Aleera

Age- 5 / Pack- Quadra / Rank- Warrior / Tagged- Open

------------------------------

Seagulls cried out on the near shore, waved crashed with no relent against the beaten rocks and the familiar scent of sea salt hung in the morning air. Aleera opened her alarming, yellow eyes, blinking away the remains of sleep as she dug her claws into the soft sand beneath her lithe frame. The she-wolf licked her maw, ears twitching at each new sound as her long, bushy tail flicked back and forth, brushing against the cave walls. The warrior streched out her front legs, the muscles rippling and coat shining from the wet dew that hung thick in the air. Aleera closed her eyes for a moment, enjoying the quiet of the morning. It seemed so peaceful in this moment, she rarely allowed herself to relax, not wanting to take the risk of her defences being down. The she-wolf was always awake at the crack of dawn, she didn't sleep much, always on the look out for potentail threats, her primal urge to protect her pack always present in the back of her mind.

Aleera heard movement from outside her den, her mocha brown fur bristled and she felt her top lip raise slightly, a growl forming in the back of her throat. The familiar salted scent of her cheif- Midas- then surrounded her and Aleera instantly relaxed, knowing the pack was safe. Recognising that he wanted to begin organising the morning patrols the she-wolf rose from her cacoon of warmth. Shaking the sand from her thick, dense coat Aleera slunk out of her den, watchful eyes taking in her surroundings. The thick condensation in the air clung to her fur, almost like it was trying to weigh her down- trap her.

Aleera's upper lip rose in discontent due to the uncomfortable feeling as she made her way to the large boulder where her chief was preparing to make his announcements, his off-white and tan pelt almost merging into his surroundings. As she gazed up at his form that commanded respect and attention, the she-wolf pondered on why anyone would want to split from the pack and she felt disgusted that any wolf would betray their leader in that way. Aleera kept to the back, not wanting to speak to anyone but close enough so that she could listen to any discussions that may take place. She hoped that she could go out on patrol, the need to stretch her limbs almost overbearing.

Zander

Age- 3 / Pack- Sonora / Rank- Warrior / Tagged- Open

------------------------------

Something sharp pricked against Zanders obsidian nose. The sweet scent of dew and the rainforest invaded his senses as he cracked open one amber eye, his yellow-flecked gaze zeroed in on the blade of grass that was pricking his sensitive maw. The warrior blew out a heavy breath of air that clouded white once it escaped the heat of his body, the force sent the pesky blade of grass bending sideways like an acrobat before it returned to its original position.

With a sigh Zander rose on his strong, muscular limbs, shaking his head to get out of his distracted mindset as his large mouth opened in a yawn that showcased two rows of gleaming, sharp fangs. His rust coloured coat gleamed orange as the sun rose from it's deep sleep, highlighting the sky with breathtaking hues of pink and violet. Zanders eyes twinkled with mischief as he looked around the camp, excited at what this day may bring. His bright gaze flitted over his familiar surroundings as he noticed his cheif- Marzena- was absent, with only a faint twinge of her sweet, flowery scent remaining in the air. He shrugged it off, respecting the fact that even leaders needed a moment to relax and collect their thoughts.

Zander pondered on what his activities for the day may be as he stalked towards the two boulders where announcements we're usually made, his footfalls making no sound as he skillfully avoided any debris and spread his weight absentmindedly so that he will be completely silent as he moved, something that he perfected quickly as an apprentice. When he reached his destination, the young warrior sat on his haunches, ears swaying in various directions as he remained alert for any threats as he gazed up to watch the sky transform before his eyes as the sun made its ascent.

The sky never failed to amaze him, filled with mysteries and endless amounts of space. Overflowing with wonders, yet so much space, so void. The sky was ever-changing, its various colours of navy blue, black, lavender, robin’s egg blue, turquoise, and a fiery tangerine painting the dome above him. Sometimes the clouds were puffy and tall, other times they were no more than mere wisps, dashed across the sky by some divine paintbrush. Sometimes twinkling stars dangled from the heavens, sometimes the luminescent, white moon, and other times the blindingly radiant sun. Fergus observed the billowed, wondering just how far away each one was. He caught a brief flash of light from a small crevice in the tempestuous clouds. A stagnant humour hovered over the lead medics aroma, something curious not as a morning should feel like. Dense shafts of moisture, unlike the sea's, revolved over his coat What could this be?

Though this thought could not consume him for long as a more pressuring thought anchored his mind. One that his rank would never shake of for how could they. Herbs. Unlike the common pack, he had to improvise with what he used as he supplies. He had hundreds of sub-species of seaweed. One untracked mistake and his patient could not make it. A dangerous and agonising job, one not took lightly even by this flirtations wolf. However, one plant that does not categorise with seaweed, most uncommon and needed looking for was Muhly grass. One of the only things with roots in this damn place. He would need to send some of his medics out to help him search if they weren't tangled up in their own maintenance.
With all his combined thoughts he almost forgot his most important thing topping all others, he slowly turned his slender snout to make sure no one could see him, even though they probably would. His metallic eyes laced over the ocean shoreline wich lies jagged, the rocky outcrops, a torn piece of paper where they meet the rushing waves. The shore is everything at once, every sense bombarded in a way that brings his mind to elevated thought. His eyes opened there is every shade of blue before him, every shade from white to browns and greys at his paws. Slowly closing his eyes there the cool breeze, stealing warmth, giving him the taste and smell of the brine."Awright, Kuria. Ah wull jyne ye soon ah promise." He spoke to the lapping waves, calmer than usual. His mate belonged in the waves and so as long as that lapped, she was there. The sight of a feminine shillouette was the only thing that stopped the tears from clenching his fur.

