✦Awakening Souls✦

Story

You are a dog in Moscow, Russia. It is after the Great War, and almost all humans have been wiped out. The ones who remain, have made a living in the metro, away from mutated creatures and radiation. As dogs, we have adapted to survive the radiation except in large amounts. There are places that are more irradiated than others, and places where the mutated creatures stay. Occasionally you'll see one outside of those places, but it is rare and usually they are only out to hunt. After dark, the more lethal ones come out. They are black to blend into the shadows, but have a thin skin that is easily damaged by sun. They are faster than dogs, and the only way to keep them away is light. On top of the now natural dangers, the rival packs are dangerous to one another. Your only goal is to survive this life.

Very open world with no set plot line.

rp rules

one | all of tess's rules apply.
two | wolf hybrid dogs are accepted, but very limited. They are not better than dogs and have the same limitations.
three | no small dog breeds. (toy/mini poodles, toy breeds, chihuahuas, etc.)
four | post at least three complete sentences. this is semi-lit.
five | if you do not post after one week, you will be taken down from the ranks. if you are going to be gone, please send me a pm ahead of time.
six | use the discussion forum for all and any OOC and to post your forms.
seven | do not start any major drama without asking others.
eight | no excessive gore or mating scenes. fade to black.
nine | no joining with pups younger than 3 months without a mother.
ten | you may only have one lead role in the pack.
eleven | if you do not specify what breed they are, i will put them in as mutts.
twelve | absolutely no wolves. They may be a mix, but a dog breed must be the dominant breed.
thirteen | the pack does not eagerly welcome new comers.
fourteen | i trust you have read the rules. if your form does not meet requirements you will not be accepted. i will give you one chance to change it.
fifteen | no police dogs or anything of the like.
sixteen | use your own forms, but if you do not have one, pm me and i will give you one.
seventeen | i am only accepting a limited number of certain breeds. not every dog is a husky or shepherd.
eighteen | real world, real consequences. you can not go around attacking people without being hunted.
nineteen | your dog will age.
twenty | i will be picky with what pictures i allow. if you claim it is an american pit bull terrier, but post a picture of an american bully, you will not be accepted. if you need help, i will help you match the picture to a breed. that being said, absolutely NO BLUE, MERLE, LILAC, OR ISABEL colored apbts.
twenty one | take your dogs' breeds into account.
example: a rottweiler cannot run as fast as a grey hound, and a grey hound can easily be overpowered by a rottweiler.

ranks

    lead pair
the lead pair are the alphas of the pack. the alphas are in charge of the pack, and make most decisions. they get the most respect from the pack, and failure to follow orders will result in exile. the lead male and female must be mated.
    co-leader pair
the co-leader pair has almost as much power as the lead pair. this pair is highly trusted by the leader(s) and thus has more power. they help in decision making, organizing scouting trips, battle strategies, and much more. however, they still must listen to the lead pair. these two do not need to be mated, but must get along on some levels.
    deputy pair
the deputies are next in line to be leaders. this pair does need to be mated, as both will become the next lead pair. they must listen to the leaders orders, and they are below the co-leader pair. they still receive respect from pack mates.
    lead fighter pair
this pair does not need to be mated, but need to get along. they are the ones with the most fighting experience, and train the pups that wish to become fighters. other than the control they have over the battle field, and help with plans that relate to that, they are just another pack member.
    lead scavenger pair
the lead scavenger pair does not need to be mated, nor get along. this pair is the one that is the best at finding food in difficult areas. these two will train pups how to effectively use their nose to find food that is not spoiled, and howto avoid humans at all costs. they have little control over anything other than organizing scouts to find food.
    fighters
fighters are the dogs with the most strength, who were trained by the lead fighter pair. they will run into battle on command, without a second thought or a regard for their life.
    scavengers
scavengers have the best noses, using them and their knowledge to look through human waste for anything edible for the pack. they are responsible for feeding the pack.
    healers
healers are the dogs with the best medical knowledge. they know where the herbs grow, and how to use them effectively. healers are neither permitted to scavenge or fight, so they are looked down upon in the pack. they do not have power over anything other than their own medicine supply.
    subordinates
subordinates are the lowest in the pack, equal to the wolf's pack omegas. they can scavenge if they wish, fight if they wish, but they do not get respect for it. they are the last to eat, and are seen by most as unworthy.
    junkyard dogs/loners/rouges
these are the dogs that do not belong to any pack. they either run the streets as loners, or live in the junkyard with the others. these dogs are very much unliked by the pack, who will attack on site unless ordered otherwise.

in a filthy junkyard, but it's a dog-eat-dog-world.

