed to having loners join or someone brining in a new addition. They just want to be prepared enough for the next winter. The previous one was hard enough; not having enough food causing wolves to starve or the eldest ones getting terribly sick. Its the way of life, yes, but it shouldn't be so cruel to the ones who are left behind.

White Fang wandered aimlessly this morning, his forest green gaze peeled for any sudden movements. Prey or predator. And not so secretly his sister. They were separated during one terribly strong blizzard during the beginning of the cold season. She didn't make it to shelter in time behind him and got lost in the winter furry. Once the storm let up, her tracks and scent were gone. It was assumed by everyone that she was dead. And maybe she was. But he was way too stubborn to give up on his younger sibling. She was the only blood family he had left. Her voice softly whispered little things in the brute's ears as he wandered, keeping him relaxed with the lacing of grief. There wasn't time for the male to grieve over his lose. He had to try and save everyone else. Either protect the pack from scavengers or join the hunters to find food. It was a hard time then but hopefully not now.

      [ female ] [ nm; silent ] [ four years ] [ no crush ] [ loner ] [ tagged with -- ] [ word count; 831 ]

Which was heavier or colder? The crushing winter that took away lives of more than just plants or the loneliness of those who are left without the one's they loved? Maybe they were both equal, deadly in their own right. But the season has changed. The icy claws that gripped the earth slowly thawed. It brought warmth of the sun and the growth of new life, thus bringing prey. It was a gradual change, some birds returning to their homeland or small critters such as squirrels coming back to rebuild old nests. Such a small critter must have found something left over, freshly plucked from the previously frozen earth. It appeared to be completely oblivious to the rest of the world, just being joyful that it found itself it's first meal of the day. The larger game would appear equally as slow, some before or after the smaller animals. Yet the squirrel would just have to be enough for the ebony female. Her bicolored eyes zeroed in on the small squirrel from a distance, completely oblivious to the predator's menacing presence. Slow paw steps carefully brought the wolf closer and closer to the target. It may not be her usual preference of meals, yet something was better than nothing. Silent's mouth salivated, hanging slightly ajar, focusing on nothing other than her future meal. A deep breath. And she flung her body forward.
The squirrel had no time to process or react to the danger it was in before it's neck was caged by sharp and pearly white teeth. It was a quick death as Silent wasn't one to play with her food and make it suffer. Faster it is, the faster she could eat. While taking advantage of the small creature being still warm, the wolf plucked away the chocolate brown fur with the her front teeth and spitting it out on the ground beside her. It's body was held in between her two paws as she moved into a laying position and began chowing down on her earned meal. It wouldn't satisfy her for long, but it made up for not eating anything the night before. It was a failed late night hunt and she was too tired to even attempt to find anything else.

Blood stained the hairs of her muzzle, despite drawing her tongue across the fur multiple times. It would come off during the day so it wouldn't bother her much. Silent's breathing slowed to something calm as she finally took into her surroundings. The trees were growing back into what they once we, the branches blossoming with thick green leaves that ranged in shades from one another. The light blue sky dotted with clouds was just barely visible from underneath the canopy of trees. It was the beautiful sight as well as being a change of pace from the white snow covered earth. Small patches of flowers had just begun to sprout out of the ground in the places around the female wolf, catching the morning dew and filing her nose with the lovely scent. Bit that wasn't the only one around. Another predator. Multiple to be in fact. Almost strangely familiar, yet so distant. Her ears flatten with confusion as her brows furrowed with thought. 'Why do these wolves smell similar? I've never belonged to a pack since my parents,' A soft voice spoke inside her mind as she took cautious steps forward.
Silent Night wasn't the most trusting when it came to other wolves. She's been screwed over by many, either being attacked and threatened, or just used for her brilliant skills. Her past wasn't easy, nor something to be fawned over. Her entire family died except one. One that she couldn't remember. The voice was a mystery to her yet the body appeared in some of her dreams. Large and white like snow, acting like a guardian angel. She doesn't know if the wolf was even real, perhaps just something her brain made up to seem less lonely. But a small piece of her did wish that the white creature was real. And that one day she would find them.