    ' PANIAxOF SONORA'
      ranking.)..council memberxxage.) ..four years youngxxlocation.)..sonora camp/bayxxtagged.)..marzena, fergus

Already the wolf was tired. Tired of Quadra. Tired of not being able to sleep. Tired of the constant threat of attack hanging over their heads. But Nia being Nia, she never voiced her concerns and simply bottled it all up, only letting her mask slide away in the privacy of her den. It wasn't her den now however, so letting a cryptic expression rest upon her muzzle, she looked towards the horizon and inhaled, slowly, like it were her first breath of life.

Watching the seagulls circling the sands and the creamy foam-topped waves lapping on the shore was the only thing that actually calmed her right then. From where Nia stood on a small boulder, she had a clear view of the bay of Sonora that stretched out as far as an eye could see. The ocean was clear and glistening like thousands of polished, interlinking shells in the pale morning sun, though slightly obscured by the veil of fog that had settled over the previous night. It swirled about her ears like an opalescent halo, highlighting the bright butterscotch flecks in her keen gaze. The hairs at the back of her neck rose and fell in tune with the sighing breeze that skimmed past towards the camp. Though she was silent, anyone who knew her well enough knew that Nia was thinking. The gears in her mind were ever-turning, analysing, musing, drilling. Even when the sun dipped below the horizon and darkness blanketed her den, she never ceased to think about the day and the day after, or linger on something that irked her. That was Nia the council member - the critical thinker, the focused one. But also the cynical one, since she spent tons of time wondering if anyone's words directed towards her contained intentional malice of any sort.

She still remembered the stories of the split that her father had told her in Faolan's time. Of the reason Sonora was created. And she was more than happy to agree wholeheartedly and leave Quadra far behind in her memories. Nia had never thought well of it. She found the laws strange, with no real scientific backup, and was simply there to restrict them. They were only interesting to study, not to follow. In her eyes, laws had to change with the times, to embrace new things, only then will they thrive. What a pity the wolves of Quadra never understood that.

A feminine silhouette drifted into Nia's field of vision and her head snapped up, instantly on the guard, and slightly annoyed that someone had invaded her space. But then the female's features fully came into definition, and she felt her shoulders relax. Marzena. The rosy-cheeked wolf was alone and dreaming yet again. Sometimes, Nia just wished Marzena would take her responsibilities more seriously, but at the same time she was appreciative of her complimenting personality. The pair were good friends and comrades. Perhaps she could ask her about patrols? No... Marzena had probably went to the bay today to avoid the subject, not discuss it. Kicking herself into motion, she leapt down onto a large stone, then onto the fine quilt of light golden sand underfoot. The sensation of dry, cool sand on her paw pads was faintly comforting. Nia padded towards the still, solitary figure, just as another vaguely flitted in from the corner of her eye.

"Shirking again, Mar?" she asked slightly teasingly, taking care to speak from a distance so as not to startle the wolf.

His suspicions of the figure in the distance lightened ever so slightly as the billowed mist thinned to a figure non-other than his chief. He slowly gathered his emotions for a brief moment, as his paws felt for the small, wet pebbles that lined the beach sparkled in the lingering light of sunset. The water was almost still, small waves occasionally hitting the beach with little force. He reached down to brushing his snout over it gently, running his tongue over its smooth surface. It was perfectly round, with no sharp edges or jagged curves.Perfect for minerals that seemed to engraved on the sedimentary pebble used for treating sore oesophagus's when eating fish bones. He could now relax slightly knowing it wasn't any of the quadra members, despite the two packs relationships he never really liked there leader, Midas. Something about that brute gave him a reason to gather his herbs and minerals so frequently.

He held the sedimentary rock was held tightly in his mouth caged by lines of barbed teeth, trying his best not to digest the sour minerals lining the rock. He slowly flickered his eyes over the bay wondering whether to approach the superior. It would come across as rude not to at least submit his acquaintance to show his submission. But first, he thought it would be necessary to disregard of the salty tears forming ever so slightly and the rock in his maw. After a few moments of screening the bay, he found his stash under the wood that has traded its once lustrous beauty for a dishevelled and subdued charm. The softest parts have washed away into the salty waters leaving only the toughest cells behind, pronounced in their contours. To him, though it isn't even wood, it's the waves he sees, flowing in their organic curls. bending down he can smell the sea imbibed within it, there is sand within the pits that used to be knots.Using his broad physique the male rolled the log over gently finding his special stash inside, filled with various plant life, even the mushrooms had begun to grow. Something he didn't predict in this sandy environment. Just as he was about to place his pebbles inside the crevice the log had formed another lupin caused him to jump slightly. As he raised he saw a lupin walking seemingly towards him ... the council.