[Open! please remember to post in the discussion thread.]

[This a post-apocalyptic role play. There are no humans unless you go into the Metro, and they will not be welcoming. This is Moscow, Russia. It is very cold in the winter and finding food will not be easy. There are places full of radiation that you can not go to and come back healthy. There are creatures out there, that would love to prey on unsuspecting dogs.]

VALI
Male | Six | Cane Corso | Pack Leader

Vali woke up in his room on the top floor of the abandoned building. The cieling wasn't exactly there, however it gave a gentle breeze at night, and let the warm sun in the morning. This was a disadvantage in the winter however, as there was a small layer of snow over everything. Vali let out a yawn as he stood up and stretched, the old floor creaking under his brindle paws. He walked out of his room and started down the stairs, looking around on every floor to see who was awake. Once he stopped on the ground floor, his hazel eyes eagerly scanned the place for fresh kill, or pack members. Once finding a few awake, and a small kill pile, he walked over grabbing a large rabbit for himself and dragging it off to where he ate his meals. It was a small room, may have been previously used as an office. There was an old wooden desk with some odd things Vali couldn't name on top. Under, was some moss he laid on to eat his meal.

WHISKEY
Female | Two | Mutt | Healer

Whiskey laid in her makeshift bed on the second floor for a little bit before actually getting up. Despite how early she usually got up, she was a little more tired today. The fae slowly rose from her bed and shook out her white fur before slowly padding out of her room in search of either easy food or others who had maybe hunted already. She avoided crossing paths with Vali, as they had fought before and she now stayed out of his way. She lowered her ears a little as she saw him drag away a large rabbit, her stomach grumbled at the site. After he left, she slowly walked towards the pile, stiffing at a mouse and quickly scarfing it down. It wasn't much, but it'd tide her over for a bit.

KING
Male | Three | American Pit Bull Terrier | Junkyard Dog

King laid in his usual spot in an old rusted out truck. He preferred sleeping in the back, even though most of the padding was gone out of the seats. The male let out a long yawn before jumping out of his truck, letting his tongue lazily hang out of his mouth. The brute glanced around, quickly padding across the small clearing to where some of the other dogs hid their food. He moved an old wooden door over to find a rabbit, half eaten. He grunted, but took it anyway and trotted back to under his truck where he usually ate. King began to eat when he noticed someone walking towards him. He gave a warning growl to the female that came too close to him. Once she crept closer, King darted out from under his truck and attacked the small fae, probably just out of puphood. He snapped at her and bit down on her ear before she surrendered and ran off with her tail between her legs. He snorted and went back to his food, quickly finishing it off before anyone had a chance to steal it.

Ryan padded near the dens, mouth watering as he dropped a small rabbit onto the fresh kill pile. He nosed it over and grabbed a mouse for himself, wagging his tail as he walked over to his den to crouch down and scarf the mouse down. Ryan looked up, watching the rest of the pack slowly wake up. He stretched and yawned, curling up on the soft moss, tucking his nose under his paw. He'd catch a couple of moments of sleep before he had to head out again to find more food.

Olivia rolled over, basking in the sun, sighing as her fur warmed. She wagged her tail slightly, smelling fresh kill. Her stomach growled but she didn't feel like getting up just yet, comfortable in her nest. For once, the cold didn't make her leg ache where there was an ugly scar that often stiffened in the morning. Olivia stretched, sitting up and cocking her head.