After a short clump of minutes walk, the scent of the pack became stronger. Much like her confusion. Silence hung in the air until a lovely chorus of bird songs reached her ears. It was a lovely tune, bringing a small smile to the female's face. Her nose twitched with the stronger smells become more apparent, being able to distinguish one wolf from another. She padded over to a tree, sniffing the side up and down. Whoever lived among this forest, the wolf had just happened to find their pack border. And by the mixture of faint and strong smells, it must have been quite the large pack. Against her better judgement, Silent squatted slightly to mark along the side of the tree as well. It would give her scent and hopefully understand she was not a threat. Just a traveler at most.

CARLISLE
[gender: male] . [age: six] . [rank: lead warrior] . [tagged: nisha] . [mentions: timber]

Out of all the wolves, Carlisle seemed to have taken the winter rather hard. Now that the new season had set in, people had a chance to really assess how they had fared through the cold months. Waking alone in his den had been one of the worst realities of Carlisle's loss. No longer beside him was the slumbering figure of his mate, his love, Pandora. They had not been courted long but he had quickly grown to see her as a best friend and much more. They had decided to hold off on puppies,
praying that after winter they could try and build a family. Pandora had not made it that far. Now without her, Carlisle was more solemn and more serious. He knew he was not to blame for her starvation. The entire pack had suffered and she had just been one of the unlucky ones. None of the canine's looked that good now that the snow had melted away, he was no exception.
As he emerged from the thicket of his resting place, it was easy to see Carlisle had lost weight. His pelt hung a little more loose around his bodice. The flaming red of his fur was dull, malting and falling to the ground to adjust to the temperature. Chaos had erupted as the pack had starved and shivered. Carlisle, being the leader of the strongest, had become something of a peacekeeper.
He had brawled his own brethren in an attempt to keep them from losing their sanity and now he was left with scars riddled around his head, throat and legs. It would take some weeks before he and the rest of the pack were back to top shape, and that was being optimistic.
Padding through camp he grumbled a hello to Timber, noting that he was locked in conversation and therefore not interfering.
He knew that they were low on hunters and while he wanted to assist the others on gathering food, he had to do his own duties first. And that meant patrolling. It appeared Iona had already left to cover her end of the territory and so he scouted out for another of his subordinates. Nisha was not hard to miss. The main colour of the pack was white but Nisha had a delicate and refined face which marked her as an immigrant into the land. Her stature was different and Carlisle assumed her pack must have come from a land with flat terrain, thus her lean build. She smelled faintly of jasmine, an aroma that greeted his nose pleasantly. "Nisha," he greeted, jaws reaching around and holding her muzzle; a common message that told Nisha she was safe. When he pulled back, the bloody red wolf nodded to the north, "We ought to patrol, no? Unless you feel you have something that takes priority."
Nisha was still young but then again, most of the wolves in the pack were young. The elders had died. Carlisle was the oldest and likely the strongest due to his superior age but he did not doubt in his warrior's skills. He knew that Nisha was gifted in both brain and brawn. "If we come across recent elk tracks we can return and alert the hunters, perhaps accompany them on a hunt,"
he commented, looking at her with slight pride in the fact that she was a warrior under his lead.

ENDER
[gender: male] . [age: five] . [rank: omega] . [tagged: elya, ever] . [mentions: -]