He had completely forgotten about the pebbles in his jaw as his flirtatious ways settled in, 'as per usual'. "Awright, Pania. Whit a buzz tae see ye this mornin', mah lassie. " The stone dropped out of his jaw as he spoke quickly covered by the log as he did so. A deep curve of his lips makes the world stop around him. A smile that brings back a million memories in a split second. He wouldn't say that he is overconfident to these high ranking wolves, though he would say that he is also high ranking. But in truth his just flirtations.

Dali was getting old and with each passing day the ocean called to her. Voices whispered in her head that soon her rest would come. They filled her sleep with their lulling voices and amongst them she swore she heard her Faolan's amongst them. It was warmer when she was asleep, like his pelt was still their wrapped around her, watching her sleep and reminding her how much he loved and missed her. Consciousness had always hit Dali suddenly and with a small gasp Dali awoke. She was inside the councils den alone and feeling the cold begin to seep into her bones from the morning breeze. She had begun sleeping with the council immediately after her daughter became chief; to give her space in her own den to do as she wish. The new chief didn't need her mother doting over her every action. She would be there whenever needed but if she was to find a good mate, giving some distance would help the males of the pack feel more at ease to approach Marzena.
It took Dali a moment to get to her feet, her paws shaking as they tried to steady themselves under her weight. It took some time and heavy breaths to feel confident in her strength. It was only the first waking moments that ached in pain and as the sleep faded strength of mind was all it took to ignore the fangs of age slowly digging into her body. Stepping out of the den Dali cast her gaze of the wolves of Sonora. Her eyes looked mostly for her daughter but when the pale tan wolf was no where to be seen Dali cast off the idea, instead searching for wolves who could use the company or consultation of the Queen.

Lilith had never been one to question herself- but as she stood at the border of Quadra territory, her uncertainty had reached an all new high. Just there on the other side of the line rested a taunting flower, used to create a poultice over wounds. She'd used the last bit she'd had after one of her pack mate's moronic tricks. She furled the side of her muzzle to reveal a tooth. Of course, it wouldn't be easy to retrieve a simple flower. Nothing could ever be simple for her. Lilith pinned her ears to the back of her head, casting a look over her shoulder. It was just over the border, not ten feet away from the territory marker. Could she really be scrutinized for a few paw steps? She was not stealing prey, Gods forgive. It was one flower.

Just one flower. That's what the healer told herself as she bounced over the territory marker, the fur over hackles rising as her anxiety rumbled in her chest.

She dashed to bushes where the patch of white disturbed the green and brown, digging at the roots with her paws, so as not to destroy the stems by simply pulling. They would be of no use to her if she damaged them - all of this nonsense would be for not.
She glanced nervously this way and that, before devoting herself to the uprooting of the plant.

Terra sat at the edge of the camp, ears erect and eyes scanning the camp grounds. There was so much to do- with so little time to do it. She had many things she would need to conduct that evening. Patrols, hunting, check on the chief. It was all so overwhelming at times - but nonetheless satisfying. A small grin spread over the she-wolf's muzzle as she watched her pack mates gather. She could never find the words needed to explain the love she felt for each and every one of them. Head caught in the wind of the sea's breeze, Terra tiled her head back with a happy smile, before rising to her paws.

She found Midas in his usual spot, waiting for his pack to gather beneath him. She trotted over to him, scuffling her paws around the rocks so as to alert him to her approach. She sat beside him slowly, eyeing the chief with a soft smile. Her heart always swlled when she saw him. For what reason, she was unsure, but she would not find herself in a position to question it.

      "Good morning, Chief,"
she greeted gently. "Have you rested well?"

        Ayasha Image

Amber irises quickly darted about as they scanned the area. Ayasha was currently bound to camp as she felt boredom beginning to overtake her. Her paws ached for adventure and she was growing restless by the minute. A frustrated sigh left the she wolf's maw as she flopped onto her side haphazardly. She grumbled a few unintelligible words to herself before sitting back up and, once again, gazing over the camp in which she resides. She caught sight of a few of her packmates, Dali and Zander being two of them. A thought ran through her mind as she contemplated bounding over to one of them but she decided against it. Ayasha wasn't one for initiating conversation, although, she did have a habit in giving her opinion on situations not necessarily pertaining to her.

Ayasha snorted as she rose to her paws. With a quick shake of her coat and a long stretch, Ayasha set off to begin her daily routine of mischief. She decided on going down to the bay for now, to practice hunting skills of course. So, the she-wolf trotted down the sandy beach, spotting Marenza down here as well but decided not to disturb her. Ayasha made her way down to the water, gazing out upon the dazzling waves. She wasn't the best hunter, not due to lack of reflexes or eyesight as she was especially gifted with those traits as well as hearing but the female lacked patience and focus of the task at hand. So, the yearling sat by the water, scanning the watery depths for any sign of fish.