L E X
Male | Lead Fighter | American Akita

Lex woke up to the sound of heavy paws thumping on the floor. He slowly opened his eyes and lifted his head. Sunlight beamed through the pale, dusty curtains and filled the room with warmth. Lex stretched out his body and rolled over onto his stomach. He got up and padded to the entrance of his room. He made his way downstairs, as he was on one of the higher floors. He saw a few other dogs and they nodded to each other before he made his way down to the main floor. Once at the ground, Lex took in his surroundings. He saw a small kill pile and walked over to it. He thanked the scavengers who brought in the kills and took a small squirrel for himself. He brought his food to the back of the building and sat near a window, he ate his food while he basked in the sunlight. He did this almost every morning, it gave him a few moments of peace before his day began.

    ── QUIVER ──
    [ female ] [ three years ] [ blue bay shepherd ]

    ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Quiver had woken before the sun rose, but she did not move from her sleeping spot until light streamed in through the windows. Ever since being separated from her brother, she learned to fear the night. The cover of darkness made the monsters stronger, faster.. and more deadly. Shaking her head, she rose to her paws and sauntered to the small kill prey. She eyed it, noticing that they were low on food. Giving a sigh, she lowered her head and picked up a small bird. She ate it quickly, hearing the small bones snap beneath her powerful teeth. Once she was finished, she casted a glance around for the other scavengers. Upon spotting Ryan sleeping, she gave a small snort and padded over to the young canine. The fae nosed his shoulder, trying to stir him from his slumber. "We can't waste daylight. Come on." She urged before turning away from the brute and walking away to the entrance of the building.

Heaven - "My Clandestine Love"

Postby awakening souls. » Sat Jul 29, 2017 11:46 am

        [✤] HEAVEN [✤]
xxxxxxxx age: 4 years, 3 months || gender: male || breed: border collie || role: scavenger || tags: quiver
        ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════
oot-flecked paws dangled limply over the edge of the iron-barred balcony, hooking the attention of all those who wandered below. The belligerent wind gusted through Heaven's silky coat, tempting him to arouse from his dream-filled slumber. Weary eyelids lifted from their temporary resting, revealing eyes as warm as summer itself with color as vibrant as the heaven above. How ironic? The male Border Collie pushed himself upwards, shifting most of his weight onto his frontal paws until he stood facing the open doorway. Before him lied several other canines, each of them adrift in the world of sleep. He traipsed through the entrance, then through the rustic room which was riddled with holes, meandering his way around the unconscious dogs. As soon as daylight pooled through the windows mounted upon the brick walls, Heaven had reached the creaky and croaky stairway, which he followed to the first level. Upon entering the room, an alluring female of bluish-grey hue caught his eye. She sank along the farthest wall, her velvety strands brushing against the slab structure. "Headed somewhere?" he inquired, keeping his soft voice even quieter than normal, as to not awaken any of his pack-mates. Quiver was a captivating soul, to say the least, much different from Heaven. Nonetheless, he appreciated her effort in keeping the pack well-nourished, and couldn't help but wonder what life alongside her at most times would be like.

    ── QUIVER ──
    [ female ] [ three years ] [ blue bay shepherd ]

    ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Quiver was moving toward the entrance of the building, not letting Ryan to wake up slowly. The other scavenger would have to hurry to keep up with her. She was hoping to spot the other scavenger, Heaven, but she had not spotted him when she had decided to leave. Thankfully, the Border Collie ended up finding her. His quiet voice surprisingly caught her attention. Perking her ears, she turned her attention to the shorter canine. "Mm, it's time to go scavenging. I'm glad you found me." She spoke, not seeming to worry about lowering her voice like the other. It was time for the others to wake up. They needed to take advantage of the sunlight while it lasted. There was not much for them to do during the night time. She held back a shudder from trailing down her back. She hated the darkness and all that hid in it. "We're searching more buildings today and, if we can't find anything useful, we'll search the nearby forest for small prey. The food pile is pitiful." She informed Heaven, stepping outside of the building and squinting slightly from the sun's rays. "I nudged Ryan, so he'll catch up with us - hopefully." She added, giving a small shake of her head. If the male did not end up catching up and resumed his sleeping, he would get an earful from her later. "Good morning by the way." She said after a moment, flashing a small smile at the brute.