Ender dreamed wildly of his greatest ambitions. He could see himself on a ledge, a pack below him. Each of them submitted to his rule and beside him stood a mate of the most beautiful standard. When the harsh light of the morning sun filtered into his den and startled him from his slumber, Ender gave a bitter growl. He only wished to go back to his sleeping fantasy,
where he ruled the world. Groaning, his shoulders clicked into place after having lay stiffly against the stone floor. As an omega
he was not gifted the comforts of a proper den and each night he was left outside to scavenge around for a place to rest. Crawling out of the crevice he stretched forward, hind legs low to the ground before repeating the process in the opposite direction. Wolves were beginning to move and he pricked his ears forward in observation as one female crashed into another. He recognised the first, Elya, as she apologised profusely and Ender gave a mocking chuckle under their breath. The other, a brightly lit white, brushed the sorry off and they were soon chattering over herbs. As Ever spoke, Ender's nose twitched. The scent of meat wafted off Ever's breath. Before he knew it, Ender's stomach grumbled and he was trotting forward. The closer he got to them, the lower he came to the ground until he was crawling pathetically forward. As an omega he was expected to be submissive, despite how Ender despised it.
"Elya," he quietly greeted her, licking her chin in respect. With that done he paid attention to Ever whom smelled delicious, he could hardly contain himself.
"Ever, you ate recently?" he asked quietly, the tawny wolf squirming below her. He gave a yip and reached up to lick around her mouth, begging like a puppy for her to regurgitate it and share. After hunts, he almost never got anything considering he was the last to eat. This chance did not come up often and he was desperate to taste some actual meat. As his nose pressed against her gums he could target the aroma of rabbit and drool formed in his own mouth. Never fed, unable to hunt and never shown generosity, Ender was shocked he hadn't starved through the winter. In all honesty, the omegas had been the first to die. It had only been Ender's cunning that had allowed him to make it through. He had stolen from many wolves during snowy nights and he was prepared to do the same in order to survive. In the back of his mind, while he humiliated himself in front of these females, he never forgot his dream to be at the top. But for now, he was reduced to begging. At least the healers had a reputation of being kinder than the rest.

MARLOWE
[gender: female] . [age: four] . [rank: hunter] . [tagged: -] . [mentions: -]

(open, probably trying to gather people for a hunt)

IONA
[gender: female] . [age: four] . [rank: warrior] . [tagged: silent] . [mentions: -]

Rage flowed through the female's blood as she investigated a large cave south to the pack's camp. She had gone on her patrol in a mood after having a dream in which their pack was still whole. "Why us, why this family," she muttered, cursing the skies and the cold weather that had chased the prey away and left them as shivering bundles of fur. For months Iona had barely been able to stand, let alone serve her pack due to an empty stomach and weak limbs. Now that she was moving again, she was determined to make something of herself. Perhaps prove herself to Timber and work her way up in the pack.
If anyone was a hard worker, it was Iona.
Pausing her thoughts as a smell caught her nose, Iona detected the stale aroma of bear. Must be months old, she thought absently to herself. The bear would have left or died by now due to the seasons so she took no mind of it. Later she would remind Timber of the cave in case it could be of use to the pack. Turning and trotting along a worn animal path, Iona made sure to mark their usual boundaries before she turned and headed back her own way. She had heard rumours of a few lone wolves around these parts and was surprised when a foreign wolf scent came to her. Female, due to the heavy thickness it had. Female loners were not common.
Shaking out her fur, Iona's hackles raised defensively and she took chase. Loping along, Iona became increasingly worried as the loner seemed to drift closer to camp. She was so focused on the scent she almost missed spotting the actual wolf. Ducking back,
the other wolf was a coal black and marking a tree. Knowing it was her duty to do so, Iona stepped forward and gave a warning bark. "Hey, there's a pack here, didn't you know?" she questioned. Her jaws parted a little in interest when the wolf came properly into view and Iona saw her mismatched eyes. Beautiful, Iona thought. She also looked oddly similar but Iona couldn't put her tongue on it.

owl female three years and seven months lead.healer tags.timber, ever, elya location.camp love.interest timber

owl looked at timber with a melancholic gaze. she concentrated on every word he said, feeling somehow responsible for what happened. after all, she was a healer, she was the one that had to take care of others in her professional medical way.
being addressed with 'ms' seemed far too formal for the female and at the first she wanted to ask the alpha to stop calling her like this, but decided to no longer, since he already seemed gloomy and had too much to worry about. owl felt a warm breeze fly through her pelt making the female close her eyes and enjoy the moment that just passed, now lost in the past. and as she enjoyed the warmth the wolf slightly raising her chin in the air. with the breeze getting less strong owl opened her eyes, feeling her heavy eyelids raise and so her iris perceiving the world again.
till the end owl didn't say any word, making her capable of concentrating better on the brute's words, the female being quite a good listener. her ears twitched waiting for the male to end what he was saying. the healer was sometimes afraid that her silence might be perceived as total ignorance by some, seen as her disinterest.

her head was slightly pushed forward and her ears perked as her jaws opened to let her words out
"well, i am glad that you decided to share all that was on your mind with me. i like when people dump on me their emotions." said owl with a chuckle and she decided to continue with an explanation. "you see, i think that once you shared something with a different wolf, you no longer feel oppressed by what used to cause you sorrow. and you answered my question and that's what i wanted." finished owl with a sketched smile on her lips.
the female felt like she wanted to say more, encourage timber more and encourage him, but the male's change of subject made the healer realize that she should do so herself. maybe she was getting too deep in his personal life?
"that den is good and managed to keep me safe for a couple of years. yeah, it's true that it might not be the largest, but it is in fact comfy. why have a large den you can't share with any than a small one, only for you..." responded at first with a chuckle owl, but pronounced slowly and heavy the last words. shaking her head left-right and stopping with a smile the healer said. "well it was nice to start my day with you timber, but i am afraid that i will have to leave and see what the other healers are doing and greet them too."

owl raised her body, pushing in her legs with the claws dug in the soil and wagged her tail slightly as she turned her body around and trot towards the other two healers stood. her ears raised, detecting any sound from their conversation. feeling the tall grass tickle her underbelly, owl pushed in her back legs, jumping over the portion covered with the vegetation.
reaching the two, their voices became clearer. it was ever with elya. reaching next to the two in time, owl slightly dipped her head towards her partners. "elya, ever. good morning" and targeting the alpha's sister's question the lead healer said, trying to help
"blackberries don't grow near the pack, they grow deeper in the forest and marshy areas. or you can find some further on the hills, but then, you get too closer to humans. you should find them near dense vegetation, under trees where shade prospers."owl looked then at ever "correct me if i am wrong. and bravo finding cotton, it is true that it has been quite rare this season."

xxxxxxxThe lupa's ears pruned as her fellow associate began to speak. Her vocals chimed with brimming confidence, exploiting her lack of shyness the female possessed. Her mind placidly sighed, she found her self-straightening up as if to prove an amount of worth between the two. Feelings regularly empowered her decisions in exchange for her lack of speech. Often others emotions would surround her. Swelling into vibes her body was in a fit shape to consume. This often gave her light indications on whether or not to approach them. However, this scenario brought confidence. The confidence she had sealed behind closed doors, which is not accustomed to this brand new emotion fulfilling bafflement within her. Similarly, as new emotions came, they were exploited within a moment, reassured with the shyness she knew all too well. Ever babbled on provoking her to elaborate in the consultation; "And what a splendid morning has fallen upon us," she hummed elaborating on the day which always seemed to open up her conversations. A small movement adverted her gaze as her bundle of herbs beginning to unravel. Now freed from the confinement of her jaw they were once caged in, she moved her paw over the thine to stop it unravelling any further.

Elya's maw twinkled at the thought of not being alone in the clumsiness she brings upon her self, she had always thought it as a trait she alone possessed. But now it seemed as though the very way she saw Ever had changed within that instant, maybe she wasn't alone in this cruel world after all? "Wow, I never knew clumsiness ran amongst the traits we shared !" there was a but to be had "but you can be thankful that you don't have the shyness the consumes me." Elya flickered her pupils to her herbs gently rolling her paw over them to remove the soil which carpeted them. She knew of the diminishing cotton spawn, she had to rummage around the same area in search for the little ivory puffs. But the cotton must have been savoured by the sparrows as they nested in the trees around her den. 'Early birds catch the worm'. She mused, allowing the phrase tingle with her before relaying the information she went through to collect the herbs. "Alas ! I went through a strain just as the one you described, it seems the early birds caught the worm this year." She indicated with her tail to the twittering amongst the foliage. "However I used more of a traditional method during these hard times, I have begun to use the thistles debree ." She relayed watching the cotton try to escape her paws, "It has a similar density to the cotton we use and I just pray it was valuable to my time." She prayed hoping this information would seem palpable to the healer. She began to feel a worry for her herbs they needed a dry storage or all of her work would be in vain.

It seemed as though more and more wolves wished there company. Including there leader Owl. The morning brought strings of white stratus to contrast against the blue sky. They drifted lazily in the breeze without destination or purpose, as if every day for the clouds is an of no ambition. They variated in hues of deep metallic, a worrying thought for her plant's wellbeing. "It seems the heavens are wishing to open." She voiced hooking the herbs in her mouth although some had escaped dropping into a scattered mess. "I could use some assistance in return a hand in finding those blackberries?" The stiffness from the morning had seemingly left her as her hocks oscillated freely, tressing through the mingled shrubs to her den."My gratitude Owl it took me a great deal of evaluating but I belive this cotton will work" Bumping into a third wolf, she shivered at the overwhelming companionship taking several breaths the redeem her self. "Ender," she huffed through bits of shrubs "I could use a paw," She looked down at the herbs she had missed carrying on with Ever and Owl to the helers den.

───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

xxxxxxxxxHe knew that Owl did not like to be called, 'Ms.' but after the harsh winter, he found himself being more formal and less fun and outgoing. Being fun was not a part of the alpha's job. Even though Timber was often a chipper wolf, ready to lend a helping paw in a discussion, after the harsh winter he felt as though a lot of his carefree personality has vanished along with the wolves that he was meant to protect. Including his pup. The memory of Lacy rushed into his head, and his hear sunk to his paws. But the brute's lips remained sealed shut as Owl gave a brief goodbye, before departing to go see the fellow healers, along with his sister. Timber was left sitting there alone, as he was just moments ago. He was left alone with the singing birds and his vengeful thoughts.
xxxxxxxxxWith his heart filling with sadness, he allowed the memories of Lacy to fill his head like an overflowing river. Much of the winter and beginning of spring the alpha has supressed the memories of his pup. Although Lacy was not related to the alpha himself, he found her as a daughter. Lacy was the runt of another wolves litter, and was left alone in the woods to starve late last spring. He was wandering the woods looking for a meal when he heard leaves crackle. Once he approached the pile in question, he saw a tiny newborn wolf, trembling in the decay.
xxxxxxxxxWithout a hesitation, the alpha gently picked up the pup and rushed her back to the pack. With the help of the healers and his sister, the pup was safe and alive. He named her Lacy, after the soft golden pelt that she possessed. And that summer, he watched as she grew. He even dug deeper into his den so the pup could have a home that was safe from the harsh conditions, and he could keep a close eye on her. It was amazing how much she grew and how wise she was in her young age. She was as brilliant as she was kind. One day she would have made a loving leader, and a spectacular mother.
xxxxxxxxxBut then- No. Timber refused to remember the last memories of her. How he wished that the winter was kinder, or had waited another year to crash down on his pack like it did. But alas, he now woke up in a den all alone. Without the happy yipping of his adopted offspring. And now the empty space that he shared felt like a ghost of a memory.

x Every Sunny Sky ───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
( nickname: Ever ) x x ( rank: healer ) x ( mood: happy ) x ( location: edge of woods ) x ( crush: none ) x ( tags: Elya, Owl, Ender )
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

xxxxxxxxxEver's eyes twinkled as Elya talked, and it made the young healer's heart glow like a lightning bug as the fellow wolf began to look more relaxed. Ever always tried to make other's happy. She, herself, was an energetic wolf who tried to never let anything or anyone get her down. The last thing Ever wanted was for another wolf to feel unhappy around her. It was Ever's life mission to rise up any wolf that crossed her path. She believed everyone needs a spark of joy.
xxxxxxxxxJust then, Owl could be seen coming their way. Ever bowed her head in a greeting, joyous that more wolves were accompanying her. Owl was quick as lighting to join in on the conversation between her and Elya. It was common that her and the other healers would meet up and go through inventory and suggest new ideas. It was one of Ever's favorite activities to do with the healers, and she believed that it made their connection with each other and the pack stronger. And therefore, the wolves could have a higher chance of getting better because the healers work so well together.
xxxxxxxxxAs Elya, Owl and her conversation pursued, the cracking of sticks was heard approaching. Soon, the kind face of Ender was seen, with his nose parallel to the ground. Before Ever could mutter a single word, Ender's shaking voice piped in. The brute was clearly in distress, and even from a few feet away, Ever could hear Ender's stomach demanding food. Shame washed over the fae as he inched closer, licking her jaws. Remorse from not bringing anything back filled her chest, and made her ears press down onto the back of her head.
xxxxxxxxx"Ender," her kind voice said, "Please sit up. There is no need to be crouching down. You may be a lower ranked wolf but you are still a wolf. Just like us. Unless you did something wrong, there is no need for you to lower yourself to the grass." She waited for him to sit up, her eyes not threatening nor demanding. It was more of a hopeful suggestion.
xxxxxxxxxAs Elya suggested a hunt for the blackberries, Ever had a brilliant idea. "What if the four of us, yes, including Ender, go out? We can go looking for blackberries and hopefully catch a rabbit or squirrel on the way. If we are lucky maybe even a doe will cross out path. It would be much easier to hunt if we are in a group." Ever suggested, her tail already beginning to wag in her own anticipation of her idea.

██│SONG OF THE MOON │██
THE WARRIOR

indentationThe quail's white-flecked feathers fluttered in the chilling early morning wind like a hummingbird's wings, almost as if there was still a stirring of life within the stone-still body. But Nisha knew there wasn't any left as she watched it go cold through slightly raised eyelids. Despite the threat of the slightly nipping air murmuring outside, she was perfectly content to curl up right next to the den mouth and let it wash over her head and between her ears. She needed a distraction. And this light cold proved exactly what she wanted to keep her mind off things.
indentationIt was already early spring, but the cold had not yet completely faded away from their lands, especially in nighttime. Already she pined for the thick fields of grasses that turned rosy in the sun, fruits and blossoms bursting in the trees and the great deer herds that ever so often passed by camp. As she gazed unproccessingly at the delicate fringe of trees that lined the clearing, a question that had occurred to her umpteenth times flashed across her mind once again. Why them? With the camp so peaceful now, it was nearly impossible to imagine that the winter's wrath had ripped so many lives from them and left their hearts barren and cold with grief. Nisha knew for sure hers hadn't recovered. One by one she had to stand by and watch her packmates succumb to the chill. She had only survived because of sheer endurance — It was a trait her parents had relentlessly instilled into her since her puphood. Now, she was empty and jaded, simply going through life as it was without passion. What was the use of passion? Passion couldn't save lives.
indentationWeak silken rays of sunlight bled over the cave roof into its mouth, showering her with a few leaves in the process. Nisha opened her maw in one long, soprano yawn, wishing for nothing more than to curl up in the darkest corner of her den again. But duty called, one that she had to answer. Her gaze flicked upwards towards the line of thin trees again, watching the pale morning mist swirled about her ears like an opalescent halo, highlighting the bright butterscotch flecks in her eyes. The hairs at the back of her neck rose and fell in tune with the sighing breeze that skimmed past deeper into the den. Though she was silent, anyone who knew her well enough knew that Nisha was thinking. The gears in her mind were ever-turning, analysing, musing, drilling. Even when the sun dipped below the horizon and darkness blanketed her den, she never ceased to think about the day and the day after, or linger on something that irked her. That was Nisha the Warrior - the critical thinker, the focused one. But also the cynical one, since she spent tons of time wondering if anyone's words directed towards her contained intentional malice of any sort.
indentationAt this moment paw steps drifted into her ears, and a shadow fell across her vision. The russet fur wasn't hard to miss, even though the pack was a sea of tabs and browns. She knew that face and the wolf. Carlisle was her superior, and one that he respected. He became the only elder wolf left after the tragedy took the lives of so many. In the end, mostly the more youthful and able ones could maintain their walls against the unwavering cold of that winter. As he held her muzzle gently in his jaws, she bumped it gentle against his neck. "Carlisle," she greeted back in return, climbing to her feet. There was a pang of pain at his words. Something else other than mourning the death of their close ones? But live had to go on like it always did —There was no stopping for any wolf, not even those recently steamrolled by Mother Nature. "I would have, if..." Nisha trailed off, suddenly realising how weak her next words would make her seem. She cleared her throat subtly. "Of course. I do need the exercise and the practice." She dropped slowly into a luxurious stretch, popping her joints and flexing her rusty muscles. Hunting did indeed seem like the next best thing to keep her mind off things.

CARLISLE
[gender: male] . [age: six] . [rank: lead warrior] . [tagged: nisha] . [mentions: -]

It seemed she had been as lost in thought as he had. Wondering what left her thoughts so heavy, Carlisle could only guess she was thinking the same as him. Loss. Pain. Agony. None of these things should be something such young wolves think about. She spoke his name with the eloquence of a wolf that belonged in a rank higher than the one she guarded now. Selfless as ever, Carlisle hoped to see her rise and would be a proud mentor if ever she succeeded him. Of course, heh, he wasn't quite done with his life yet. He needed to redeem himself these coming years and prove that the tragedy that had befallen the pack was not going to hold him down. Defend, love, fight, be remembered.
She drifted off mid-sentence, a common occurrence for Nisha and he let out a breathy chuckle. "You think too much," he purred warmly. Such an enigma, she was.
The crimson wolf let his manhood get the best of him as she flexed back. Her figure was taut in the stretch and before Carlisle could stare too much longer he averted his gaze quickly. If it weren't for his coat, she may have spotted the bloody blush on his face. It seemed almost a crime to glare at her for impure reasons but he did manage to quip, "You've matured wonderfully from the ankle biter you used to be." It was the most appropriate compliment he could give without seeming blatantly aware of her feminism. He recalled when she had stumbled upon the pack, young and nothing more than a scrawny heap of sass and ambition. Carlisle had only just graduated adolescence and had found her and most of the other youngsters utterly annoying. Now she was his comrade.
"Ahem, yes, we should go." Leading the way expertly to a patrolling trail, Carlisle took the lead. He marked where the scent needed to be refreshed, sometimes through urine or sometimes dragging his coarse fur against the brittle tree trunks. He saw several hares leap in front of the trail but they were beyond the hunting of rodents. Hares were much too fast and it was very quick to get frustrated with their speed and agility. "They breed like mad, at least we won't run short of them," he nodded to a brown one as it bounded before them. "Elk, however, are not so quick to reproduce. And when they do, the mothers would die for their kin, making them just as deadly as bear or cougar," he informed lightly, moreso commentating than educating Nisha.
Aware that he did seem to be chattering on like some lecturing teacher, he glanced her way, "You had something on your mind,
earlier. Would it still be relevant to suggest to me?
" Nisha was elusive, he would not press her if she did not want to talk.

ENDER
[gender: male] . [age: five] . [rank: omega] . [tagged: elya, ever, owl] . [mentions: -]

Oh lord do they ever stop chattering, Ender thought to himself. They were mind numbing-ly domestic with their excited yips over plants. Plants, of all things. He would never understand the conversations of females, especially the unorthodox healers who invested their time in brewery rather than the hunt. Why couldn't they all go actually help the pack by catching some food. C'mon, poor Ender is starving over here. Every time he questioned them on why they spoke about such boring things, they would all laugh and say a man would never understand. Not that I want to understand, he complained internally. What a judgmental and bitter young wolf he was. When Owl came over he damn near rolled his eyes. Finished fraternizing?
he thought with a sneer. He had a distaste for Owl, even more so when she did not even glance his way. Then again who would ever want to pay attention to an omega. She chipped in on the conversation and Ender couldn't help but let slip, "Know-it-all."
He spoke so softly that he prayed none of the trio would overhead. The last thing he wanted was big female's biting his hide because he spoke out against them.
Ever's voice caught his attention as she asked him to rise. So...no food. Disappointed at having no share, he retreated to his pessimistic self. She was kind, Ender would admit, but naive. "That's not quite how it works, healer. The pretty bunch, also known as you, get basic rights. The omega? The uglies? We crawl in the dirt, it helps you guys feel better," spitting it out before he could hold it in, Ender winced at his own hostility. Ever didn't deserve such harsh words and he almost felt bad. Almost. Pride prevented him from apologising, even when she invited him out to find some strange fruit. To try defuse his own tension, he looked to Elya who motioned to the herbs on the ground at her feet. "Oh, yes, of course," like a slave, he obediently scooped some into his maw and teetered by her side, waiting for direction. He assumed no matter how hard he tried, the cheery three would drag him along berry hunting.

MARLOWE
[gender: female] . [age: four] . [rank: hunter] . [tagged: timber] . [mentions: -]

Marlowe, despite littered in dirt and leaves, still held the elegance of a female coming into her prime. She had faced her first maturity heat just before the winter and now she felt more grown and wise than ever. Of course, she always had things to learn, but having survived and now being a proper 'woman', Marlowe felt invigorated and more determined than ever to help her pack. She knew Iona would do well no matter what she did, Iona was the more resourceful of the two sisters. But Marlowe had grace, ambition and the bustling mind of someone with potential to use.
Her cunning was evident now as she gnawed on the hind of what appeared to be elk or deer. Though the pack had not successfully hunted in a long while, she had recalled marked areas of forgotten, stored food. Having checked these areas early morning, Marlowe had found most had been ransacked by other animals. Yet she was gifted with the old leg and after capturing and burying some quail, had taken her prize back to camp. Using her paws to pin the bone she tore away soil covered flesh. Her tail thumped steadily against the ground. The hunters had been all but wiped out and so until she could gather others, there was not much for her to do. Not even the young pups had survived and so she had no one to mother. Marlowe had always helped the mother wolves with their young.
Heaving a grunt of indulgence and nostalgia, she felt her senses urge her to look up. There lay the shadowed figure of Timber.
Owl had departed to tend to her duties and now the alpha lay on his lonesome. It was like for a second she could read his mind and she recalled the glowing pup he had so adored. Lacy. Marlowe had enjoyed the youngster too and had hoped to see her rise and improve the pack through expansion and contribution. Marlowe had fed the pup meat from her own mouth. Cocking her head the reverse agouti wolf paused her meal. As a subordinate of Timber she felt obligated to occupy him. Sweeping her feet under her she approached with a dipped head, making sure to show all the respect one should when near the alpha. In her belly she felt her stomach heave and Marlowe regurgitated meat in front of him, offering it like he was a neglected puppy in need of a meal. It was rare a wolf offer regurgitated meat to another adult, a little intrusively intimate almost, but she felt that Timber's pain had left him nothing more than a young alpha trying to save his family.
"Your mind is heavy. I won't ask but perhaps I could distract you in some form," she whispered. "Everyone suffers from this passing season, Timber. You do not run the miles alone so don't feel you must drag the weight of everyone." Settling in front of him, her meal still presented to him, she curled her tail around like nestling in front of a fire.
